Clay had the spool of bandage in one hand, a strip of it in his mouth and scissors in the other. He tried to hold it in place on his ribs with an elbow as he cut at the fabric.

“Ther brn gorked boddle over der” Clay said with slight difficulty through the bandage between his clenched teeth, with a vague nod of his head in the general direction of the table.

After cutting the spool of white fabric free from the layers that wrapped his wound he struggled to tie the loose tail off behind his back before conceding and turning to Lavender.

Reckon those burnt hands of yours can still tie a bandage?” he asked.

She gave Clay a grateful nod when he showed her where the burn cream was.

Lavender took one glance at the tail of bandage and shrugged. ”I’ve done more complicated things.” She replied before she leaned over and fumbled a bit with the bandage, hissing quietly at the discomfort she experienced when it touched her raw skin and in the end she simply looped the bandage under and over the fabric which had already been wrapped around Clay’s stomach and tearing off a piece of medical tape (from god knows where) to ensure it wouldn’t fall off.

During this slightly slow process she avoided touching his skin as much as possible, though it was just inevitable as her hand brushed against some part of his body as she finished off tying the bandage.

Once his wounds were not leaking the dark liquid seemed to stabilize under the make-shift bandages that he had. Ghiar decided to slowly stand up and see how his body felt moving around. It was sore. The gash in his chest was probably not going to heal for a decent amount of time unless someone who had healing magic came across his path. Other than that, he decided to go back to work after cleaning up the mess from the table. Making sure there was nothing left or any stay spots of blood before heading back into the kitchen.

In the back of the tavern, he decided to get to everyone's orders. The small group of men that ordered before the event with the wraiths happened. Getting their meals done fairly quickly, Ghiar took them out and served the food to them, "Sorry about that wait." The men were all very understanding of the current event. Told Ghiar not to worry about it and thanked him.

Ghiar went around to other tables, seeing if anyone else needed anything. Whispering to himself, "What an interesting first day..." he chuckled to himself while taking caution with his wounds.

”Used to have a doc livin’ and working here.” Clay casually throws the words out there. Not directly speaking to Lavender but also not, not, speaking to her either. His back was to her as he put a thick paste on some slim white bandages and continued to verbalise his thoughts.
”Very odd fella but handy to have around. Set up a practice in his room, saw patients and treated people in this very tavern. Then.. Don’t rightly know what happened to him. Just suddenly wasn’t around anymore. Must of just up and left one day. No word, no trace. But that’s how things go around here.

Clay paused as he let out a sigh and slowly turned around. His eyes scanned that cold emotionless mask of hers. With a gentle nod of his head he gestured to the long strip of treated bandage that he held out, patiently awaiting her hand.

”Maybe he caught something off one of his patients or more likely he simply had enough. Hard game, helping others all the time.” Clay flashes a brief curious smile.
”He really could work miracles. Great man to be around when your dying, not so much when your sober.

Lavender hummed to show that she was listening. It was a shame that the doctor ‘used to’ live and work in the tavern. They might’ve come in handy during situations like the one that had transpired earlier.

Ah, he went to go get milk. She was a bit jealous he managed to just up and go like that, but it is what it is.

The fox faced woman stared at the strip of bandage he had offered her. To say she was surprised was an understatement. Lavender looked up to make eye contact (well, as much eye contact as she could with a mask on) and tried to ask him silently what the hell he wanted to do because dear gods above she was astounded. Astounded and confused.

Ouch. Doc sounded like someone people could easily exploit. Come running to him when you’re injured but ignore him entirely just because you dislike his personality.

Standing there for a while, Anya's daydream was cut short when she heard someone tell her to throw it away, so she just stuffed it into her pocket, for later use.

Scanning the tavern once more, she spotted the woman with the fox-face.
She didn't want to be rude, but she wanted to know why she wore a mask. Mustering up some courage, she crept towards, her with shaking legs.

It might've been the wraiths shaking her up like this, or the fact that she didn't have anyone to talk to- but she felt awfully scared for some reason.

@aia2022
"Uh-uhm, excuse me," the fae asked her the woman, "If it's not rude.. why do you wear a mask?"
She didn't think she'd ever been this scared before, for some weird reason.
Still, curiousity got the better of her, and she wanted to know.

@aia2022 Clay looked a bit confused, confused why Lavender was confused.
”It’s for your hand.” he insisted. ”Let me wrap it up.” he playfully chuckled.

”Was a neat trick, all that fire but it looks like even you can’t handle all that heat?” there was that devilish taunting grin again.

