Physical Description: A brunette with blue eyes. She is not too tall, measuring only up to 5’4. Jennifer has a tongue ring she wears whenever she’s off duty. Typical professional attire consists of dress pants, a long sleeve button-up, and depending on the weather, a peacoat, gloves, a scarf, and comfortable boots. Jennifer can otherwise be seen with her hair down in comfortable lounge attire if she's running errands or visiting family or friends. She doesn't have any tattoos and has only a minor scar on her wrist from a previous tussle with a notorious career criminal.
Element: Water
Occupation: Detective
Personality: Jennifer is at times outgoing and at times a loner, it all depends on her mood. She enjoys telling stories and joking around with her lifelong friends at the bar just as much as she can enjoy a glass of wine in her apartment cuddled up alone watching Netflix. Being she comes from a family filled with law enforcement officers, Jennifer was raised in a structured environment and that led her to develop OCD-like tendencies. Or in other words, she's a neatfreak. Currently single after a bit of a disastrous break up with her ex-fiance, Jennifer is not afraid to be a bit of a flirt whenever she finds herself in the presence of an attractive man.
Background: Born and raised in Chicago as many previous generations within her lineage, Jennifer has never known life elsewhere save for the days or weeklong vacations she's taken in the past. She grew up alongside her older brother who is two years her senior, and that automatically led him to play her protector. Not that she needed it given she was one tough cookie as a child, or at least she put up such front.
Schooling was never an issue for Jennifer. She had mostly As and Bs and every now and then, the occasional C. Whenever that would happen, her parents would punish her accordingly, whether that be doing extra chores around the house or prohibiting her from going out with friends. Not to say that she was sheltered; but the discipline instilled in her served her well in college and later on when she went on to pursue her career.
Jennifer got the chance to transfer to the role of detective a few years ago. She's kept her waterbending a secret from every soul on the face of the Earth except for her maternal grandmother who recently passed away. That means that if anyone in the police department were to find out about her bending, including her father who's currently a deputy chief—or her brother who's a lieutenant, getting kicked out of the department would be the least of her worries.
Physical Description: Dark brown eyes and blonde hair with porcelain skin. Sienna is a 5'2 "natural beauty", or so that's what some family friends and members of the family classify her as. Her skin is nearly flawless and she never really cared for tattoos nor piercings, which is simply a preference of hers.
Element: Fire
Occupation: Student
Personality: As shy and timid one can imagine a girl raised by overprotective parents can be. Sienna is a bright girl, but she doesn’t externalize it. She’s often apologetic, even when she has no reason to be, just to avoid an escalation in the situation. She's super friendly and loyal to the core, leading her to at times be somewhat naive.
Background: Born into an extremely wealthy family, Sienna had all the privilege the typical rich kid has. The only child of Marcus and Elizabeth, Sienna was always within sight of a responsible adult, mostly someone paid to look after her. Sienna was born in New York City but the family has moved around quite a bit since, eventually settling in Chicago right after the young girl turned seven.
Growing up, Sienna was signed up for various activities such as ballet and some sports in an attempt to get her to be more active. She eventually settled on tennis after going through a list of prior sports, and she loved it enough to play for years both in and out of school and even winning a few local and state competitions. Currently, Sienna is in her freshman year of school. She decided to stay local (for the first year at least) due to her parents constantly trying to convince her to just attend the University of Chicago. Marcus wants his only daughter close, and Elizabeth, her and Sienna share a secret: they are both firebenders and no one else knows.
Physical Description: Caucasian of Italian descent. Stands at 6'0'' and weighs around 189 lbs. Athletic build. Arms covered in tattoos of various origins, most of them gang-affiliated. Tattoos on his back and chest as well. Dark brown hair, short and often slicked back. Dark brown eyes. Scars on his upper torso, left shoulder, right cheek, and right forearm.
