The heroes shortly after arrived to the gym. Opal, an elderly lady clad in pink and carrying an umbrella saw them enter the gym. She eyed the group up and down. "Ah, I see I have some applicants here to be my replacement at the Fairy Gym, she said with a smile. "But, it will take more than just beating me in a battle to prove you are a fitting replacement.
"Ma'am," Liam replied. "I think there has been a mix-up, we are here for the badge, not to become the next gym leader."
Opal disregarded what Liam said and told him they'd each use four Pokemon, sending out her first one, a regional form for Weezing.

"Weezing, Galarian Form. The Poison Gas Pokemon. The evolved form of Koffing. A Poison and Fairy-Type. This Pokémon consumes particles that contaminate the air. Instead of leaving droppings, it expels clean air. Weezings took this form for some reason at a time where droves of factories filled the Galarian skies with pollution."

"It could still have Levitate as an ability. That leaves Psychic and Steel as weaknesses. I don't want to pull out my secret weapon yet, so I guess this will have to do." Liam thought to himself as he readied a Luxury Ball.

"Duralladon! It's time to shine!" The Steel/Dragon emerged from its ball with a roar.

"Use Fairy Wind!" Opal called. The move would do normal damage overall.
"Iron Defense!" Liam called, Liam thought it might be best to prepare Duraladon for doing as much damage as he could. The normal damage attack was softened a bit by the move.
"Upping your defenses? I guess I got the dragon-boy scared." Opal chuckled. "Tell me deary, Have you heard what they used call me? Was it: A) The Wizard B) The Magic User or C) Magical Girl

"Trivia during a gym battle? This is a new one." Liam commented. "To be honest, I have never heard of a nickname for you. So, I don't know, C?"

A buzzer filled stadium.

"Sorry Dearie, that's incorrect." Opal said shaking her head. "Weezing, Use Fairy Wind again!" This time the attack hit, but it seemed as though it hit harder this time, despite the defense buff.

"Duralladon, use Laser Focus!" Duralladon took careful aim at the ball of gas.
"Smokescreen," Opal called trying to obscure line of sight.
"Now, Flash Cannon!" The attack was guarnted to be a critical hit. The beam of white light shot thru the smokescreen, splitting to cloud in two down the middle and striking Weezing, making it crash to the ground. Weezing floated back up, able to still go for more. She used Fairy Wind again, scoring a crit as well.
"Metal Burst!" Liam called. Duraladon knocked back with damage stronger than what it was just smacked with.
Weezing tried Tackle, but missed.
"Hyper Beam!" Liam called.
"Fairy Wind!" Opal called. The attacks collided and resulted in a double KO. the audience cheered at the great battle as each trainer recalled their Pokemon, praising it for the good job.

"Neither Pokemon is able to continue, this match is a draw!" The ref announced.

Opal next called on Mawile and Liam sent Beckham out.

"Next Question!" Opal called out. "What is my favorite color? A) Pink B) Purple or C) Grey?"

"Grey seems out of place with those other two," Liam thought to himself. "But at the same time, that doesn't mean its right. A lot of people might assume pink because a lot of people assume girls like pink. So, could it be?" "Purple?" Liam asked.
A small chime echoed on the stadium.

"Yes, I love a nice, deep purple, isn't it just grand?" She asked.
"Beckaham, Flame Charge!" Liam called. Beckham seemed to move faster than normal and scored a good hit on Mawile.
"Iron Defense," Opal commanded. Mawile upped its defenses.
"Pyro Ball!" Liam ordered. The attack was launched at Mawile, who slammed its jaw tail onto the ground to propel its self off the ground and out of the way on time, doing a mid-air flip and landed a Draining Kiss on Beckham. Beckham was weakned as Mawhile regained health.
"Now, Double Kick!" Liam called. Beckham quickly gave its adversary a couple of swift kicks, sending it crashing into the ground. Mawile stood back up, panting heavily before Opal called for Crunch. Mawile went charging in toward Beckham.
"Beckham, Flame Burst!" Beckham took off in a run toward Mawile chaging into it. He got hit, but took out Mawile.

"Mawile is unable to continue, Beckham the Cinderace wins!" The ref announced.

Opal praised Mawile for the good job as she recalled it, Liam told Beckham to come back and take a breather. Opal sent out Togekiss next. Liam tagged Beckham out and before he could send out another Pokemon, Toxel burst out of his ball, landing in the arena and was registered as Liam's third Pokemon.
"Well, I guess it can't be helped," Liam thought.

