Best of Luck Fantasyfan, I wish you well in everything. Hello there The New Yorker (aka Serge), It is lovely to see you round these parts. I rather like your CS and the image is working fine for me.

Hello and thank you. I don't need to tell you how much of a pleasure the thought of RPing with you again is. It's riddled throughout our correspondence.

What sort of place would you have for a revenant or recently turned vampire that was a top tier special operator(became some sort of undead immortal in Afghanistan)? I was hoping to write it from the point of someone pretty much completely new to this world, and to write a character who has a good bit of development to do in adapting his new found skill set instead of just relying on his old one. I can come up with something else, but I think it would be pretty fun. I want to run it by you guys though to see how you think it would fit.

Undead, revenants and vampires are all entirely welcome to this world, Lukas. Back stories are just fine and never a problem. When you fill out your CS, you may want to consider why it is that your character would be a working professional for the Bain & Hoyle Investigation and Recovery Company, and what skill set he might yet bring to the table, whether it be his old skill set while he learns the new, or otherwise.

Hello/goodbye, players, new and old!

Just a quick heads up, my internet is in financial flux. Things should be worked out soon (Sunday at the latest), but I won't be able to post unless I can get to the library Saturday evening. I'll try and get something up tomorrow!

And a welcome from me the non-welcoming, welcoming committee. Jump on in. The water is fine. The best way to play is to play. (yes, yes, see? I'm the deep one)

And The New Yorker!? Ha...nice to see you about and look forward to the talents you bring. (Oh the same for the others too, just I remember Serge, so I know what to except. Some pretty good writing.)

Missing Dot already, but I'll hang on.

Now, my cookies are gone, so what's for breakfast?

It's okay, I went to the only class that matters; African American lit. It was our last class so there were some tearful goodbyes.

-Name: Jay-Jay

-Gender: Female.

-Type: A human demonhost-turned-mage.

-Appearance: Jay-Jay is an attractive Caucasian woman with long red hair and bright hazel eyes. She stands at just over six foot in height and weighs in at a little under one-hundred and fifty pounds. Jay-Jay is decidedly average, when compared to the more fantastic members of the Bane and Hoyle group. She is not particularly toned or fit, with nothing more than a jogger’s physique but she maintains at least a consciousness of her appearance. She dresses in somewhat average, every-day clothing and doesn’t really belong to any prominent sub-culture that might decide her attire. Her once prominent tan has lost some of its lustre due to a year of nearly constantly studying with Oro-Mai, leaving her skin a delightful olive colour.

The demon inside, who now refers to herself as of Katago̱gí̱, is an enigma in a number of ways. For one, she admits her heritage to a grand total of two people: one of which is Jay-Jay herself and the other is a Norse raven demi-god who happens to teach the host of said demon. Another part of her enigmatic charm is her ability to change forms. The demon has a few factors that remain the same: She is always a female, always wreathed in fire and is always presented with a pair of horns on her head, but things like height and just how far on the human/demon scale she presents herself is seemingly under her beck and call.

-Age: 23

-Powers/Traits: Since her last adventure with the Bain and Hoyle Company, Jay-Jay has undergone a great deal of training under the watchful eye of the Munin, Oro-Mai. The focus of her training has been on training her as a mage and under the tutelage of the ancient bird she has excelled. Her already prominent Pyromancy skills have been risen from the skills of a journeyman to the talents of a master; the powers once exclusive to the demon are now shared by Jay-Jay. Atop her pyromantic talents, Jay-Jay has started to learn a number of new magical schools: She can access bound items, summon a small, mute familiar and has learned to communicate via telepathic link.

Jay-Jay has lost some of her stranger tendencies under the Munnin’s tutelage, and has instead begun to depend upon her magic more and more. Despite this though, it is impossible to discount the reason Jay-Jay originally joined the Bain and Hoyle company, and the powers that reason has. The demon inside Jay-Jay, who eventually conceded to being referred to as ‘Kata’ is still an unpredictable force whose powers have grown in direct correlation with her host. Should Jay-Jay transform, Kata can access and amplify Jay-Jay’s magics multiple times over.

Outside of her magical training, Jay-Jay pursues a number of hobbies: She takes an almost oxymoronic delight in cooking, considering her pyromania; she enjoys listening to music and has a very American love of coffee, guns and kung-fu films.

