User smithcasts spamming those magic spell threads. This is apparently a consistent thing now, though I don't know if it's possible to IP block wherever they're coming from or something of that nature to prevent new bots.

I don't know if I'll be seen in any particular light for saying this, but I may have a suggestion to significantly cut down on spam traffic. A particular website I've used in the past for memes and such has an admin that's fairly open about some of the stuff they do system-side, and they revealed at one point that, based on their detection methods, they believed 90+% of bot, spam, and fake-ad traffic was coming from India and China (possibly a few others, I don't remember). I'm not sure how they did it, but they implemented some method of automatically banning, or just not allowing, any and all accounts/IP addresses from those countries and now the problem is quite literally non-existent on that site.

I don't know if RPG has any members from those countries who would be affected, but it seems to me it'd be a pretty clear cut way to give you guys some relief from the constant battle. These seem to be popping up a lot more often than they used to.

I'm working on detection mechanisms, but unfortunately I don't directly have access to IP addresses with the current toolset. I have other things I can try in the meantime though.