"Third Question!" Opal called. "How old am I? A) 16, B) 80 c) 24? "
"Liam smirked. ""I refuse to answer that one. It is impolite for young man to ask her woman her age."
Opal blushed. "Why, no one has ever thought to give that as an answer before." Opal said. She seem genuinely impressed. "Togekiss, Air Slash!" Togekiss launched the attack. Toxel quickly rolled to the side to avoid the move.
"Nuzzle!" Toxel darted up to Togekiss and affectionetely rubbed against it, causing some damage and made Togekiss become paralyzed. "Ancient Power," Opal called. The attack hit and gave Togekiss the Omniboost.
"Use Acid!" The blob of poison hit and did a good amount of damage.
Togekiss tried to use Draining Kiss, but was paralyzed.
Toxel tried Acid again, but missed.
Togekiss tried Draining Kiss again, and made it. She recovered a bit of her health back, but not much.
Toxel used Acid again, but it was cleaved in half by Air Slash.
Toxel ran up to use Nuzzle again, but was smacked back into the wall behind Liam with Air Slash. Liam went over to make sure he was OK. Beckham popped out of his ball, concerned for the Toxel as well.
As the ref was about to deem Toxel unable to continue, Toxel stood back up and began crying an ear piercing cry. While Crying he began to glow white and changed shape. where the little crying creature once stood now was a taller bipedal creature that would easially blend into a punk rock concert.

"Toxtrcity, Amped Form. The Evolved form of Toxel, An Electric and Poison-Type.When this Pokémon sounds as if it's strumming a guitar, it's actually clawing at the protrusions on its chest to generate electricity. This short-tempered and aggressive Pokémon chugs stagnant water to absorb any toxins it might contain. "

"Toxtrcity, use Shock Wave!" The unmissing ball of electrcity hit its target, being more than Togekiss could take at this point.
"Togekiss is unable to continue, Toxtrcity Wins!"

Opal recalled her.

"My morning tea is kicking in, and not a moment too soon," Opal said with a smile as she sent out her final Pokemon. It looked as though the small creature was made from frosting.

"Alcreamie, the Cream Pokemon. A Fairy-Type. When it trusts a Trainer, it will treat them to berries it's decorated with cream. When Alcremie is content, the cream it secretes from its hands becomes sweeter and richer. The flavor of its cream can vary depending on varying circumstances from when it evolved."

"Are you prepared, Dragon-boy?' Opal asked. "I'm going to have some fun with this," She recalled Alcreamie to its ball, and activated her Dynamax Band. When Alcreamie reemerged from her ball, she resembled a giant wedding cake.
"Poison Jab!" Liam called.

Opal smirked. "You lack pink, let us give you some, Use G-Max Finale!" A spray of frosting was launched across the battlefield, made a direct hit on Toxtrcity before he could reach the G-Max Pokemon, KO'ing him. Before the Ref could say anything, Beckham, who was still standing on the sidelines ran out, ready to fight again. Liam recalled Toxtcity.

"Beckham, Use Pyro Ball!" The ball of fire was launched, it melted away huge swatches of the frosting as it went, and made a direct hit to the middle of the giant Pokemon.
Alcreamie used G-Max Finale again, healing itself and activating Blaze. Beckham fired Pyro Ball again, this one being bigger thuse melted away even more frosting, before hitting the target

Beckham used Flame Charge, but slipped on a bit of the frosting that he missed, giving Alcreramie a change to finish him off. Liam, having no choice left resorted to his secret weapon, his Alolan Sandslash.

"Slushie! It's time to shine!" Liam tossed the Luxury Ball, the blue Sandslash emerged as The Annoucer plugged his Rotomdex into the PA system and had it broadcast Slushie's dex entry.

"Sandslash, Alolan Form. The Mouse Pokemon. An Ice and Steel-Type. This is a form Sandslash took to adapt to the Alola Region. It has ice-coated steel spikes for quills, one stab from these can lead to frostbite."

"Slushie, Defense Curl!" Liam called. Slushie curlled up into a spiky ball, in preperation for the oncoming attack and one other reason.
The final G-Max Finale was launched. "Spin Slushie!" Liam called. The Spike blue ball began to spinning in place spraying the attack all over and into a frozen treat. Liam noted that this seemed very reminceant of contests and remind him how much he missed them.
'Now Ice Ball!" Slushie slid across the floor and smacked into Alcreamie dealing some damage. Alcreamie returned to its normal size.
Slushie went in for round to on Ice Ball, but missed. Alcremie used Draining Kiss, to recover some health.

Liam swapped his Z Crystals around."Now Slushie, lets wrap this up. Use Subzero Slammer! Slushie channeled Icicle Crash into the move, KO'ing Alcreamie.

"Alcreamie is unable to continue, Slushie wins. The victor is Challenger, Liam Coleman!" The crowd erupted into applause.

