Biography: Myles was born is Ashenport, raised in Ashenport, and if he has his way, he’ll die in Ashenport. He loves his small little town that he runs, but more then that he loves the power and privilege that goes with being a mayor. Of course, he wasn’t *always* the mayor of Ashenport. He had to work hard to get his position...and in some cases, drive away his competition by means other than skillful campaigning….
Myles grew up the son of a rather wealthy family who moved to Ashenport for their retirement. His father died first, taken by a heart attack when he was 12. His mother died a year later, doctors said it was pneumonia...but Myles knew better. It was a broken heart. She lost the will to go on without the man she loved in his life. He ended up moving in with his uncle--a man that Myles despised on every level.
Myles, even from the young age of 13, knew he wanted to be involved in politics. He was always watching the news or reading a newspaper, something his parents were proud of--but his uncle would make fun of him over. That was okay though, because Myles knew things about his Uncle. Nathan Reeve, a closed pedofile who was storing child pornography on his computer. Myles found out shortly after his mother died, when he was visiting the man. Was using his computer to visit Fox News and CNN; he found a lil password protected secret folder on his Uncles computer. Of course the idiot would use his brothers birthday. When Myles discovered his Uncles secret stash, he did nothing...at least, not for awhile. He made note of this, to use later. Even at that young age, he was already calculating...smart. Good instincts, and no fear to use knowledge against those he hated. Like his uncle.
So it was, when he was 18 years old, and already getting involved in community service, that he decided it was time to act. His Uncle was ragging on him (as usual), telling him he should be a ‘real man’ and let go of his political aspirations. Instead of spending his time behind a desk reading books, or part of the High School debate team, or studying politics, his uncle believed he should be working on cars, hitting on women, and getting drunk. And one night, just after his High School graduation, dear uncle finally pushed Myles over the edge. He made an anonymous phone call to the Sheriff, informing him of the content of Nathan’s computer. That was enough to get the ball rolling.
It would be Ashenports biggest scandal, at least until the Caretaker’s first wife was killed. And as his uncle was lead away in handcuffs, Myles leaned in, a sinister smile plastered to his lips.
“That’s what happens when you fuck with me, Uncle...should’ve left me alone. They have a word for people like you, in prison...bitch. That’s what you’re gonna be.”; those were his last words to his father’s brother, Nathan Reeve.
Throughout his adolescence and adulthood, Myles was atentive. He watched people, learned their secrets. Politically, he’d use his knowledge to help get those he supported elected--and crush the opposition. Likewise, when it finally came time for his turn to run for mayor, his bright smile, kind eyes, and warm Christian personality would shine through, like a beacon. But behind those eyes, behind the facade that he put forth, Myles was truly a force not to be reckoned with. Not afraid to use bribery or blackmail to meet his own self interests, at least behind the scenes, it is no small wonder he has been mayor for the past 12 years (3 consecutive terms).
The position of mayor is starting to grow tiresome for Myles, however. he’s starting to look to higher offices, perhaps as a governor for a larger city, or maybe even a senator one day--and possibly, in the distant future...the presidency. Of course, then he’d have to temporarily leave his lovely town of Ashenport, but then...it wouldn’t be permanent, now would it?
Relationships: Close friends with the town Sheriff, they’ve known eachother for years. Myle’s has always supported the town Sheriff, and they can usually be seen spending time at the local diner together. The Sheriff is one of the few people that Myles genuinely respects; still, if the Sheriff were to ever become a political rival, threatening his bid for the position of mayor? Well, Myles would do whatever it took to ensure that didn’t happen…
There are no other known *direct* relations to anyone in the town; that said, he has a great deal of information on most of the town citizens. He knows, for instance, much of Vlad Simkov’s shady past--and has filed away THAT information for future use. The man has deep pockets, after all, and could help immensely with “campaign contributions.” Particularly if he took a shot as governor of the state…
The Mayor only shows kindness publically, however. A wonderful speaker, much of the town likely considers him a friend, someone they trust. His own dirty laundry he’s managed to hide rather well, securing it from the public eye. He interacts with people, shaking hands and talking as though he’s a long lost friend to anyone he might happen to meet on the streets.
Nightmare: If there is one thing that Myles fears, it’s snakes--and losing his political power, that people will see right through him one day. His nightmare is a large Naga; a serpentine body with a human female’s torso. The snake half bears crimson scales, the torso is young, slender, and deceptively beautiful; wearing a bikini top. Her face, however, is hidden by an old victorian opera mask. Locks of golden curls spills over the Naga’s shoulders, and she wields a wicked scythe, dripping with blood. Her full lips, when in a sinister grin, reveal her razor-sharp, blood-stained teeth and forked tongue.
