The Game Master
[ ?? ] | [ ~5'0" ─ 7'0" ] | [ they/them ]
Little is known about the one called "Game Master", even their height being a mystery as everyone who has encountered the individual remembers their encounter just a little...differently... Some recall a tall, broad figure looming in the darkness, slowly stalking its prey, while others speak of a miniature gremlin of a being, darting through the shadows at inhuman speeds. The only constant among stories lies in the
voice. That chilling, overlay of various voice types all mining together in an unsettling dissonance of harmony, as though an entire choir were speaking as one. No one can quite place the voice as male or female, many arguing that it could be either, while others simply choose to believe that it is both or none. One detail can be taken from their modified voice, however, and that is their sinisterly playful nature. With their constant quips and teasing comments coming over the speakers scattered through the dungeon, there's really no doubt that the Game Master enjoys what they do. Prone to speaking in rhymes and riddles, the Game Master is known well for never speaking directly on things, always making every moment into a new game. They enjoy talking to their contestants, often taking the time to question the people they hold in their dungeon and offer them insight into various issues they may be facing, both in-game and out. There was once an entire episode of an early run, where all the Game Master did was have a civil conversation with their player, helping the individual come to terms with a recent break-up, which led to the player gaining confidence for the rest of the game, and though the player still met their demise, they left the world, seemingly, happier than when the game had first begun. In times like these, where the Game Master chooses to speak rather than toy, many have tried asking the host questions about themself. The only things that the individual ever answered were "What is your favorite color?" and "Do you have anyone you care about?" to which the Game Master replied, respectively, "A deep, royal blue like sapphires, same as my die," and "Once, but they are no longer..."
