"I don't know how much research he's done but I'd rather avoid anyone you've been know to associate with." Roxy told him. It wasn't likely that her father had done much research. Not yet but he would. It was best to leave as little trail as possible. She had no idea how they found this place. By all logic it should have been low on their list. She didn't believe it was chance they had gotten so close.

"Not the safest place to access the chip but I can't think of anything else." Roxy answered. They would have to find a place to access the chip. Wyn mentioned an internet Cafe. She was sure there was on it as a college town but that would cost. While she had funds they would have to go towards lodging and food. "Maybe a library. Some have those rooms were we would have some privacy."

Wyn shrugged, gazing out the window for a bit. "Just let me know when you get desperate, I guess."

"That's another," he then commented in response to her suggesting a library. "Just a place where we wouldn't be cornered if your dad finds us, and considering how quick he was to locate us back there, we'd likely have to do some running after looking at what's on that, wherever we decided to do it."

He turned back to her after some time. "If you were after the chip too, then surely you must have at least some idea about what's on that thing. Some sort of blackmail material? A bunch of your dad's embarrassing childhood photos?"

He chuckled at his last remark. The joke may or may not have lightened the overall mood, but having such entertaining images of the man responsible for the deaths of his biological parents in his head was helping him cope with the current situation. However, he was unsure how well he would do if he saw him again in person, and he had a strong feeling that was going to happen, eventually.

"I don't know if there's a place where we won't be pinned." Roxy told him honestly. Her father was a powerful and smart. He would be careful they didn't escape once he found her. She considered herself resourceful but she didn't know if she could out think her father. The fact that she had been his right hand man for most of her life gave her an insight on how he thought but that clearly wasn't enough. Not when he had found her within forty-eight hours of her finding Wynn.

"I have no clue what's on it." She told him honestly. Her guess was image he used for blackmailing others. Or proof of some crime. Whatever it was it was important to him. At least he wanted possession of it. It didn't matter why or what it was. It would buy her freedom. She was determined to have control of her life.

Wyn scoffed when she mentioned that she did not know a place where they would be safe taking a look at what was on the disc. "I take that back. You sound pretty desperate already. I should have said 'When you get desperate enough'."

He let out a sigh at her response to his question about what the chip was about, but decided to bite his tongue about it otherwise. They had only known each other for less than a day, so he still was not sure where her boiling point was. The situation was stressful enough as it was, and he would not put a mafia princess above snapping and murdering him if he got on her nerves too much. Then again, if he had meant that little to her, she would have had already tossed him aside the moment they had found the chip. It was likely that she needed the disc just as a trade-off for something her father had over her, but it was definitely worth constantly being on the run for, at least to her.

"I guess whichever place we find to check that thing out doesn't matter then," he remarked. "We just have to keep our guards up while doing so and be ready to run."

"I'm not desperate. I don't care what's on the disc." Roxy assured him. That was a half truth. It didn't matter to her what the material was. What matter was that her father wanted it backly enough to chase her. If it wasn't important or threatening he would just let her have it. He knew she wouldn't do anything to endangered Drake.

"A place with more than one exit would be beneficial but a public place might be our only option." Roxy checked behind them but didn't see any lights. But there was only one road so they hadn't lost them yet. She relaxed when she saw a fork in the road. She took the left road the more branches the harder it would be for them to be found.

The drive, although swift, had been uneventful. The longer they spent on the road, the more distant the threat of the crime boss and his gang catching up to them seemed to get. It would probably still have helped to stay alert, but drifting away was tempting, especially to seek some relief from the memories of last night's events. Kirk had likely figured out that he was in trouble, since he had not returned to their dormitory the night before, and he was sure that his entire cohort would know he was missing by the afternoon. How was he going to explain this one? Provided he was eventually going to return to his life, of course. The thought of that not happening was simply too much to handle at the moment.

"You're not? So you don't actually need to see what's on it, or...?" He asked in confusion, still unsure of where they were going. "I mean, we're still looking for a place to access it, aren't we? Well, if they don't want to cause a scene like you've said, then a public place should be as good as any."

He noticed when the road split into two. It would help if, again, her father did not have some device tracking the chip itself. Even if that were the case, it depended on how many vehicles were after them. They did not have a chance to have a look at that detail. Multiple cars could split up at a fork like the one they had just passed.

"So does your dad usually travel with like, a whole convoy?"

"Seeing it would help but no. I don't really care what's on it. What matters is that my father wants it and I have it." It gave her power. Something she she needed. She had just gained control of her life she wasn't going to lose it but she knew if she didn't have some kind of edge that she would lose it. It had been crumbling under her when she had learned of the chip.