Element: Air
Occupation: Captain of the Castigione Crime Family
Personality: Brash, vulgar, hot-headed, sarcastic, cynical, self-righteous, absolutely cold towards his enemies, not afraid to get his hands dirty...or bloody, rarely shows his softer side, values honor and loyalty above all
Background: *TAPE 276-B - CASTIGIONE, NERO*
TRANSCRIPT:
*lights up a cigarette and takes a drag*
"Look, I'm a busy guy, so let's get this over with. I was born here in Chicago, the youngest of three boys. My oldest brother Antonio is currently serving life in prison for murder and my other brother Francis, God rest his soul, died from drugs in 2011. That just left me. My mom passed away from cancer in 2015, not that I remember much of her because she and Pops split back in '01 when Pops got caught bangin' the maid. Either way, she's dead. What you gonna do, huh?
So...as for my Pops, well you oughta fuckin' know by now who he is, Nero Castigionie Senior, head of the Castigionie Family, or "the Boss" as he likes to be called. He's an arrogant, fat, womanizing piece of shit and he's also the second most powerful man in Chicago next to, I don't know, the fuckin' governor of Illinois. Anywho, with Tony locked up for life and Frankie six feet in the ground, he figured it was up to me to be his successor. At first, it didn't sit right with me. I tried to get out of the life and live normally, but bein' the son of a mob boss, that's pretty tough.
*pauses and takes another drag*
I left Chicago back in 2014 and joined the Army just to get away for a while. You thought life on the streets was tough? Shit! Afghanistan made it look like a walk in the park! I saw some nasty shit over there, but I was used to it, you know. I didn't come home fucked up like the rest of those guys, but I still had dreams about it. Ain't the first time I saw a guy's head get blown off his shoulders or a fuckin' kid with a grenade blow himself up. Blood is blood, if you ask me.
Anyway, I took some shrapnel after our lead humvee blew up during a routine patrol in Kabul, an IED they called it. I lived, but the rest of my guys were dead...there were pieces of them everywhere I looked. They patched me up and sent me home, gave me a Purple Heart. I was discharged and came back to Chicago after serving four years. By that time, our family had beef with the whole goddamn city. The Russians and the Irish were muscling in on our turf. Then you had these other mamalukes, the Valentino Family, tryin' to get in on the action. Pops needed help, so reluctantly, I stepped in. I never cared much for the guy, but he was still my father. You have to respect your family, you know.
*Takes another drag, then crushes his cigarette in the ashtray*
So me and the boys drove out the Valentinos after we whacked their boss and a few of their made guys. Pops was impressed, to say the least, and made me a captain right off the bat. There I was again, back in the life...for good this time. I can't complain. Bein' made has its perks, but you still gotta watch your back every fuckin' day. If it ain't the Russians or the fuckin' Irish I'm dealin' with, then it's the CCB breathin' down my neck.
Oh yeah, that reminds me. The bendin' thing. I don't know what you call it: a power, a gift? I call it a fuckin' curse. I didn't know I had this ability 'til I was in the sixth grade. There was this big fat kid, Charlie I think his name was. Real fuckin' ugly kid, lotsa freckles on his face, had red hair so you knew he was a piece of shit. Anywho, this kid would always fuck with me every day after school, so's finally I had enough. Now I wasn't big by any means, not like I am now. I was probably around ninety to a hundred pounds back in those days, real string bean. So one day, fatso throws a mean hook and busts my fuckin' head open. He's on top of me punchin' me while his two fuck buddies are behind him eggin' him on. I don't know what happened then, but somehow, I threw this fat fucker all the way across the street and into a fence. His friends took off runnin' and I just sat there blown out of my mind.
Oh the kid, Charlie? Yeah, he lived, but he didn't fuck with me anymore after that. Neither did his two shit-heels.
Anyway, what I do remember is it felt like the wind just picked up all of a sudden, like a huge gust of air just lifted this kid right off me, and it felt like it came from my hand. I was weirded out by it, to be honest. I thought I was some kind of freak. I ran home and told my Pops. At first, he didn't believe me, but when I showed him, he laughed, 'Look at that, fellas! My boy's a fuckin' superhero!'
