Sorry my character still isn't done. I was going to finish him but then I got in some fight with a douche and it sadly took up my entire day.

Sibling Nurses. To save you some trouble (and for plot reasons) I have designed new-arrival teams for Buck and Jean. Each character is assigned to a nurse by name IC, but if you missed yours on the read-through, here’s a list:



Buck and Jean’s part of the post describes the circumstance under which your character will wake. Those of you on Buck’s team will likely receive a fairly gentle wake-up, considering things to come. Those of you dealing with Jean’s team are more likely to be cursed at, your lights will be flipped on basically at dawn, if you don’t get up you might be poked or pulled out of bed, etc. You will only work with these assigned nurses for today. They will introduce your character to the surroundings: they will answer general questions about the place’s name, circumstance (that it’s a hospital for supernatural loonies, can accept patients from literally everywhere, etc.), and they will escort your patient around the place throughout the day. They will not tell you very much about the origins of the Institute, what sort of dimension it’s in, any information about the city below, and they will not answer any personal questions about themselves or their history at the asylum. If you’re not sure about something in this sense, please run it by me before posting.

When your patient wakes up tomorrow, and for all your use of NPC nurses thereafter, your Sibling's particulars will be up to you. You can use the same one every day, or you can make a new one for each morning. Whatever floats your boat.

Cadence’s part of the post is intended to show the sort of wake-up your patient will be having in two or three days. Your first post should be on par with her timeline, and should end with your patient in the cafeteria between six and eight-thirty AM. Jean’s patients, having received a rude wake-up, will likely run earlier than Buck’s. The cafeteria will be your first chance to interact with other patients. After showing the way to the steam lines, nurses will watch you from a distance, and only intervene if they think that shit is about to hit the fan.

Cadie and Jax are also intended to show you something. Can you see it?

Edit: One more thing I forgot: the cafeteria has whatever food your patient needs. There is one steam line for patients like Jax and Cadie, who eat food which is generally considered not disgusting. There is a separate steam line for patients who eat live food, raw meat, blood, anything generally considered disgusting. (For instance; Buck, Simone, and Nell would probably eat from the 'gross' line, if they ate at all. Not sure about Rak and Anya. Dante, Sasha, and Alice would probably eat from the 'not gross' line.)

Now, on to a few other issues.

@ Vampiric: Alice is approved. If she lashes out too badly, there’s a vicious collar in her future. With bells that sound like screams, and vibrations that make her head feel like it’s gonna explode if she tries to use any of her powers. Don’t make me do it. ;)

@ El_Tigre: As I am writing this, you haven’t finished your sheet. I could be a b*tch and tell you that I did two patient sheets in one day, and everyone else got theirs turned in. But since you came to the thread a little late, and since you went ahead and helped me out with gender equality, and since I’m a little familiar with your capabilities as a writer, I will give you until Sunday night to finish Dante. You also may not post to the IC until your CS has been finished and approved. (I feel like I’m being too stern and not stern enough. What? See also: I'll PM you.)

I have already posted the IC and the Plot Disclosure update regarding the Sibling Nurses. I should be lurking around all night to answer any questions you may have. I apologize for all the reading, and can only promise you that once we get in to full-swing posting everything will be shorter. >.<

Short stick?? Is that some sort of Jab at Buck's height?? Maiden, if I were you I would up Rak's "therapy" sessions. :P It's not nice to poke fun at people because they are short. xD

What sort of short stick do you mean, Syblyx? Did you not want to get brutalized this morning? Really, what happens to the patient is up to you. It can be as good or as bad as you want it to be. Kyle doesn't have to turn the lights on, and maybe Rak's come on more dimly at first. (*Has nervous GM moment that player is already not having fun*) Or are you joking and it's just not coming through in text?

@ Tigre: Buck is not really sensitive about his height, nor does he have a Napoleon complex. He likes that he's not big and intimidating, because it makes people underestimate him. Buck is a sneaky bastard.

Oh please, I am enjoying this already. I had no idea torturing your own characters was so much fun! In fact there should be rules against it, like the opposite of god-modding. And yes, I was joking.

Anyways, I made my post. After comparing characters to yours (24000 character to 3500) I felt like I am underdoing it. Let me know if the length's okay. I also made opportunity for another character to introduce themselves. First come first serve.

P.S. Also, if my post confuses, it has an odd mix of first person and third person. Not sure where my loyalties lie.

EDIT: When I first read the IC, I was a tad disappointed that I got Jean's team. However, I realize now that my guy is probably the least fragile, so I am glad to take the pain for the guys with a weaker body. Also, the numbers he spews about how long he has left to live, are completely made up. He has no idea.

O>O My bad, I figured they'd at least know the name of where they're staying. I didn't think it was an important enough detail to hide from Rak. If the name of the institute is that secretive, I am more than happy to edit it out.

EDIT: You're right, he probably wouldn't have heard much considering his, uh, incident, this morning. Although it doesn't seem like something he wouldn't know, I can edit in a small paragraph of him overhearing that the institute is Osmond's. Also, is it more than just the fact he knows the name? Finding powerful friends is a natural instinct, especially if that's how he's been treated. Again, I can include more into his thought process, but the significance is lost on me.

It's okay, Syblyx. You're just anxious to kick the game off with a bang, which gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. A few edits, and you'll be right as rain. :)

Awesome start guys! I havent had a chance to catch up on all the finished characters but I will make a point to go through them all when I next get the chance! Maiden, I'll shoot you a PM tomorrow about how to start off BuckxAniella interaction (I don't particularly want to assume what Buck would say and posting without him entering would be too painfully short for me to manage :P) Perhaps we can have a brief "intro" through PMs that I can integrate into my opener? 7

Tigre, I gotta say, I really like that backstory. Was not expecting murder and cannibalism, nicely done! I guess it sort of means that Dante isn't so much schitzo as cursed, but that's also the sort of blurred line we like to see around here. :) He's approved, I'll add ya to the player list here shortly!

I am housesitting at the moment and the internet is so rubbish it is breaking my heart, thankfully I am going home tonight to my stable internet and decent water pressure (blessed decent water pressure) so I will post in the IC once I have clean hair. I have Rapunzel length hair, it needs decent water pressure to be washed properly. At the moment it is all icky and greasy.
