The sandwhich debaccle was settled once Pete's Rockruff was offered more food, which in turn made Giri less territorial over her own. she slowly relaxed in Jean's arms with her hissing sounds turning into chirping of appeasement. The conversation then went on to more recent and relatable topics, more specifically the treassure hunt. While the whole concept of the treasure hunt, and the teachers expectations on what they would do during it were a bit unclear to him still, he was still set on discovering new recipes he could bring back home to kalos. Maybe he could even open a themed restaurant at some point.
Pete's plans seemed to be relatively intertwined with his own, as he was going to be looking for something called Herba Mystica. Jean had read about it in one of the books in the schools library, but his knowledge of them was pretty limited. He knew enough to know that they had a variety of functions when used in cooking though, which had piqued his interest on its own. Pete then went on to talk to his Rockruff, who had turned their attention to another student in the cafeteria. Jean then started packing away his gear and recalled Giri to her Poke Ball.

Some time later, Jean was standing in the schoolyard where director Clavell was addressing the students in regards to the treasure hunt. Pete had slipped away from him while he was packing up, but he had had no issues finding his way to the assembly on his own, even though he was a bit later than he would have preferred. As Jean had guessed, the treasure hunt was about as vague as he had expected. Would any of this be on their finals? Would this Be their finals? Was there even a way to fail this? A pamphlet would be nice.. Regardless, the students were now more or less free to go, and as he stood there pondering, the students gradually went on their way, either alone or on groups.
"So.. Where do we go now, huh?" Jean pondered to no one in particular. Ribbit stood close to him looking a bit uncomfortable. Maybe he didn't like big crowds or something. Regardless, he let out a low croaking sound while looking around tensly.
"Maybe we should get a map.." Jean continued. He knew they sold them in the schools general store, and he didn't have a fancy pokemon trainer gadget with a built-in map like most of the other students here had.
While standing there looking like a lost duckling, he was suddenly tackled by something, which threw him off guard. Ribbit also shrieked, having been startled byt the sudden turn of events. Looking down, the secret assassin had been noone else other than Luna the Rockruff from earlier. Had she ran off, or had Pete sent her out to search for him? Judging by the way she signaled him to follow her, he assumed it was the latter. Jean and Ribbit then followed Luna.
As expected, Luna led them straight to where Pete was, although he wasn't alone. There was an energetic guy clad in red there next to him, and they were chatting while presumably waiting for Jean to arrive. Luna barked happily and looked very proud, almost presenting Jean to Pete when they came over.
"Hello again.", Jean said.
"I lost you when i was cleaning up after our previous meeting, sorry about that.". He then continued.
"I don't really know the paldean landscape that well, so if you still want to look for those Herba Mystica together i could really use the company.". the air was a bit awkward as he looked for the right words to use, but Ribbit gave him a supportive pat on the back.
He then addressed the red guy standing next to Pete. He had seen the guy around the school a few times before, but he had never talked to him.
"Hi. I don't think i've had the pleasure. My name's Jean.". He also extended a hand for a handshake.