"Your pink is still lacking, but you're an excellent Trainer with some excellent Pokémon." Opal praised as she shook Liam's hand, and gave him the Fairy Badge. Liam praised Slushie for the good job. They then walked back over to the sidelines to let one of the others take her on.

Shiranui was up next. "This battle will be a 4-on-4 single battle with no time limit," the referee stated, "Only the challenger can switch Pokémon. Begin!" Opal opened with her Galarian Weezing and Shiranui responded with his Meowstic.
"Use Fairy Wind!"
"Nekomata, Psychic!" The speedy Meowstic unfolded her ears and a devastatingly strong Psychic issued forth, dealing heavy damage to Opal's Galarian Weezing. Weezing spewed gasses charged with fairy energy and Nekomata copped the hit.
"I have a question for you, ninja boy;" Opal stated, "By what name did they call me? Was it: A) The Wizard B) The Magic User or C) Magical Girl?"
"Liam tried 'Magical Girl' and was wrong and 'Magic User' doesn't seem to have the oomph," Shiranui mused, before answering, "To hazard a guess, they called you The Wizard?" A chime rang over the stadium indicating Shiranui got Opal's question right. He now knew what it was like when he pop quizzed other trainers when they made rookie mistakes.
"Congratulations, you are correct," Opal replied, "Weezing, Tackle!"
"Nekomata, finish Weezing off with Psyshock!" Nekomata felt a power boost and channelled it into a lance that she hurled at the charging Weezing. Weezing got struck and was soundly defeated.
"Weezing is unable to battle," the referee called, "Nekomata the Meowstic is the winner!"

Opal switched her Galarian Weezing for her Mawile and Shiranui switched out Nekomata for his Drilbur, Mogura. "My next question: what is my favourite colour?" Opal asked, "A) Pink B) Purple or C) Grey?"
"A lady like you, I believe, would favour the colour of royalty: purple," Shiranui answered, earning another chime from the stadium and a power boost for Mogura that resulted in the Drilbur glowing with a bright white light. Shiranui and the crowd was excited at seeing an evolution taking place as Mogura doubled her height. The glow subsided to reveal a Pokémon that was familiar to Shiranui having battled one belonging to Iris: Excadrill.
"Mawile, Iron Defense!"
"Mogura, open with Stealth Rock!" Mogura put her speed to work and set a trap of levitating stones on Opal's side of the battlefield while Mawile sharply boosted its Defence.
"Mawile, Crunch!"
"Mogura, Earthquake!" The Excadrill stomped the ground, sending a powerful tremor at Mawile and after copping the hit, Mawile charged at Mogura and clamped down on the Excadrill's head.
"Keep it up, Mawile!"
"Mogura, use High Horsepower!" With an orange glow, Mogura grabbed Mawile and slammed it on to the ground like a pro wrestler. Mawile clamped down on Mogura a second time.
"Mawile, Draining Kiss!"
"Mogura, finish it off with Drill Run!" The Excadrill brought her claws to her head and launched at Mawile like a spinning missile. Mawile got hit and was down for the count.
"Mawile is unable to battle," the referee called, "Mogura the Excadrill is the winner."

Opal switched her Mawile for her Togekiss and Shiranui switched out Mogura for his Salazzle, Nayamashii, who was currently asleep. "My final question!" Opal called, "How old am I? A) 16, B) 80 c) 24?"
"With all due respect, I decline to answer," Shiranui commented, knowing it was rude to imply a lady's age.
"Such politeness," Opal commented, thinking about adding a no answer choice to her question, "Togekiss, Air Slash!"
"Nayamashii, let it rip!" The sleeping Salazzle ate a Chesto Berry and let loose with a devastating Belch attack. Putrid purple rings issued forth from Nayamashii's mouth along with her loud burp and caught Togekiss by surprise. Togekiss crash landed on the battlefield, knocked out in one hit.
"Togekiss is unable to battle," the referee called, "Nayamashii the Salazzle is the winner."

"My morning tea is finally kicking in, and not a moment too soon!" said Opal after recalling her downed Togekiss. She sent out her Alcremie and Shiranui switched Nayamashii out for his Scolipede, Mukade. "Are you prepared? I'm going to have some fun with this," Opal continued, Gigantamaxing her Alcremie.
"Oh, I'm ready for anything you throw at me," Shiranui rebutted, Dynamaxing his Scolipede.
"You lack pink! Here, let us give you some," Opal taunted, calling for G-Max Finale.
"Mukade, use Max Ooze!" The enlarged Scolipede sent a wave of poisonous sludge and inundated Alcremie for a lot of damage. Alcremie conjured some large gobs of cream and rained them down on Mukade.
"Alcremie, use another G-Max Finale!"
"Mukade, use Max Steelspike!" The Scolipede stomped her front legs on the ground and sent a wave of steel spikes at Alcremie, impaling the gigantic cake and causing it to revert to its normal form.
"Alcremie is unable to battle," the referee called, "The winner of this match is Shiranui Tsukiko!"

