Individualist in the extreme, which puts me in awkward political circles (like the Christian fundie camp and the pro-choice/marriage-equality camps, simultaneously, which earns me all kinds of friends). At the same time I do have a certain respect for the reality of authority -- I'm not an anarchist by any stretch, or even a libertarian really, in fact I sort of like the idea of an American empire, if I'm being honest. Long story short I don't fit in well at rallies.

I'm an American with a major blind-spot for state and local elections (military moves do that to you, as does 'being anything but democrat and having New York residency').So I really only pay attention to federal stuff, where, since I put such an emphasis on individuals over the State, I tend to land Republican (the American left is full of statists). I despise judicial activism.... hell, I despise *most* activism, but especially the kind that dresses in robes and bangs hammers and graces the unwashed masses with its wisdom. I read CNN and listen to Rush and make up my own mind.

If I coded that right on the first try I deserve a fucking medal.

Politically democratic who votes not for a party but for what is logically sound for the time. Ex: If we need social reforms, vote in a liberal. If we need economic repairs, a conservative will do. If you want to destroy the country, vote in extremists.

Personally, the most ideal form of government would begin paying off the debt, investing in asteroid mining, advancing automation, solidfying the rights of churches and organizations as mainly equal to people save in core rights and freedoms, reforming the current welfare system to just give money instead, etc.

What I currently have as a citizen is better than anyone has ever had at any point in time. Now we need to improve things not only for ourselves, but for the next generation, giving them a greater foundation upon which to build the future...

... One small step at a time.

Most of my ideals focus on social wellness, a government that clearly serves us, and individual equality. Party lines do not bother me so much, but attitude and voting histories do. I have unfortunately never found a candidate I wholly supported because of the latter, especially. The notion of a candidate who can speak well and says exactly what they mean is generally attracting, but I know that how one speaks and what they've pledged support to first tells the story of their intentions and second where pressure may bend them. In my voting life I can honestly say that so far I haven't voted for many right wing politicians of any position -- loads of otherwise though.

My political beliefs mirror my hopes for my daughter. I want this to be a country she can be proud of, that she can support and that will support her in her ambitions. I care deeply about anything to do with rights, question laws that clearly impact the poor and people of colour negatively, and would fight to increase our support of education. In the latter I would hope we would better educate our youth about politics and the impacts they may or may not see on their own lives. I don't believe our government does not respond to us simply because of corruption, though that's a significant concern, but also because so few are politically active. Protesting comes with a strange, dismissive stigma and unfortunately politics may not feel important to young voters.

Basically, I'll support whatever group that will better educate the masses, underscore human rights, and challenge the devaluing of minorities and the poor. You know, I want a government I can be proud of.

In simple terms I'm a socialist.

I think the job of the Government is to aid, support and better organize the people, not to rule over them.
Stuff like Health Care, Education, Therapy, Welfare, Food & Housing (Not anything great mind you, just something so they can stay warm at night) should be covered by the Government.

No one should ever be told they can't get an education, get a surgery, get therapy for their child, will have to starve and/or stay outside in the cold because life gave them some bad luck. Everyone should be in a position where they can focus their efforts into bettering themselves and the country they live in rather than their only concern be about surviving.

Wage Gaps and different wealth levels is still needed mind you, otherwise people outside of general interest and care would have no reason to pursue the more demanding and necessary jobs.
Without proper motivation our society will fall under, but our society isn't doing to well at the moment either with so many people having to focus all their effort in life simply to get the next meal, and many others are dying or being put in special homes because they couldn't get the operation or therapy they needed, we also got people who get born in poor families and as a result are almost doomed to never get a Job because they are have to pay for education all by themselves unless if they get lucky with scholarships.

I'm opposed to welfare, with very sparse and limited exceptions. I think that ninety-nine times out of a hundred, people who are in dire straits have no one to blame for their problems but themselves. Propping people up who are destined to never be successful only wastes time and money. Whenever aid IS given, it should always be in a form that encourages the person receiving it to be self-sufficient. The amount of people receiving government subsidies should always be kept to an absolute minimum. Pervasive social programs not only encourage abuse, but also discourage self improvement.

Economically, I'm an advocate for free trade, again with few exceptions. The economy does best when there's nothing impeding it from operating efficiently. Part of the role of government in the economy should be to remove obstacles to efficiency and ensure that the process runs smoothly. The only other instance I can think of where government could get involved is in protecting crucial industries from foreign takeover (but NOT blocking foreign investment), and of course preventing monopolies. The private sector, not government, should be the engine of the economy.

