Love the concept, but I'm not too sure how it would play out.

I'm working on formatting Cybell's deck right now.

I'm not either, but I'm waiting for the GMs to get back for that reason. They are some pretty powerful effects to be sure, but Archfiends, especially the "Chess Fiends", don't really have much support in the first place.

A head's up, I'm considering changing up Lars' backstory, and I most likely will once I've written it up.

It's not the effects that bother me so much as actually having to keep track of something that's normally more or less irrelevant.

Ah, well just treat it as if it were a new archetype whose tricks and trades you have to get used to then.

Nope, still annoying. Because literally every other card in the game is just played in a fill-in-the-blanks manner, and that lets you freely rearrange things and actually makes this matter.

So other than having to put in extra work in keeping track of monster locations (and I get where you're coming from), what is your other concern?

That with the way you've set it up it's just a generic pay lifepoints for effect thing. The other player can't influence their card locations, whilst you're free to rearrange yours.

Yes, because the cards are meant to be support for monsters that are otherwise relatively weak and easily disposed of. Besides, it's not like it'd be incredibly difficult to get Pnademonium or Der Holleschach off the field.

Well then I guess that means I should probably make back up for the back up, or maybe include some anti-destruction effects in those cards.

Name: Cybell Yvenstar

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Personality: Passionate and fiery, Cybell Yvenstar doesn’t care who she burns on her way to the top. If you underestimate her, she will kill you. If you overestimate her, she will rise to meet your expectations. If you judge her for what she is, she will change. Nothing about her can stand being stagnant. She needs to always be doing something, but once she’s gotten into her focus mode, nothing can deter her from seeing through to the end. She loves proving her superiority to others, and she hates losing, but despite both she is a courteous winner and loser.

Brief Bio: Cybell isn't from the obsidian district, and even right now she could be living with her father in the nicer part of the sapphire district. But she wanted her freedom, and she couldn't have that at home. One day, before her father was back from work, Cybell took what she didn't want to leave and walked right out the door, leaving a note for her father that told him where she was going and how to contact her if he absolutely needed to. She bought herself a cheap place in the obsidian district and got right to work building a name for herself in this rough new setting.

A month after running away, she called her father to tell him that she was fine, and ever since that month of silence she's kept in contact with him. The time and distance has greatly improved their relationship, and he's even come to the obsidian district and visited Bell a couple of times to check up on her. Bell was a good duelist, and she slowly but surely recruited friends and beaten enemies into what would become the Silver Dragons gang. And then she ran into Ian during a raid on an enemy gang and everything went downhill from there.

Deck Type: Blue-Eyes Alchemy

Key Card: Blue-Eyes Platinum Dragon

Known Cards: Blue-Eyes White Dragon, White Lightning Fusion, Silver’s Cry

Spirit Partner: Maiden with Eyes of Blue
May (what Cybell calls her) is Bell’s oldest friend. She’s been with the spirit longer than she can remember, and the two are as close as sisters. Whereas Bell is fire and passion and heat, May is water and calm and peaceful. She loves Cybell unconditionally, and the two get along remarkably well. Bell’s Maiden is best friends with Ian’s Azure Child spirit.

NOTE: Everything past here is just for fun, but feel free to do them if you want.

VA: (that's "voice actor" in case you don't know. A link to a sample of the voice in question would be ideal here)

Battle theme: (Links please)

Out-of-battle theme:

Edit: Sorry Varionus, I was waiting for you to get a post in and didn't see that you wanted me to post first. I posted now.

Name: Zion Horacio

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Personality: Zion is always willing to lend a helping hand, being kind and always listening with open ears. He tends to critically think of situations, considering both sides of a story, or seeing the glass both half empty and half full. Zion can be a bit silly at times, even a bit cocky played for laughs, and for the most part keeps a level-headed appearance
...Except when it comes to card games. When he is playing card games, a spark within him ignites as he likes to do battle with his opponent, ever battle phase being something grand or a spectacle to watch. However this sudden burst of fiery personality brings along reckless behavior, sacrificing his own card advantage for a extremely climatic battle, and he encourages this from his opponents too. The thing is however, he doesn't even need to be the one playing to get excited, and just seeing two monsters duke it out, one on one, is good enough to light him up.

Whenever Zion begins a fight with someone, he takes his hood down from his head, and pushes his hair up from his face, keeping it in place with a thin black hair band.

Brief Bio:Two years ago, Zion used to be master class, where he took on big shots at high level tournaments and he showed his opponents his fiery, passionate, and reckless style of dueling, even becoming a national champion in his home town. Back than he used to be a bit foolish, and was reckless in his decision making even outside of dueling. People were able to take advantage of his careless personality however, and during a world level tournament he was framed for cheating, as someone inserted cards into his deck when he wasn't looking and scratched the backs of them, causing him to be disqualified in the semi-finals. This could have been prevented if he looked at his deck before dueling, but due to his careless personality at the time he got too excited from wanting to fight and jumped into the next round without another thought.

