Seattle. City of Clouds. The Emerald City.. This city goes by many names. To those that live in this beautiful City by the Sea, it's simply "Home". Home to families, friends, Doctors, Lawyers, Business Owners. Also home to criminals - rapists, murderers, sex traffickers, child exploiters. Somewhere among those Business Owners, and criminals, are the Detectives that live every day trying to keep this city of many names safe. These are the stories of those Detectives..

"The Sleuth's Report" is a Detective roleplay scenario set in modern day Seattle, Washington. This will be an open Role Play with guidance when needed. You will play Detectives for the Seattle PD, and you'll be in control of where you go, who you talk to, what you do, and when you do it - I will be there to help guide you along the way when it is needed, through NPC interaction. These are your stories that you are very literally writing as you go. Every choice you make will affect you, and your story - so you'll want to be cautious with your decisions.

Looking for a max of 4 players at this time who will play Detectives in the Seattle PD, investigating various crimes that take place through the city. This roleplay will be something of an "episodic" scenario, wherein each investigation will be it's own stand alone story that we roleplay through to the end, at which point the next investigation, or "episode" will take place. I will play the Chief of Police to work with you all through out the roleplays as needed.

Basic Role Play rules apply -
These are your stories..all of your's - please be courteous of other players, and don't jump ahead too much, or use their Character without their permission.

You're just a Detective, not a Psychic - you don't know who did it, or what someone will say; don't take control of NPC and ruin the game. Leave the NPC to myself. unless otherwise stated.

Quality over Quantity - I would prefer everyone to post regularly, but not with rushed, low quality posts. One decently detailed, quality post will make me smile much more then a ton of short, rushed posts with no content in them at all.

You're a team, work together - You are all on the same team, take the time to work together towards your mission. PM each other before posting to work out your RP together. This will not only keep Role Plays detailed and interesting having multiple Characters in one post, but also keep you all interested and having more fun by having your Characters work together.

Once all CS are posted, I will randomly choose one CS - that CS will be the Lead Detective starting our Role Play. I will randomly pick each CS thereafter for each Rank. Depending on things with, and in the Role Play, there are possibilities of being promoted Ranks!

Name: Delaney Jade Barlowe aka DJ

Background: DJ had been raised by a lovely foster family since the time she was born. Until she turned thirteen and discovered boys. Her life quickly went from picture perfect family outings to a life on the run.
At the age of fourteen, she had been living on the streets as a runaway. Pick pocketing and sweet smiles kept her fed and alive, if you could call her life anything worth living. As she matured she found herself a burly man named Clifford who would pimp her out to any Joe willing to overlook her young age. DJ had to develop a thick skin and a tough spine just to stay mentally sane.
When she turned twenty-two, she finally had enough. Enough of the constant drinking, drugs, beatings. She got her GED and vowed to never let another little girl slip through the cracks as she had. That vow turned into joining the police academy and rising to the top of her class. It didn't take her long after that to climb the ranks to Detective.

Skills: Rapport with street people, able to easily read body language, somewhat of a human lie detector.

Additional Info: Very difficult to trust others. Always believes everyone has a hidden agenda.

I'm going to give just a little more time to see if I can maybe get the other person who expressed interest, and if not we will proceed with just you and I!

I will make a CS either for just the Chief, or Chief and Captain both, because the squad needs a Captain.

I am also thinking about working on a sort of "Mental" system for the squad, which would be affected by the mental stresses of the case, things that happen during the case, and even things that could happen to or from other people who interact with the squad. Thoughts on this?

@AlphaRomeoSounds good to me. Any type of police work is bound to have the mental stresses that go along with it.

Yes we are. Sorry, we had a bout of Strep run through our house. But I’m back to full strength and will have a intro up soon!

We’ll be using a dice system for effects of mental stress on our Detectives. I’ll roll to see if there are effects or not, if there are then I’ll roll to see the intensity of the effects. You won’t have to worry about anything for any of that, I’ll do it behind the scenes and share the outcome.

This will keep it more natural and less in the hands of any of us to mess with how we see fit.
