I'm very interested in getting into a rp. I want to start small but sadly I've come down with a pretty nasty fever so it might be a couple days until i can join one. But its a good time since im new to forums in general just to ask for some help on how to join or start a rp. My wife and brother are also showing interest in joining but they want to know how everything works. They have ran some ironsworn campaigns with me but we are wanting something either light or detailed. Sorry if this post was long just didn't want to leave anything out before i passed out again.

If you want to make a roleplay, you'll first want to make an interest check in on the check categories. Think of it like a brief, setting guidelines, outlining the planned concept, etc. for the roleplay in question. Then you wait to see who shows interest in joining until you've a sizable group to your liking and move on to posting a roleplay thread wherein the interested parties can create characters for you to look over and approve. Once everyone is settled, you can start roleplaying/writing posts.

If you plan on joining, then look for an active interest check or potentially the OOC of an on-going thread. On-going threads have labels (full, jump-in, apply) that tell you if they are or how they're accepting players. If spots are open, take the character sheet they've made for you and write up your character for their/GM approval (preferably in the OOC tab, people tend to keep only accepted sheets in the CS tab). If the GM(s) accept you, then you can hop right in to writing a post.

Also, since you mentioned that you enjoy TTRPGs/tabletop campaigns, we do have this handy little thing:

roleplayerguild.com/campaigns

It's located on the main page of the forum. The dice roller is rather basic, though, so don't expect it to count Degrees of Successes or any other fancy dice rules that some tabletop systems have.