”New guy!” The shirtless lycan shouted while looking towards Ghair.
”Watch the bar will you, should be easy enough. This guy” and he pointed a big finger at a man in a deep black trench coat, wearing glasses and a funeral hat. ”is paying for all the drinks, get him a room if he needs it. The imps will know what to do.”

Clay took a deep swig of a bottle he found and then his eyes ran across the room before falling back on Lavender and Anya. He would say it was an odd place for a child to be but then again there was a god playing a game with itself and a six winged unimaginable hybrid creature simply surveying the room. It would be odd if there was nothing odd here, this was a place of oddities after all.

Ghiar looked over when someone shouted new guy, since he assumed that he was the only new associate working at the moment. Standing there, he was definitely distracted from what he was originally doing which wasn't much. "Oh. Yeah. Yeah, I can do that!" Ghiar seemed to get excited that he was asked to do something. He appreciated that he could be helpful.

Walking up and looking over to the man that the guy was pointing at, deep black trench coat, wearing glasses, and a funeral hat. "I think that is easy enough," Ghiar gave a faint smile. Remember to get the guy a room if he needs it. He stored that in his memory for now. Going behind the bar, he rocked on the balls of his feet while looking around.

Itotia walks up down the road and sees the Tavern sitting there up ahead. "Ah another place to show my skill. I wonder if this place will actually pay me properly this time. I am more then just a pretty face." She says playfully taking one paw and placing it under her chin. Her falcon Brave caws out as if to laugh at her. She looks over to Brave. "Well its true and your just being mean." She says before starting to pick up speed pulling her light cart, covered in a worn out tarp, containing her whole world. All that she has ever known is Entertainment. She was basically born and bred to be on the stage or preforming. She knew a small tavern could at least give her a place to stay for a while so she could rest from Traveling and who knows, maybe they take her on full time.

She keeps walking down the trail and stopping in front of the Tavern and starts going in her cart and placing all of her instruments together and making sure all of her valuables are with her. She hates leaving her cart alone but she knows she could run out here and stop who ever tries to take it. She then pushes open the tavern door and walks inside looking for anyone who can help her. She walks around for a while before finding a very well dressed man and assumed he must be the owner. "Hello. Are you looking to hire any entertainment?" She says holding up her harp and giving her best smile. "I can sing, dance, and play many instruments. I can do anything you would like." @Dark Light

Dorian, the finely dressed man sat in a corner of the tavern, feathered quill in one had elegantly scrawling across a fine white sheet of paper with a smooth fluency. Just as the extravagantly dressed Itotia approached him, he finalised his work with a full stop and gently dropped the quill back in the ink vial.

“Ah, pleasure to meet you.” He kindly said as he stood and gave an elegant bow. “Please forgive the formality, I prefer to leave agreements in words rather than paper but alas I must adjust to the times. Change is one thing that no one can fight off, not forever. I do hope you find the arrangement to your liking.”

He gave her a knowing grin, a warm smile, a caring look. But despite being as pleasant as one could be, he moved through the motions in a fluency like he had done it many times before, or simply knew exactly how everything was going to turn out.

Itotia would find his paper in her hand, it was a contract, and a fairly generous one, despite not being paid in any coins.
The hours were flexible and all food and accomodation was provided. She could even keep any tips made. In return she only need entertain the guests when the mood was right, be it through song, dance, story or conversation. And she need be willing to cover the bar at times.

Dorian politely awaited until her eyes had scanned the paper then held out a silver key on a small chain. “For your room.” He said, once again invitingly kindly. “You will find your things already there.”

”Ah, okay..?” She responded, still a little confused but otherwise clear on his intentions. Lavender would awkwardly hold out burnt hand for him to treat. Hey, she wasn’t used to being treated by other people, bare with her.

The fox faced woman resisted rolling her eyes and failed miserably though she knew Clay still couldn’t see her expression. ”I didn’t become fire proof when I got fire powers. If I did, I would have committed mass arson a long time ago.”

Lavender looked over the fae child that had approached her. Children were irritating (exception being the waiter boy she had met, where did he go?). Why were there so many in a tavern? ”Well, sometimes people want to hide their identity, or maybe they have something like a scar or similar that they don’t want people to see.” She explained somewhat gently, though there was a hint of annoyance in her tone.

She would glance around once again. A new patron had entered (and was possibly looking for a job, taking into consideration the contract in her hands). The space spirit was at behind the bar and not dead thankfully.

"Watch the bar huh? Of course. I own a tavern myself."

He stood up and took off his coat and dropped it on the ground, but it disappeared into the shadows. He did the same for his hat, it too disappeared into nothing. He then walked around to the other side of the bar. He took off his suit top and rolled up his white shirt sleeves.