"No he doesn't travel with a convey but he does gave several people that he can send after us." Hopefully if they lost them and stayed away from places either of them knew they might be able to avoid capture. Honestly she hadn't thought beyond getting the chip. She hadn't thought she would be acquire it as quickly as she did. "I haven't really thought this out." She admitted. She hadn't planned on having to consider another person.

"I'd say it's definitely worth checking out," he replied. "If we can, of course. I don't know how, but the best way I can think of to go about this is finding a safe place to check that thing out, at least for a while, and then contacting your dad for a deal. If it's something he wants because he's trying to keep it private, we threaten to make it public, and if it's information he needs for himself, we threaten to destroy it. What exactly are you trying to get from him anyway? I mean, I already know that you're some mafia princess, so I highly doubt your answer would surprise me."

He figured he would be safe once her father knew that the disc was no longer with him, but he had mixed feelings about Roxy. Sure, he never asked to be snatched off the street and pulled back into this mess, but surely she had never asked to have such a life either? Granted, her approach could have been better, but that did not matter now. Something was keeping him from leaving her in the lurch, even if he was going to have the opportunity to do so before this was all over. Perhaps he was looking for closure he never knew he wanted.

"Regardless, if we want to access it, we have to do it soon. I can foresee my face being on the local news by tomorrow, and then we'll have to do everything else in hiding somewhere. This vehicle of yours is going to run out at some point as well. We might be able to create a diversion to mislead your dad's people when we ditch this. If you haven't though it out, I guess now's as good of a time for us to as any."

"You wouldn't understand." Roxy answered. How could he. He had had a normal life. At least from the little that she knew about him. She didn't think most people could understand. They had to be in a place where they had little to no control." She laughed when he called her a mafia princess. He was so close that it was almost funny.

"I suppose I'm a dethroned princess." She wasn't willing to open up to a stranger. Even one who was cooperating with her when he had little reason to do so. She thought he was safer with her than on his own. "I'm hoping that I can find a place to safely store this little chip." He had had it for years without anyone knowing. So hopefully she could do the same. She had no idea how to keep her freedom or gain access to her brother.

"So... you want your throne back?" He guessed, and then paused for a moment. "Come on, I was in this whole thing the moment you shoved me into this exact van the night before. You can't stop now. You want to at least attempt an explanation?"

He was not angry, or even frustrated, at least not with her. He understood that she was tensed due to what was going on. He hoped that an inviting tone would help her relax and share a little more with someone she was going to be stuck with for a while. In addition, this was potentially his problem too if it involved his biological father and an item he had unknowingly had on him since his change of identity. He just did not expect to end up on the illegal side of it, and there was probably something illegal going on currently since Roxy had decided to abduct him instead of going to the cops about her issues.

"Store it? Have you figured out how you're going to reach your dad or his peeps about it?"

Roxy snorted. "Hell no." The minute her father tried to force her to marry his partner she had lost interest. She wouldn't have people in her life that she didn't trust. "That bridge has been burnt." There was no way back. She had made peace with that. She was building a new life. She wanted to keep that life. That was her goal. "I suppose the easiest way to explain it is to say that I want keep my freedom. This chip is my best option." There was nothing else. At least not to my knowledge.

Wyn raised an eyebrow at her. "So freedom as long as you have that thing, right... Seems like you're going to have to keep running from your dad, and the cops, while always keeping an eye on the chip. I don't know, doesn't sound like much freedom to me, unless there's something you're still not telling me. You planning to eventually sneak out of the country, go somewhere way too remote for anyone to track you, live the rest of your days as someone else? I mean, if you've got the means to do that, I'll stop worrying, but I highly doubt you do."

He leaned back in his seat, glancing at the fuel meter. "We're running out, by the way, slowly but surely. Wherever you plan to stop, I hope we're almost there."

"It's not a great plan." Roxy admitted. She knew it sucked but it was what she had. She saw an opportunity and took it. It was what she had been trained to do. She wasn't a planner. She had never needed to be. She had no idea what to do. She only knew going to the authorities, at this in this state, was a waste of time. She didn't think making the information public would benefit anyone. "Right." She agreed glancing at the gage. She took the next exit that showed a gas station. "I suppose we should eat too."

"Well, not great for someone who can't pull it off, I'll say," he stated. "Hate to be pessimistic, but that definitely sounds like you. With all other options not being ideal, the one thing left we've yet to try is accessing that disc. That might be your best chance in getting somewhere."

