Everything that could ever happen, happens. And everything that could never happen, happens. Such is the nature of the Multiverse. From time immemorial, different realities had been aware of each other and attempted to interfere with one another. Whole factions would form that travel the Multiverse, either enslaving those they encountered, raiding all their resources, or worse. As such alliances were formed, with the purpose of protecting select realities. But the Multiverse is infinitely big and no one could account for what goes on across it.
Seemingly emerging from nowhere, Ad Infinitum is a corporation based outside of reality itself. Operating out of the Station, a massive city that floats in unreality, the history and purposes of this company is shrouded in secrecy. Seemingly in contact with countless realities, they can be hired to fix someone’s issues, dispatching agents to deal with any missions given to them.
While the higher ups are a mystery, the agents of Ad Infinitum are not. Recruited from different realities that are about to be destroyed or otherwise ruined, these skilled individuals are given a second chance if they work at the company. Generally paired together with a partner, these agents start at a low ranking, but can improve it with successful missions. It is assumed that the higher one’s ranking, the more they know about the truth of the company.
After a recent batch of mass hirings, Ad Infinitum is left with many new agents. Pairing them together quickly, they are almost immediately sent on their first mission.
