This game is looking for two more players. If you're interested, please apply over at the OOC.
I generally like to build campaigns around the character's so I won't get too backstory-y.
The basics are that I'm looking for four to six people for a 4th edition Shadowrun campaign. CS's would be in Mythweavers. Standard 400 point buy.
A little taste of the setting

Moetesville was built on the remains of a fifth age military town that was swollowed by the sudden appearance of a massive swamp during the emergence. An ever present fog has erased all but the memory of the sun, and swamp gas makes it stink...
Nobody chooses to live in Moetsville... And no one would, even without the swamp. The gated upper class neighborhoods are policed to the point of tyranny by the armed divison of the fasciest AA Corp, Zodiac. Just outside the walls of those communites, the rundown slums are controlled by the ruthless Vory crimelords. Don't waste your time trying to find anything in between either, it doesn't exist.
As horrible as the town is for it's citizens (trapped there by poverty, drug addiction, Corp contracts, or likely all three), it is even worse for Shadowrunners. See, there are no shadows in Moetsville. Here the lines are clearly drawn... There's the black allyways, where the Vory run their criminal enterprises, and there's the blinding spotlight of Zodiac's psudo-utopian nanny state... and neither one is particularly fond of the meddleing of Shadowrunners... No, no Shadowrunner in their right mind would be in Moetsville...
Which is exactly why you're here now. You messed up, you trusted the wrong 'friend', ran a job against someone you really ought to not have, or saw something you shouldn't have. Now you have no choice but to hide in the one place that the people after you would never think you were crazy enough to go. After all, if you keep a low profile nothing could possibly go wrong... right?

I am very interested. Any idea where in the world Moetsville is located approximately, just so I know where my character might originate form and what might be involved in getting to Moetsville? Also, how likely is it that the characters know each other at start of game? Hope this floats...

Awesome to see some more interest!
To answer your questions, The location is flexible and if you'd like somewhere specific to aid your backstory, then I'd be happy to oblige. However, for my purposes I'd say it is somewhere in the vicinity of St. Lewis (North or East, most likely.)
Characters familiarity with each other is completely at the disgression of the players. I have set up the story so that even if they have no familiarity they will still end up meeting each other, so there is no pressure to create that situation on your own if you don't want to.

I'm interested if this is still going ahead. I'll try and throw together a character over the weekend.

I have no idea how Mythweavers works, but I'll check it out. If this takes off, are we gonna be doing play-by-post or playing via something like roll20?

While Roll20 is awesome, I'm already running a homebrew system on it and don't really have time for a second live play game. We'd most likely end up doing a play by post style, since it gives a little more wiggle room as far as time goes.

Sure thing.

Mythweavers seems pretty simple. I'm almost done filling in the fields for a rigger/hacker.

Err, thought I'd say it here, since I've already been discussing it in PMs. I'm in. POSSIBLY as a sapient fox. Covering with backstory (obviously involving corporate experimentation on local...ish wildlife). Also, will be a pet to someone, in the sense that she'll need a liaison for a lot of stuff. (Calculated BP cost for playing a fox with default attributes ad powers as defined in Running Wild is 130 BP. More expensive than a fox shapeshifter, but I have fewer options to spend it on, so don't need as much.) Will be a mage of some sort. Type may depend on what role everyone else takes.

I'm sure that "could" (quotes for understatement) get complaints. If anyone is COMPLETELY opposed, please say so. I plan on taking this role seriously, so I hope you don't object because it's an absurd idea. (If that't the case, I can make an AI with a fox biodrone, but then we lose out on a mage and have a second rigger. A fox shapeshifter would also be an option, of course, if it's too much of a problem). I do plan on taking the physical limitations of a non-humanoid creature into consideration during the entire creation process.

Edit: Also, is there room for one more? I found someone who wants to try the game out. I suspect he'll take it more serious than I seem to be (but not as serious as I actually take it).

You're saying you want a pet fox, huh? ^~^

And being a rigger/hacker would be beneficial to mine, in terms of communication. Could have built a special commlink for your little fox friend (and would also explain where she keeps her money. <.<)

-debates supplying Kostvel with Arsenal, for maximized effectiveness, but triple the time creating the chara-- the guns-

(I keep giving him more stuffs.)

So...umm...
Munk: If you DO want an animal companion, you get to name my character. ^~^ (As a sapient fox, though, she can object. Of course, you can still call her any name you want. Not like she can complain much to other people).

(Of course, anyone else is free to claim an animal companion, since Munk never agreed in the first place.)

I'm not sure I'd be comfortable having another player as a "pet", so if anyone else is up for it, go ahead. I do like the idea of having a mage who's an animal, though. Lot of fun gameplay potential right there, although I'm a bit worried about stuff like simple communication.

In other news, I think I'm done with my rigger. I'm gonna go it over and see if the BP count checks out. Maybe add a rigger van if I can get the cash for it.

edit: ToskaO, when filling out the CS, do you want me to write down my character's base attributes or her modified attributes (you know, with cyberware factored in etc.)?
