Question:

Where do y'all get your books from? I'm considering buying more from my usual place (where I work lol) since I already get a 10% discount on most things. However, since the series I was looking at only exists in part on their online shop, I was seeing if any other place would be worthwhile to look at. I know places like Barnes and Noble/Amazon have reward type programs that I was considering for later-down-the-line books/series since I like to read, but I'm not 100% certain if its worth it/if anything else is worth it to not just stick with my usual for the majority of my purchases.

@Kuro Just to point out, I don't normally read e-books/online books. Good old paper books all the way for me. Nothing like having the feel of that hefty paper book in your hand and stopping to sniff those fresh new pages now and then. Um, to answer your question, I don't have one go-to place to purchase books, and I don't do much online shopping, but just kind of wander into any bookstore I might pass by while at the mall, or while making my way down any street that has one. Take a snoop around, see if anything jumps out at me in the moment. Money really isn't an issue for me when buying books either, so specials aren't relevant. I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for a good read. I realize now that this is no help to you at all :). Maybe do a google search in your area and shake it up a little, try somewhere new.

Yard sales are a great place to get books if you're not looking for anything too specific or care to get them second hand. The prices are more or less unbeatable.

If you have access to a thrift shop that might be worth looking into as well, though the increased foot traffic in those places means that they have usually been picked through.

@Carlyle, I usually buy books where ever I see books being sold with a book that I find interesting. However, if you’re looking for thrifty instant gratification on a specific title, I suggest used books from Amazon. Alternatively, you can go to your local library and request a title for absolutely free.