"Who wants to do shots? I'm buying."

He snappes his figures and more gold coins appeared. He raised up one coin that was slightly bigger and had a skull in the center of it.

"If anyone can out drink me gets this lucky coin."

Itotia looked over the contract. She could fake the ability to read fluently but she could read enough to see the job came with a room but not any pay. That was pretty generous of the owner at least. She looked over to Brave then back to the owner seeing a small silver key. "I also have a small cart outside. Would it be okay outside or should I put it out back?" She asks holding out her long elegant paw as a way of shaking hands on the deal before she signs. "I promise you boss, that I will do everything I can to keep your guests happy." She says bowing her head as a sign of respect. She rarely was given a job so easily and she was going to work hard to stay. Even if she had to flirt with some people or live on tips. Better then living off scraps of food. After shaking hands she tries to hold the quill in her paw and signs her name as best she can only having very little education with reading and writing.

Maz's ears perked up when he heard the woman's exasperated tone and turned to face her. "If you did, you would also be dead, so I wouldn't recommend it, then or now." Maz chimes in, flipping a knife over and over with his hand. "Plus, you wouldn't be here to help us stop this stupid bother of an attack." he finished, laughing. "Thank goodness that's over." he muttered quickly. "Oh! How rude of me to not give my name. Maz Guilbrook, Traveling Mercenary, at your service! I'd ask you to try to be cordial in this place. It's not like any of us have a problem with you!"

Dorian takes her hand with a firm but gentle grasp. With a glimmer in his eyes he speaks.
”Pleasure to have you aboard, I have taken the liberty to have your possessions located in your room for you already. The cart is stored just out the back. I do look forward to enjoying your entertainment.”

He then gives an acknowledging nod to her bird as he studies it for a short moment with curious eyes.
”I’m sure you will find all you need, but if you have any questions at all, don’t be afraid to ask.”

Brave tilts his head back and forth as the manager looks at him before chirping happily so almost say hello in a way as Itotia how's her head. "I appreciate it and will be sure to ask if I need anything." She says before looking over to see the stage and immediately getting to work. She started laying out her instruments one by one before grabbing her small harp and starting to place a peaceful number looking around the bar using her tail to push a small jar on the edge of the bar by her feet as she had done in many towns before. Brave flys off her shoulder and sits on top of her drum watching his master play.

With the peaceful music gentle thrumming off the walls, Dorian smiled as a new air filled the tavern. As his eyes scanned the room the tavern regenerated any damage before his gaze, and once again it was as good as new. The only signs of the recent carnage was the injuries and wounds still carried from it, and a few less patrons of course.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a single golden coin. It glimmered with the reflective light of the nearby candles.
Shooting a smile at Itotia, he gave her an approving nod before placing the coin into her jar. Her very first tip. @themadhatter420

He watched as Clay shirked his duties and confusingly relinquished control to two others so he could play doctor with a foxed-masked lady. Or maybe he was playing family with that child. Dorian didn’t rightly care, as long as there was at least a moments peace before his brothers antics would cause chaos again. Oil and water they had always been. Chaos and order.

With a precursors glance, Dorian studied the unusual mythic creature and absorbed the happenings of the god-like beings game with itself. It seemed to be an interesting bout.

Ah, the person who abruptly ended the wraith fight. She kept her head positioned so that it seemed her line of view was looking at her being bandaged hand as he went on and on. He seemed quite talkative, not unlike some very annoying people she had met during her travels.

Maz Guilbrook, hm? Lavender thought he might have subconsciously been herding any listeners to his side if an argument came up with the exclusive use of ‘us’. She acknowledged that he might just also want peace, so perhaps the former could just be paranoia. ”I feel no need to give you my name, but I do give my thanks for you telling me your’s.” Lavender said quietly, barely just loud enough to be heard.

She would glance around once more, finding the black clothed man from earlier who had paid for the drinks of the entire tavern was now entertaining said tavern. Lavender also noted that the feline from earlier was now playing a peaceful tune on a stage she had not noticed before. The fox-faced woman had to admit, she was quite skilled in the art of music. An experienced bard, perhaps.

The fae child had not yet responded, a very finely dressed man had glanced at them earlier, and not much was going on at the moment. A nice change from the battle that had occured just now.

So where were you trying to go?” Clay asked in his low gravelly voice. “Guessing it wouldn’t let you leave yet?” His eyebrows raised with the question but he was examining his bandages.
”Glad it didn’t.” he mumbled softly.

Then he didn’t have much to say, or do for that matter. He just lean back on the bar and looked about.
