Economy: California economy is dominated with High Tech industries which makes a bulk of their money. Others include the media industry (Music, Film, and Videogames), farming etc.
Foreign Policy: California is non-interventionist and mostly keeps to themselves
History:
On 2014, California left the Union to form its own state. Many Californians were fed up with the government and declared the Second Californian Republic. The United States government wasn’t going to watch one of their most important states and War became erupted.
During the Californian War of Secession several other states followed the example of California. Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona and New Mexico. The West was seceding under the United States with its citizens and National Guard fighting them. It eventually came to be known as the War of West Coast Secession.
The War ended on 2018. The United California States of America was created with Nevada joining them.
The UCA consolidated itself after the war opening up the country and following a policy of free trade to repair its country and reduce its debt. The illegal immigrant was simply solved by legalizing them as California citizens though during that time, the current UCA Congress passed a federal law banning all forms of immigration into the country.
On 2025, the Mexican-Californian War broke out as the Mexican Empire declared war on California. Backgrounds include Mexico ambitions to acquire its lost territories from the Mexican-American War. The 9th Army invaded Baja California and placed it Californian control and cutting it off from Mexican control. The 4th Army held back Mexican forces at the Battle of Phoenix. The UCA air force launched devastating bombing runs to demoralize the population of the country and invaded Mexican Border States.
Fighting continued until 2031 until Mexico surrendered and collapsed. California took over the states of Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colma, Marias Island and Revigalledo Island giving the country effective control over the Gulf of California.
Most of California was unscathed by the war. It bolstered national unity and consolidated the Californian identity as mighty power not is treaded upon. California largely remained out of the other wars of WW3 making great scientific advancement and even establishing a space agency looking to establish space mining operations and colonizing the Solar System.
On 2035, California annexed the lawless lands Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado effectively recreating Alta California back when it was under Mexican control hundreds of years ago.
Beyond 2038 everybody knows of California power in technology, media (Music, Film industry etc.), military power and economic power. The world knows California as a non-interventionist nation that keeps to itself.