Immigration is a necessary process. However, it's a massively disadvantageous necessity in regards not only to the economic damage it does to the countries affected by widespread emigration (e.g., brain drain), but also for its erosion of the fundamental character of the country affected by widespread immigration. Immigration shouldn't be an overwhelming, demographic-altering affair. It's needed for short-term growth, but can be catastrophic in the long-term if it's not regulated correctly. Immigrants should only be admitted to the extent that they can be advantageously absorbed.

CHEESE FOR EVERYONE!!!

I'm a conservative quasi-Minarchist. I think the only thing the federal government should be funding is police, military, and scientific research, especially in the fields of exploration and of course, to research military technology.

My stance on:

-Gay Marriage = I believe the government should stay out of marriage issues. Thus, I'm technically for 'Gay Marriage'.

-Abortion = Probably my strongest political position; I do believe America is unacceptably lenient towards abortion. In general, I will vote for anyone proposing laws designed to restrict and limit abortions.

-Drugs: I'm not particularly against /weed/ specifically, but I do believe that the sale of at least some drugs (meth and cocaine come to mind) to be criminal. Drugs are an agent of oppression, and I believe that with proper allocation of resources and police vigilance, we can limit the sale of these drugs down to more acceptable levels.

-Military involvement: US interventionism (America as global military police) is, in my opinion, not inherently a fallacy. The problem, however, is that in order to pull off global police, there has to be a global mafia. Ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union, there is simply no large threat to the entire world.
However, this will not be the case for very long. Super powers will always exist, and the cold war was not the last global conflict. As such, I propose America begins to ship its military out of places clearly able to defend themselves (Who's going to invade Europe?) but keep a certain amount in high-risk areas, namely Israel and South Korea, to discourage an invasion by their enemies. We'll keep a large amount simply in reserve to prepare for another military rival to arrive.

-Gun Control: I have 3 criteria for if a weapon should be legal:

1. Is it non-lethal? (Pepper Spray would be 'yes', a knife would be 'no')
2. Is it being issued to your local, state, or federal police force?
3. Does it have a low-risk for collateral damage? (A rifle would be 'yes', a flamethrower would be 'no')

If you can say "yes" to any of these questions-especially number 2-then I believe that weapon has to be legal for civilian ownership.

I like to believe the greatest government is the wisdom of friends and the leadership of a hero/heroes.

I know this sounds very fairy tale but I believe that their must have been a time when a single person stood up and inspired hope, belief, loyalty and above all, love. In my fairy tale world you do not need drugs, you just need a role to fulfill and the inspiration of a great hero to do it.

Sadly, this fairy tale also means we need to go back about 3'000 years in my mind and even then humanity proves that darkness always finds a way.

You do know that the COG is a fascist military state that forced women into breeding facilities after E-Day, right?

Anyways, I'm not really clear cut on my ideology. I'm right-leaning moderate that has a lot of left-leaning opinions, especially when it comes to individual and human rights. I'm pretty fluid.

The last great heroes did not exist 3000 years ago, for while there will always be men like Hitler and Stalin, there will always be men like Churchill and Gandhi.

This is me, apparently. I will say that some of the questions were a bit confusing, and some of them could have used an 'in-between' option (as opposed to the black and white 'I Agree or disagree' options). So this probably isn't perfectly accurate.

I have had other tests describe me as militaristic (which is a little true on some issues), and others describe me as communist (which I most certainly am not).

So yeah, these tests are wonky. But fun, anyway.

I'm pretty far out in the left wing of things based on my ideals of how things should work, but I'm also a realist so I tend to be more moderate in practice. Then again, my moderate left stance is seen in the heavily right-leaning United States as still being extremely left wing, so there's that. As an example of what I mean about ideals versus realism, I'm all for the idea of jacking up taxes on the rich and the corporations to fund the socialization of basic necessities of life so that all Americans are provided food and water and shelter and health care and so on at no charge to those who cannot afford it (as the Marxist quote goes, "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need"), but I'm well aware that this will never happen in this country because my head is not in the clouds so I simply support entitlement programs and removing tax loopholes on the rich and so forth.

My realism tempers my ideals into reasonable and logical positions given the context of how the world actually is, so I don't vote for fringe third parties unless the main ticket candidates are such garbage that I feel like throwing my vote away rather than giving it to one of them, which is what I did for the 2012 presidential election. My ideals being so far left just means that if I were to somehow gain utter authority and dominion over the US (or any other country), things would get very socialist very quickly.

Oh hey, that looks familiar. Here's mine, just retook the test because I couldn't find where I saved the image from last time I took it and got pretty much the same result.