It was cool, you know, to think of it that way. Well...unfortunately the CCB didn't think so. I remember when those guys came into Chicago, Pops was freakin' out. He told me under no circumstances to use this...power of mine, so I kept it hidden. There were some times I did use it, mainly to fuck some guy up real good or make his buddies shit their pants, but I made sure the boys kept their mouths shut about it, lest they wanna give the old man a heart attack or end up floatin' in trashbags down by the docks.
I've managed to lay low for a while now, just doin' business for the family here and there, but the heat's ampin' up every day. Sooner or later, I know these bastards are gonna get me. When they do, they're gonna have hell to pay, cause I don't go down without a fight.
I sometimes wonder if there are others like me out there that have these bendin' powers, if they're scared the CCB's gonna nab them too. Maybe we oughta band together and show these assholes who they're fuckin' with, but then again, they probably got some kind of technology shit that can neutralize your powers. Always gotta have kryptonite when Superman comes knockin' at your door, right?
Well anywho, I've said enough. Can I go now, or are you gonna bother me with more questions? Hurry it up, cause I don't like waitin' around. I got places to be and shit to do."
*TAPE END*

Physical Description: Luca is of American-Korean descent. He stands at a height of 5'10" with a sturdy build. Uniquely enough he has completely black eyes which tends to disturb those with "weaker" stomachs. Above-average in most aspects, Luca takes pride in his appearance normally. He styles his dark hair in such a way to be reminiscent of K-Pop stars, knowingly capitalizing on their popularity in the states and his close-enough good looks. Its given him a bit of renown in his circle of associates.
Element: Airbending
Occupation: College Student
Personality: Quietly involved and pleasant to be around on the surface, Luca has been noted to be charismatic by his peers. His opinions tend to stay his own and despite this, his emotions can be read plainly on his face. Of which he'd be the first to admit he experiences strongly (Observant people would notice the contradictions). The second eldest of his four siblings, Luca holds a strong sense of guardianship while simultaneously holding frustrations at the same habit. In all reality; Luca puts on the facade of a responsible young adult while harboring lackadaisical tendencies and selfish wishes.
Background: Luca was raised to exist in the background. The Flowers family are an off-shoot of a powerful Bending clan in Korea. Blessed to have maintained a steady line of Benders; the latest of which has been all males on the Flowers branch; they've regarded themselves in a traditionalist style of living. The two eldest siblings awoke rather early to their Bending and was sent off to South Korea at the age of six and four for a few years to learn under their Uncle.
When they returned to the states, his eldest brother Liam, at the time being twelve and Luca ten; were greeted with twins sisters: Lily and Luna (both six years old). Lily and Luna lived freely without what Luca would call the Family Curse. Liam seemed determined to outshine his imposed mediocrity (turning him into the black sheep) while Luca simply felt burdened. When he was able to leave home for college, Luca finally felt a sense of independence and had finally begun to discover himself.
Lately Luca's begun to get calls from his parents about his sisters Lily and Luna; who has found out from Liam that they've been living in a lie all their lives. His father and mother has stressed the importance of the Family Secret (Curse) but always the keen observer his mother believes they'll do something disastrous.
~ ... ~
On the other end of the phone Luca imagined his mother's mind working; seeing his sisters' expressions clearly. "Lily seems too angry you know? rightful so," A small pause. "But its Luna I'm really worried about, Luke. She seems afraid of you and Liam now, of all of us. I can't get them to tell me what they're thinking and you know..." she dropped to a whisper." You know if they discover even an idea, they'll trace it back to Korea. Do me a favor; call them. Luna has always loved you most of all. Convince her everything is okay."
Luca felt the weight returning, it was discouraging but he wanted to deal with it before it crushed him. "Sure, Ma. I'll talk to them. I'll handle it, maybe I'll have a chat with, Liam too."
