I was a nice guy and informed people of the spell that I was preparing and the effects it had, as there was a small dispute in regard to my charging AND evading in the same post... plus as a fan of more cinematic combat I didn't mind giving people something to visualize... and immediately after, Green makes a post that says "LOL I'm out. Have fun with this fucking nuke." ... disregarding the immense amount of sensory equipment that thing has, saying he 'lost track of her'... on top of the fact that her aura is stupidly bright and would give her away like hiding a light-bulb behind a sheet of cardboard... something about seeing the light around it and all...As a whole, it screams the following: "That spell will fuck my shit up and bad. I better figure out a way to gtfo. Oh shit, but if I leave, I lose. Better use something that fucks them over after I leave."

Ok quickly. It isn't metagaming if Edmund decides to eject from the Hellhound. You point out that Green did this after you told him the effects of the spell, but you already described the action in the IC as something Edmund should notice. Assuming, Green changes his post and notices Ysolda on the Hellhound. Edmund would still be fine in ejecting out of the Hellhound if he feared Ysolda might kill him. You might be angry that Edmund "ran away", but the action itself can't be considered metagaming.

The only reason you think it´s metagaming is because you felt the need to state the details of your upcoming attack. I would have done the exact same thing in that kind of situation regardless of Ysolda channeling or not. I quickly discovered how the giant mecha sucks ass against smaller, faster opponents when Erde came over, and I´m still counting myself lucky that he started off in a position that put him in an airborne disadvantage (because of the tail) - If Erde was on the ground, he would have fucked my shit up and LeeRoy knows it. The mecha has a pretty poor design in terms of high-tier ombat prowess, to be honest.

Now, if Beta hadn´t gone out of his way to describe his attack ahead of time, I wouldn´t be having that problem. Was it metagaming? Hell no. I don´t do that.

There is a contradiction here.

I think he means the problem of being accused of metagaming, not the problem of having to eject from his mech.

And yes, this is still going on. >_<

Ah. Just had a look at it. Very nice. I´ll whip up something of my own when I find the time. How do you wanna go about it? Straight-forward close-combat focused fight, or a mixed match?

So when Ysolda reached the mecha, my options really only came down to one. Bail the mecha and blow it, continuing the fight with the jet if I had to (removing the speed disadvantage), because there is no way the mecha can harm Ysolda in it´s current position unless it blows up.

You, sir... are so full of shit that I can smell you through this computer. You have a 400 foot long tail on a mech 1/10th the size I thought it was. That tail could EASILY have swung around and hit Ysolda. Adding to the fact that everyone here seems to think you're either an idiot or a metagamer for neglecting the fact your mech had HUNDREDS of sensors and cameras on it to see Ysolda... the fact you would also suddenly forget the 400 foot tail that you had JUST used against Erde... is pretty damning. So... regardless of what Ysolda was doing, you could have easily attacked her without nuking yourself.

GG.

If he had no other option but to run, then sure. But given the facts stated above... it may not TECHNICALLY be metagaming if he changes it to notice her... but it WOULD be complete and utter bullshit and everyone would know it.

Does it really matter what he could have done? There are almost always multiple options they can take, so just because he could have swung his tail at you(and if you were on the mecha, or relatively close, haven't read the sheet yet; swinging the tail might be as useless as swinging a sword when someone too far past it for it to be useful), doesn't mean he actually had to swing the tail.

@Green: I think we should skip the guns this time and stick with melee weapons or hand to hand, though admittedly my hand-to-hand probably needs the most work. I haven't written an unarmed fight in ages.

I agree. The guns got a bit in the way last time.
We can do a pure melee weapon thing then. It enables us to incorporate hand-to-hand, so.

When he states he only had the option to self-nuke... yeah, it matters. It's called bullshit, Rilla. And you can't bullshit a bullshitter.

As for it being pointless, it's a 280ft tall thing, with a 400ft tail. He could easily have reached her regardless of where she was on/near the mech. The fact he instead chose to summon up a game-changing NPC out of fucking nowhere despite the restriction put in play on NPC usage... screams of bullshit. That no one other than myself and Vordak seem to have noticed it says a lot about the preferential treatment he's receiving.

But does it matter? You say he had more than one option. Cool. Just because he had another option, doesn't mean he had to choose that other option.

And I haven't seen any preferential treatment, it just seems like no one is agreeing with your point of view - and you are taking that as.. Well, they like him more.

I like Khan more than I like a good deal of you, and called him out on being able to detect a bomb, run away from a bomb, and get a randomly placed shield between him and the explosion.

Good job debating the preferential treatment, but not the reason I claimed he's getting it.

Sounds good to me. :) We can work out the specifics in the PM thread once you get your character figured out.

Your only claim is essentially, "Me and this guy agree to this, and you lot don't"

Which really isn't explaining much.

His first post has him talking to someone named Operator who gives him a 'vacation', so that could most likely be the 'out of nowhere' NPC, you dolt.

So because he mentions a random chode, he's allowed to nuke himself on a whim when he's afraid of losing despite his character being in a doomtank that could easily perform other methods of attack and is over ten times the size of the biggest thing it's fighting.

Glad we cleared up the fact he's a metagaming twat.
Since we've established that metagaming is ok, I'll be making a post in Necropoli now.
