Unfortunate but understandable. I'm sure I'll pitch something else they might find of interest in the new future, once this one is up and running.

That is the most focused list of Skills I've ever seen.

Would you advise against being so focused?

Not at all; the party exists for a reason.

Very good. Apparently everyone is using the second person now.

Just as I had planned, I mean...

If anyone needs a bit of structure for their mechanical sheet while I bash my head on the coding you can use this.

I will do a pass at a CS using that linked format.

Doesn't really matter all that much to me if we have character sheets formatted for this forum.

Updated the setting info doc with details of the actual Stormspires, for the interested.

If anyone has observations, questions, or criticisms about the setting so far feel free to share.

Trolls may become Magi, Fader, Arcanotechs, Monks, or Inquisitors, but lose their connection to Mother.

I get why the first four would sever the connection, what with them being magic and all, but why does joining the anti-magic organization also do that?

Editing artifact from a time when the Inquisition operated on different mechanics. Joining the Inquisition now is just cause for exile as they're a foreign org and it's seen as a dereliction of a Troll's spiritual duty

None yet, but I'm sure I'll hit you up with some mechanical questions shortly.

Got a bit busy but should have time to do some writing tonight and tomorrow.

No problem.

Wouldn't mind everyone putting posts in the Character section with a link to the gdoc and maybe the text of their character writeup.
It'll help everyone settle on their place, I think, and we can start considering how you all met and why you're working together.
Remember- strong personal motivations for your character are important. I have an overarching plot in mind but this isn't just my show, we're here together.

@Benzaiten, do you have a better idea of what you'd like to play? Still want help with the mechanics?

Hmm I'll link my quick reference mechanics sheet in the first post.

@Excession I do not have a better idea right now but I am also not home currently and therefor don't have much brain space to think on it. I have to look over the ideas I listed again and narrow it down. And I like to know what others chose and perhaps what ship we chose (I think the bio-ship is locked in?).

We went with Necroshipin the end!
But there's no hurry at all, I just don't want to leave anyone behind. Look it over when you have the energy.
For your convenience:
Our illustrious Goblin captain
An exile Troll seer
A wandering Elemental Monk
A Lybarim doctor

@Excession Tbh if we are going Necroship, I will likely lock in Necro Tree as my character :P The ship works best with a necromancer on board I read (is that correct?) and I like the idea of a necro dryad.

Edit: Mind giving me a lore dumb on Necromancers and their standing? I read the bit that was available in the document with the different magic and all. Maybe you have some more? Also about the World Beyond the Veil (I don't recall how you call it)?

Pretty much all I have on paper right now is the Necromancer blurb and the breakdown of powers in that doc, their role in Kaer and the Stormcircle societies, and this bit about the World Without Sun:

Necromancers tend to be free spirited artistic types, so you can find them more or less anywhere doing what they like to do best. The two most common places to find them are the necroanarchies of the Stormcircle where they maintain the foundations of those settlements, or in the Necrocommunist Union of Kaer where they form the ranks of The Central Party.
When they need money, they can sell various services like:
- Bonework grafts
- Bonework machines
- Murder investigations
- Legal advocacy, allowing ghosts to appear at relevant trials
- Psychopomp services, helping ghosts pass on
- Exorcism of violent ghosts
- Archaeology (not very profitable without a patron)
- Necromantic maintenance; of ships, of bone golems, of grafts, spell wards, etc.

With Chwegwn, I'm thinking he met all the others when he was looking for a crew. He then sussed out their motivations and offered them a deal: He'd help them achieve their motivations if they joined his crew. And that's why he's working with them.

I am open to discussing this idea in detail if you'd like, actually plot out how the characters met and such. I've gotta drop my dude in the appropriate tab still. Not gonna lie, as of this moment I still don't have a name lmao. But I've got most the rest, just gotta redo the stats. Underspent my points whilst over worrying about overspending. Probably gonna go drop the link after this post, fix stats tomorrow.

Anyways I'm rambling, totally down to discuss the details of Chwegwn and aforementioned unnamed Lybarim doctor's relationship. Or should I say relationships? Honestly the way goblins are done in this is fascinating.

Sounds good to me. I imagine Chwegwn coming upon your guy during a display of his medical and alchemical skill. Seeing his use as a doctor and his profit potential as a drugs manufacturer, Chwegwn would determine his motivations and approach him later with an offer. Chwegwn would provide him with safety from his pursuers and funding for hedonism and alchemy. In exchange, he would serve on Chwegwn's ship as its doctor and set aside a portion of the drugs he makes for sale on the black market.

You think that'd stand as a convincing bargain by his reckoning?

I can work with that, what say they originally met up around the coast of the stormcircle when he was first looking for an escape from the mainland? Mayhaps they've been crewing together for a short while and have a bit of an established background together already?

I have a map of questionable accuracy somewhere but I should add a geographical synopsis.

Awakend Wood is the geographical center of the main continent, surrounded by the Stormcircle. Stormcircle is bordered to the noth by the Hell's Teeth mountain range, to the west by the Hungry Mire and the border of Kaer, to the south by the coast of the Slumbering Sea, and to the east by the Bulwark - a great wall to keep out the Curse.
Beyond Kaer and the Mire is the peninsula where the Iron Citadel lies.
Beyond Hell's Teeth is the City-Engine, and further north of that is the astutely named North Sea, beyond which is Trollhaven.
Past the Bulwark are the Curselands, which contain Shaydensea in their northern region, Throne on the east coast, Castle Grudgeonghast south of Shaydensea before you hit the Imperial Highway.
The House of Sighs is tucked away in the foothills of the Teeth, a bit northwest of Shaydensea.

In the Shaydensea are the floating islands populated by pirates, outcasts, and weirdoes - Kontina, Moonbend (home of the great library where Vampire Clan Ithim dwell), Perdition, The Black Rose...
