-Yes, and for the purposes of this roleplay, the humans we face will almost all be from the same human empire faction
-They wish for all humans to be destroyed and to reign over the other animals who they don't think can do a good job at running the earth. They mostly only fight the good guy animals when they get in the way of their objective of world domination.

The good guy animal alliance will attack the human armies to help save the other animals being attacked. They don't wish all humans to be destroyed; they just want to end the war and allow the animals to live in peace. Until that moment they have to fight.

Alright, I'm late to the party, but I'm psyched for this. It reminds me of a book series I read, back in junior high. Except this story has humans and mutations involved.

What about marine creatures: Dolphins are good?
Sharks are evil?
Orca's depend on the individual whether they are good or bad?
Also would there be seals, otters, eels, crabs, whales and octopus?

I'm thinking about playing a Raven and an Otter if they would be in this story.

Yes, but the good animal alliance will be a democracy where each animal has two senators (as a whole their powers are like a king) and a certain amount of other representatives based on their population size and importance. Therefore, ants would have a lot of representatives, but not as much as the actual ratio because they are not as important. Some animals would have kinds or queens for matters relating strictly to that species.

Due to taking place on land, strictly marine creatures will not be involved much besides mentioned in the background. The mentioned species are as you say. Eels are bad. The others are good.

Polar bears would be more out of place. Otters can survive on land, right? If we're in the amazon rainforest he could probably go back into the river every now and then anyways.

Mostly scouts or eliminating enemy bugs or birds (should we be fighting the bad guy animal army). Hawks and eagles can be in heavier combat. A raven might be able to do either job

Humans are larger then a lot of animals and are far more numerous then the animals that are of decent size. The bigger animals such as the elephant are all well and good other then the fact that they are not the type that can develop hands, needing to walk on four legs, so they had to fight against a bunch of archers, javelins, and the like and all they could do is try to charge into them. Plus a lot of those species are getting endangered in numbers even before the war started and humans are now encouraged to slaughter any they find, making their population dwindle even worse. Smaller animals like the insects outnumber humans greatly, but each human is like a one man army against them. The grasshopper commander is super talented, but she's a rarity. Most of them get killed on their first mission, crushed under some boot or swatted away before they can get close enough with their tiny weaponry. A couple eagles get sent in and they'll be slaughtered by arrows.

I'll gm but you guys can also actively participate in deciding where the plot will be headed.

If you have the cat then you can be the rival to the dog character if you want. In that case I'd probably be another animal. There's nothing wrong with 2 cats, however, so if you don't want to be the rival then we can both be cats no problem.

A word of advice, ants would be the perfect anti-armor soldiers, slipping into openings in the armor to take then down from the inside. You will be a great ally for our...wait...crush all the other species?! An ant rebellion?!?! We should have never trusted you!
