Power(s): No magic so to speak, but he's a gifted swordsman, possessing a style that utilizes every part of the sword, even while sheathed, as a short staff. Unfortunately, his only weapon with which to fight is a rusty o-katana. It's a style designed to batter the enemy, then deliver a coup de grace with one strike from the blade.
Weakness: Poverty Kiryu has literally no money. His sword is grimy and his clothes are tattered rags. Besides this, he has no social rank, leaving him at a severe disadvantage in social disputes.

Background: In his youth, Kiryu was an infamous samurai by another name, famed for his sword skills. He fought in several wars, and fought... and fought. One day, however, his lord was killed during a particularly ferocious battle, leaving him and many others masterless. Those that didn't perform hara-kiri took to the roads, in search of work elsewhere.
He has traveled the road for eight years, with naught but the clothes and sword he fell from fame with. In this time, he has grown complacent as a vagabond, his only drive to see what's further down the road.
Fun Fact: Though his kimono may have once born a clan's crest, a patch is missing, exposing his back.

Name: Umiko Gyorui

Age: 7

Class: Youkai

Power(s): Umiko's powers consist of the normal spiritual kind that normal spirits would possess. They are primarily weak in nature, none of her magic actually able to do any direct harm to anything. Most notably, she can control water in its liquid form, and can use water to heal others.

Weakness: Though she is a spirit, she is not at all a powerful spirit. In fact, she is the spirit of a dead fish. She must carry the physical body she represents in the form of fish bones. Umiko also constantly smells like a dead fish.

Background: Umiko is a cherry trout, specifically, she is among the masu salmon native to Japan. Salmon, which die not long after mating, Umiko was left without parents. Like all salmon, she raised herself in the fresh water lakes and rivers of Japan, swimming along the banks. She lived a mostly sedentary lifestyle with a diet consisting mainly of fly larva. Umiko stayed in fresh water for a little less than three years, eventually swimming into the ocean. She made herself welcome into a modest sized school of other salmon. They swam around the pacific ocean for another four years, before finally returning to the spawning ground to reproduce. However, before they could reach the rivers, wild birds picked them out. Among those unfortunate was Umiko, who was caught eventually by a gull. Struggling for a good hour, Umiko eventualy slipped free from the gull's grasp, to her ire, falling onto the hot dry sands of a beach so close yet so far away from water.

Appearance: Fair skin, gaunt face with a long nose and small blue eyes. He has a small crop of golden hair on his head. He wears a coat on top of his stained shirt and vest. His lower body is covered by baggy trousers and a pair of boots that reach up to his knees. He usually has a relaxed and somewhat lazy posture with a slight slouch to it.

Age: 25

Class: Barbarian Mercenary

Powers: He has no superhuman powers to speak of. He does however possess a wide array of combat related skills, including but not limited to sword fencing, spear-drills and archery. He as an unnatural obsession for fire.

Weakness: High temperature, cold temperature, stabbing, slashing, piercing and blunt physical trauma, i.e. pretty much anything a which is fatal to normal humans. His somewhat weak eyesight makes it difficult for him to distinguish faraway objects and follow fast moving objects. His somewhat ragged clothes, unnerving gaze and obvious foreign origins makes it difficult for him to earn someone's trust.

Background: Vosswald was born in a faraway barbarian land where he grew up as the third son of a minor noble. Like all young noblemen he was taught his people's way of fighting from a young age. He was given the nickname "firebug" due to his unhealthy fascination with fire which he has demonstrated time and again since his 7th year of birth. He lived a relatively uneventful life until the age of 20 when he accidentially burned down the family stables when trying to get rid of "those damned rats". The loss of his priceless horses infuriated his father who promptly sent Vosswald as far away as possible to serve in the fleets. One day the ship he was serving on sailed into a storm on an expedition into uncharted seas in search for new trade routes. As the only survivor with no way back he began travelling this strange and foreign land in search of adventure where his skills as a swordsman have proven useful on many occasions.

Fun Fact: He has a minor case of lazy eye going on, it's especially noticeable when he's thinking hard. He also has an unreasonably strong fear of rats. His biggest handicap however is his inability to speak the local language which forces him to rely mostly on gestures and hand signs to try to convey his messages. His lack of personal hygiene causes a certain aversion from the locals.

I'm accepted? Great! I was a little concered at first that my character wouldn't fit the theme of the game. I'm a little reliefed.
Also, I noticed that I appear to be the only one who didn't use a picture for my character's appearance.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to drop outta this...Wish y'all the best of luck with the Bushidos and the Sudokus and what not.

I have one question. Is this RP set in real life Japan or some Japanese-themed fantasy world? If it's the former; What year is it?
I would personally prefer the latter but it's your game. I'm just were to roleplay.

given Shinju's past I don't think she would be willing to work with demons, and would likely aggressively seek jobs that allowed her to kill them. So yeah put her on team 'brother who isn't using demons'
