Actually that brings a question to mind. Would a cannibalistic race be fairly strong in magic since the Sand is reworked directly into the next generation?

That would require that the race's population doesn't expand.

But, that doesn't apply to the goblins, since the goblin dragons are the ones who eat the common goblins, compacting all the race's magic into the dragons.

Goblins can't use magic, and if they can they're really had at it.

If I understood right...

Also, can't believe I'm not finished Sam's CS... Oh well.

Also, I'm gonna create a race of shape changers, but I'm not gonna make a character for them, just want them in the world OuO

I meant like a cannibalistic race in general not necessarily goblins. I suppose if it had a high population then it would turn out the same.

Actually, it should turn out worse for the next generation, at least until they can eat their parents:

as I understand it, if a creature dies, the natural thing that happens is for the magic to "reenter the system". The magic becomes reincarnated in the next generation.

Now, if a race were cannibalistic and ate its dead, then there would be no magic to naturally reenter the system and become reincarnated in the next generation. They have to wait for their parents to die so that they can eat their parents so that they can inherit their magic.

Goblins still have some magic in them because they're not particularly efficient at stealing the magic of the things that they eat. So even if a goblin dragon eats a dead goblin, like 85% of that goblin's magic still gets recycled. This results in the next generation only having a little bit less magic, and is why the race has been able to survive with this system: they had time to evolve and adapt to their lower innate magic through generations instead of just getting born with no magic out of the blue (and also, no goblins are born with no magic, due to limits [of the calculus type]). This is also why goblins haven't taken over all the magic in the world: even if they eat a sorcerer, the goblin only gets like 15% of the sorcerer's magic. When that goblin dies, only 15% of that 15% ends up in the goblin dragon, with the other 85% of that 15% reincarnating back in its original race.

Fair enough, I actually hadn't read about your goblins yet. Now having done that, do you think it would be okay if my character had prior knowledge of your Dragon Goblins(a least a little)? Being a beast slayer it would make sense to at least know they exist if not particulars.

I like how 'fuck you I'm a god' Tinty was. That's actually how I always RP'd him.

If he doesn't care about mortals why does he patrol the seas, keeping all life safe? I'd imagine he'd just go on to Neyav?

Ahhhhh... well, not really. I mean, I imagined that there was some history between Slayers and common goblins (I was planning on having Dssialii be a bit racist in this regard) since goblins were once an "evil" race and still aren't really a "good" one, but the Slayers should know no more about the goblin dragons than the stories and songs that have been passed down just like in other factions. They can suspect that the goblins have an ace up their sleeve (since the Slayers would have failed in whatever war they decided to wage on common goblins), but that's as far as it makes sense since goblins are very good at cleaning up a battle.

Hello peeps, I apologize if this information is in the OP, but after an admittedly very quick skim read of the post, I feel the need to ask the following question:

Can I create an entirely new race, and if so, how would I know where to put them? I have a small civilization in mind. Not big on the numbers at all, so that I could fit them in the tiniest nooks and crannies in the land :p

Yes, and just put them wherever you please (as long as it makes some sense... don't put your farmers on top of mountains, etc)

Nah, just kidding................

Though that may be cool to see. Amphibious race that lives in lava! There you go guys, food for inspiration in future fantasy RPs. I'll get to work on the race and the Sheet right now!

P.s: But first, I shall read the OP carefully this time :p

You mean like...Fire Salamanders? Pretty sure they're a thing. Think they were even in one of the later Narnia books.

Not even a little bit? The Slayers have been round a while, I'm not saying Arnack is a walking beast encyclopedia, buy maybe there's a dusty tome hidden away back in Fort Salair. Meh, it'll hopefully never become relevant, they seem pretty scary.

Hup dup

For those who care, the freaky-looking ones on the left side with the very forward-facing eyes are a central clan commonly referred to as "bugbears" for their bug-eyed expression.

Didn't think someone one would pick up on this.
It's intentionally paradoxical, but you weren't suppose to learn of Tinty's personality until later.

It'll make sense about halfway through the story. Assuming we get that far.

Welcome to Enduwin Frettzo

@All
Forgot to mention that I like to include meta game achievements as I GM. Only struck me when I realized NewSun and kiddo had accomplished two!
I'll add the section to the OP. I have the full list here but I don't think I'll upload it. That way it won't affect your play and it'll be a nice surprise when you get one.

Currently have 12 in total. I'll aim for 20 and if I still have ideas after than I'll go for 30.