-Background: The quirky demon host has changed a lot in the time since her involvement in the Max debacle. Unlike most of the group Jay-Jay developed positively as a result the ordeal surrounding the first-born, and thanks to Kata’s manoeuvrings managed to acquire a magical tutor in the form of Oro-Mai. It cost the demon a few more secrets than she would like to have given, but Ori-Mai’s tendencies to horde knowledge have allowed the secret to remain exclusive amongst three individuals.

Prior to the events involving the first-born vampire, Jay-Jay was hired into the company more for her own sake than her natural talents. She was daughter to a former employee and a magus of considerable talents who went by the name of Maven and after a failed attempt to pluck knowledge from her mother’s archives, Jay-Jay was subjected to a near life-ending conjuration and subsequent assault by a number of demons who wished for a host. Among the black torrent of competing hell spawn, a single flicker of bright light shone through: a strange demon that asked not for subjugation, but for cohabitation. That demon was Katago̱gí̱.

Kata was and remains an anomaly among demon kind. She didn’t and doesn’t seem to be malevolent in any way and has, on several occasions, gone so far as to actively protect her host. It seeks something from Jay-Jay that, to this day, is unknown to all except host and demon. The demon has however, let a few things slip: namely that she is some form of Ifrit -a demon born at the first flicker of a flame- and that she has on at least a few occasions heavily associates herself with ancient Greece.

~ Juxy, lovely to see Jay-Jay back. Daisy will be thrilled. =D

Just a note to make, since this is the first time it's come up, but the fact that there are a number of characters here who were also in the first iteration of pieces means it could come up again.

Oro Mai isn't part of Bain and Hoyle anymore, he left a few months after the events of the first thread, and has since been acting on his own. It was part of the reason I chose to run a new character when this thread started up, as the previous 'mission' seemed a really good time to start the breakdown of Oro's relationship with the company, and I kind of always figured he wouldn't remain with B&H for long after that task had been finished.

Given he is one to keep his word, he would have still helped Jay-Jay hone her abilities, even after he had left -especially since his previous apprentice had 'graduated' by then- though by now he's likely moved on.

So basically, I'm saying it's good to see Jay-Jay running around again, I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do now, but that if anyone does want to bring up Oro, they have a bit of an idea what he's been up to.

Good to see Jay-Jay back. And good note there Derren.

@The New Yorker: I think Gabe is a great character, I just would like to see some background on why he is affiliated with the Bain & Hoyle Company.

I don't believe he is. He landed on the planet only a few years ago. He has probably heard of the company, and realized that it would be a good place to gather information, but most likely hasn't gotten around to it. He's probably been in a whiskey fueled binge for the last week, I doubt he's been thinking about joining up right now. He's dealing with his new found free will and the troubling thoughts it presents. I'd like him to join the company, of course, but I would like it to be natural. Would someone from B&H be sent to request his assistance? Should there be some triggering event? I'd be happy to speak about this over PM if you feel the need.

I'm pretty sure, Serge Darling, that you have to be an agent of B&H, especially since this is a RP well under way.

Doing wonderfully Lil, thank you so for asking! Hope you have a good class, and... Yeah, feeling you on the "fun times," but it'll be over soon enough! Just... Keep telling yourself that? Sorry, it's all I got, except for *holds up a tray of muffins and pastries from Panera* These are pretty good, if anyone wants to help themselves! I'll leave the coffee to Heroes, Lil or T - theirs is famous for goodness on many different levels ;)

Dot, your post? Oh my gosh, couldn't stop laughing, wondering if Semyon ever saw that coming? Thank heaven he's Russian...

And yes Serge (and I'll use Serge if you don't mind, because The New Yorker is just such a mouthful, even in my head Besides, it's where I'm from originally, and the NYer just feels like I'm talking weirdly to myself >.>), Lil is right (but of course! *grins* ) and you are meant to be a part of B&H already. No worries though, I will get with you and Heroes in PMs, and I think we can hash out something acceptable all around.

Are you referring to Apollo? Nah, I just kinda had this in mind when designing the character, I just wanted him to be new, like me.Besides, I was thinking he'd be in the B&H offices from my first post.

Really guys, I know you might have had bad experiences with selfish writers, but I'm really not like that.