Zion not only blamed his thoughtless personality at the time, but also blamed the tournaments themselves, as he proceeded to swear off tournaments and never participated in them again. He said to himself that they brought the worst out of people, pushing some players to cheat or scam their way to the top for the marvelous grand prize that awaited the winner. Afterwards he decided to take up traveling from place to place, becoming a drifter. During his adventures he met all sorts of people, where he learned and gained from them, and due to his adventures he became the man he is today, a calm and thoughtful individual who tries to help everyone in need. Even though he doesn't duel as much as he used too and still refuses to participate in tournaments, he still gets that jolt of excitement when witnessing two passionate duelists go head to head.

Deck Type: Time/Shifters-Breakers-Converters, the three centerpieces of his deck. Time/Shifters are small race of triangle-headed alien like creatures that allow him to Pendulum Summon both his smaller Pendulum Monsters for tribute summons, or special summon his higher level Time/Breaker monsters. Time/Breakers are usually fire type Dragon monsters that are the big beaters of his deck, who burn away the users life points or deck to activate powerhouse effects. Time/Converters are Genryu type monsters, and are the extra deck monsters of his deck, usually Xyz monsters. Their job is restoring the users life points through actions such as milling or banishing cards, and have forms of self-revival through once again, burning away the users life points.

Key Card: Time/Breaker Inferno Devilfist

Known Cards:
Time/Shifter Infinity Rookie
Time/Breaker Inferno Devilfist
Time/Conductor Kaiser Star Crusher

Spirit Partner:
Time/Shifter Infinity Rookie - A newborn in the Time/Shifter by far, Infinity tries to put on a brave facade because he's the new guy, but usually can't keep it up and gets spooked by a lot of things. Because he is a small cluster just recently created, he can't talk and instead gives off a little chime like a bell. However because of this he tends to use his emotions to convey his feelings. It's said that he has infinite potential.

Battle theme: BREAKERZ「脳内Survivor

Well... My idea of adding a new guy has kinda been shot down, because I think there are now FAR too many guys in this to effectively keep track of.

Hm....

I'm not sure how to feel about the Time/ stuff yet. It looks like it can very easily set up the grave, but without a full decklist I can't tell how that would be utilised and some of the effects feel like they have really cheap activation costs (Like Meteor Rush and Turbo Shogun). I'll need to reserve judgment on them until a full deck's ready.

Also, if anyone wants some interaction, I could have Flikkar lead Shana to someone's character.

Krein: I too am skeptical about this Archfiend support. There aren't that many cards that outright utilize card position. Alien Infiltrator & Blast Fuse (or some such name) are the only ones I can think of right now, neither of which are good for anything. As Daze said, it mostly looks like having to keep track of more things just so we know which of our monsters is about to get destroyed by Darkbishop, or who will lose ATK against Terrorking. While I do have to say no to this, I'll at least give you five stars for creativity ^_^

Jay: dem Dragons, son. dem custom ones, precisely. From where I see it, Gold's effect is extremely abusable (for a gemini at least), and Electrum & Platinum and insane devastators. Combine this with having pretty much a Poly that has a self-restore effect like Iron Core of Koa'Ki Meiru, and this deck could wipe the floor with pretty much anything it wants. I did notice that the vast majority of these dragons are geminis (gj on that; we need more of those) which effectively only lets one monster gain an effect per turn, but the only two that aren't are also the ones I'm most concerned about. Especially with Platinum being essentially a REDMD on steroids who currently has the highest ATK of any monster in this RP, let alone custom ones (current 2nd-place for custom monster ATK is Bountr Skull General at 3500, iirc). I'd suggest toning down their ATK at the very least, but I really do like those dragons, and will preemptively add Cybell to the hider since I'm already in this thread.
Not gonna bother getting started on Maiden since it's not even noon here yet...broken bitch

Van: I'm with Roxas on this one. They look like a pretty neat archetype (hell, I'd probably run these if they were real) but setting up would be a breeze. Seeing a decklist would be ideal so we can come to a final conclusion from there. Short of that, you're accepted.

Matt: If you want to create a villain character, I'd wait a little bit. I'm pretty sure I already mentioned this, but one of my characters will end up leaving the RP after the tournament, and won't be coming back for quite some time. Shortly after the tournament would be the ideal time to create somebody working under the villain. I'll shoot a PM your way with further details.

@Empire: Okay, that'll be fine by me! Maybe I can just try to restructure the deck with some different cards to make it able to hold its own slightly longer, or make different custom cards to help them out.
Oh yeah, I also am a little concerned about the Blue-Eyes Alchemy deck. Aside from just having a crap ton of monsters with high attack and powerful effects (even if you have to wait a turn to get them active, unless Supervise is used), it would seem that they're incredibly easy to summon with the card support they have. Especially with Blue-Eyed Maiden -_-... I'm surprised that card isn't banned or limited, it has a really nice of effect of being able to say "Fuck you here's a bunch of monsters in one turn" to everything you do.

Yeah, the "bunch of monsters in one turn" is just there as a YGOTAS reference, but the fact does stand that it summons one hell of a beast in one turn. Granted that itself isn't for much worry, but still... if you don't have the right hand or draw, have fun for the next few turns...
