So, what's going to be the setting? A generic "beat the gym leaders/E4, acquire champion title" or something different?

Not necessarily "generic".
It will include that, but your "end" would be dependent on what the character wants, and doesn't have to be the league.

Just remove what's irrelevant to your own character. Also, there will be system changes. They're noted throughout the thread so far. They will be relisted in the OOC.

I'm not implying that being "generic" is bad, I just wanted to ask so I knew what type of character to make.

Not saying it is. I'll not force players to do any specific thing, but the classic options are still available.
Try to keep the ages under 20 maybe, and nothing that requires already mastering a class or two already.

Also: Are we going to do this strictly on forum, or use some sort of live-chat/screen sharing service, or a virtual tabletop site?

I recommend roll20 as it will hold rolls so we can have the forum as well.

Personality- There are things in life that he cannot change even at his speed. Because of things that occured in his past he has had to learn to accept and now most little things don't bother him. His ability to relax is the stuff of legend. Some people have claimed that he could remain completely calm even with a gun to his head. He claims that there are things that bother him but doesn't give examples because he likes being calm. He stands up for pokemon against those that actually want to harm them or are harming them without meaning to.

History- People have heard stories about how he was actually raised by pokemon. When he was 6 He got lost in the woods and after three days he should have died but a lucario saved his life by teaching him to survive. This was how he lived for the next 7 years before a trainer found him and led him back to civilization. That next year was spent learning the intricacies of humans. He is much less intelligent than others when it comes to schooling but he is as good as anyone when he is doing just about anything.

Your pokemon would still be fine at battling I am not that great in a battle either.

Cool! So make sure your Pokemon have Gluttony or something, and you'll always be able to help!

Oh, and VERY IMPORTANT: I modified death related rules. Injuries aren't their own thing, but instead, you can get story injuries through HP loss, to which Pokemon Centers don't have a once-per-day limit. Pokemon or Trainer, you begin to have a chance of dieing, if your HP falls under -50%. Between 0 and -49 is unconsciousness range, and after the -50%, you take one HP of damage for every standard action like normal. -100% is pretty much actual dead.
If anyone benefits from injuries in some way, it is now counted as -20% HP for that case only, and does not count for story injuries.