He was confused at her next response. She seemed pretty relaxed all of a sudden, though he could only tell through her words considering how stoic she was most of the time. Making a stop was not a bad idea if they had lost whoever it was they needed to lose on the road. He watched as she turned them into a gas station to refuel and take a break. It seemed to be connected to a convenience store and a small cafe.

"Sure, if you think we have the time, or if you're sure we're not being followed anymore."

Roxy shrugged. "Either we lost them or we didn't. They will figure out where we went eventually." She pointed out. Wyn was right just having the damn chip wasn't going to help. She should have thought about this before acting but damn it she had seen an opportunity and tried for it. She hadn't thought how to use the chip once she had it. She didn't know if finding out would help her or not. She couldn't see how it could make a difference. But she wouldn't know until she found out was on the chip. Than maybe she could figure out how to use it. If she couldn't she would have to figure out something else out.

"I'm guessing you're fairly certain that 'eventually' isn't soon?" He enquired. "I don't know how you know, but I figured that we wouldn't be casually stopping here for a break otherwise."

It was quite clear from Roxy's responses that she did not have a plan, and he would not have been surprised if she was internally freaking out about the entire situation. Either that or whatever life she had led up till now had caused her to always go numb as a response to being in fixes such as this one. Regardless, if there was a time to start panicking it would have probably been right there and then, but what good would that have done? He could only hope that they were both at least decent at winging it should the time come for them to do so.

"So what, you planning on robbing this place blind and booking it?"

He would not put that past her, considering everything else she seemed to be involved in. In which case, he would still be noted as a hostage instead of her accomplice, right? His sympathy for her aside, he was still with her mainly because it was his best chance of staying alive, after all.

"As you pointed out we need gas soon so it doesn't really matter." Roxy pointed out as she pulled into a gas station. They had about a fourth of a tank of gas. They could have gone a few more miles but not many. She was hungry so he probably was too. She had to take care of him. She knew he was staying because he wanted to. She just wasn't sure why he wanted to. It wasn't her personality. She had never been a people person. She had been raised to be a spy which rarely lead her to interacting. She pulled up to a pump and got out.

"I mean, I kind of figured that we were more in a situation where we had to just ditch this van when it ran out and hide somewhere, but since you say it's alright to do something like stop for gas, then sure, that's preferable," he muttered, leaning back in his seat.

Since the sense of urgency in the atmosphere had somehow been alleviated, he currently had the liberty to really take it all in and be fascinated by both Roxy and the mess she had pulled him into. In a good or bad way, however, he had not decided yet. She had seemed way too nonchalant for the trouble she had said she was in for a while now, and it was difficult to tell if she was hiding something important from him, or if she had just suddenly decided to give up on it all somewhere along their whole adventure thus far.

Regardless, he knew he would not be able to feel settled going back to his life being aware that there were people out there who knew his real identity. He laughed to himself thinking about how his definition of 'real' had been so different just the day before. He had just about convinced himself that he was no one other than the popular college kid from a stable home, but he now knew that his past was not going to just disappear, and he might as well see this through till the end.

"Stealing a car would only attract more attention." Roxy pointed out as she parked the car. She hadn't even considered stealing if she was completely honest. She could do it. She had learned how to hot wire cars. But she didn't want some innocent person to be pulled into the mess. Not if she could help it. Right now she wasn't willing to risk anyone else.

"I'll understand if you take this opportunity to take off." Roxy told him as she turned the van off. She was surprised he was still with her if she was honest. "You might be able to hide until this passes over. Or try your luck with the police." She shrugged as she got out and headed towards the gas pump.

"What? You think you can just dump me after getting what you want?" He humorously retorted. "Didn't think you'd be stuck with me after finding that disc, did you sunshine?"

He laughed in his head yet again, thinking that his current situation would be one deemed as karma by his girlfriend, or ex-girlfriend. He did not really know what to call her, since she did say that the 'break' they were on meant that they could see other people. She had accused him of flirting with one of the girls who performed with him at the bar, but that had been just it, a performance. He was not one to use a girl only to dump her later, even though that was what she had said. Sure, he was sticking with Roxy in hopes getting to the root of his problem with this criminal organization, but that had been thought of only after he had started feeling some sort of concern for her.

"I mean, what's the point? My life is already screwed again. They're just going to take me from this place, plant me somewhere else, with a whole new identity and backstory. I can't stop running until your dad and whoever else he's working with gets caught. I might as well have an adventure while I still get to be, you know, me."