"Your pink may still be lacking, but you're an excellent Trainer with some excellent Pokémon," Opal praised as she shook Shiranui's hand, and gave him the Fairy Badge.
"Thank you, Opal," Shiranui replied, "You'll find your successor sooner or later."

Beckham watched the battle. He was intrigued to see what Shiranui's plan was with putting one of his Pokemon to sleep. He gave Shiranui a thumbs up, as he was happy to see that he won.

"Thanks Beckham," Shiranui said, "If you're wondering why I put my Salazzle to sleep, it was so she could eat a Chesto Berry and use the attack that knocked Opal's Togekiss out. It's a move called Belch that will not work unless the user previously ate a berry in battle."

Jen walked onto the battlefield Jen throw a Ultta ball and Eclipse the Convisquire came flying out and over Aura shaking her loose feathers. Eclipxd knows Jen wanted them to make something with them. Opal throw a ball and a Galaian Weezing, “Fairy Wind.” “Drill Peck,” Jen said as Eclipse did a corkscrew and smash into Opal’s Weezing as the Weezing hit Eclipse with fairy energy. The Weezing tpeef t sook on more damage, “Fairy wind. “Air Slash,” Jen said as Weezing attack missed Eclipse as Eclipse is flying around at a fast speed. Eclipse slashed Weezing knocking out Weezing, Jen guess she know all the answers to Opal’s questions as Opal recalled her WeezingHi

Eclipse starts to glow white and grow bigger as Opal sends out her Togekiss. “Steel Wing,” Jen said as Ad One of her wings turns to steel and strikes Togekiss. “Draining Kiss,” Opal said as Togekiss tries to kiss Eclipse but slams into a Iron Defense that surround Eclipse as Togekiss crash to the ground knocked out cold. “My morning tea is finnely kickinng in, how old am I?” Opal ask as she recalled Togekiss for her Mawile. “You should nrbrt revealll your true ahe, Eeclipse Steel Wing.” Jen said as Eclipse flew quickly at Nawile but the Mawile crunch down on Eclipse’s leg. “Drill Peck,” Jen said as Eclipse did a cork screw and crash into the ground. Eclipse took some damage but Mawile was knocked out.

Opal send out hrr Alcremie. Jen recalled Eclipse and send out Aura her Lucario, before Aura could attack Opal dyne max Alcremie, “Alcremie use Max Finale.” Opal said as Alcremie shoots cream at Aura. “Bullet punch,” Jen said as Aura punch the cream really fast burning away some of the cream. “Alcremie use Finale,” Opal said as Jen activated her z ring. “Aura Corkscrew Crash,” Jen said as Alcremie shoots cream and Aura crash into Alcremie. After a moment later Aura reappear as she won the battle. “You are lacking in pink,” Opal said as she gave Jen the Fairy badge.

Liam had just remembered something he saw in the Pokedex. He wanted to take a quick detour back to the Isle or Armor before going to the next gym.

"Congratulations, Jen," Shiranui said after Jen won her Fairy Badge, "Liam, what got your attention?"

“Thanks,” Jen said and hug Shiranui and quickly let’s go senseing Liam is destracted. “I guess we are going to check something out before the next gym.”

"Well, said gym is all the way out at Circhester," Shiranui stated, "So there are plenty to check out as we make our way back to Hammerlocke and up Routes 7 and 8."

"I found that there's a G-Max that I can get if I feed a particular Pokemon I have G-Max Soup," Liam said.

“Which Pokémon do you have to feed soup to,” Jen ask as she wonders if they would encounter any more ninjas?

Shiranui was curious himself.

Liam snirked and pointed to Beckham behind him, who was playing with a soccer ball

"I kind of figured," Shiranui responded.

Jen gurdd that too as she smell something sweet and it was comeing from Aura.

"Shall we go then?" Liam asked.

"Indeed we shall," Shiranui answered, "Those remaining badges won't win themselves."

“Ready to check out some loxation,” Jen said as Aura agrees.

With that, Liam used a pager to call for a Corvinight Transport to take the heroes to the Isle of Armor. Liam asked his friends if they were going to follow him into the forest while he gathered the mushrooms, or if they just wanted to meet at Mustard's Dojo.

"Didn't we do that already?" Shiranui reminded. He remembered catching his Larvesta at the Isle of Armor.
