Marx said
Jesse smiled and shook his head at the notion of him asking the girl for a favour. What he did wasn't a service or a favor, it was a necessity. Now if she wanted her scars to be taken care off, then she'd owe him a favor for the sheer amount of energy and effort it would take. "Count this as your favour," Jesse chuckled, pocketing the candy that the girl handed him, his eyes following her as she quickly moved out of the room. She seemed nice enough, perhaps they would become friends. Jesse mentally shrugged, looking back towards the professor now. The man was no longer behind his desk and seemed to be observing him, which was interesting to say the least. ',' Jesse thought with some relief.Jesse had no doubt that the skeleton who was previously hanging by the board was among the professor's lowest tier of summons. Jesse gave the summon a polite nod, taking the seat that the skeleton had pushed into place. The jitters Jesse had when first entering this room had long since gone and now he felt he could talk to the professor more naturally, having just halted the conversation to heal a girl that burst through the nearby window. Jesse's eyes met John's, the wheat coloured glow finally returning to his eyes. "My name's Jesse Wolfe," he answered, "You can call me either name, I go by both." Jesse wanted to ask what was so interesting about his combination, perhaps it wasn't common to have a wanderer who was without the ability to fight, though Jesse doubted John was very intimate with white magic. After all, with enough creativity anything could become a weapon, even in the hands of someone who opposed violence as much as Jesse."And what's your name, professor?" Jesse asked, giving a cursory glance to the skeleton, curious as to how useful the summon was. Jesse had certainly hoped that the professor's best summon wasn't a measly skeleton, but he didn't have much to go off of. Up until this afternoon, Jesse had yet to meet another wanderer. Their entire world was still a mystery to him.

John nodded throughout, listening intently. When the final question came, John sat up straight and answered. "The name's John Harker. Now, as much as I'd like to help you, I really can't." He produced a notepad and scribbled a room number and building, then handed it to Jesse. "Welcome to Prometheus, by the way. I hope to see you in my class." He stood up and said, "Those are directions to the Headmaster's office. I do apologize you had to see that strange event, but I do have things I need to do. The Headmaster is the one to talk to for enrollment, though, not the teachers." The statement was stern, but not too harsh.

"Understood, sir." Jesse nodded, taking the note and quickly jamming it into his pocket. "Thank you for your help. I'm sure I'll see you again shortly." Jessed stood, giving the man an appreciative though awkward bow. It seemed like the right thing to do at the moment, though it was hard not to feel a little silly. As he left, the thought passed through him, Jesse wondering if John had noticed Charos's presence. That Charos never left Jesse's side, even though he was essentially dismissed. Well if he did, it would probably be brought up in their next encounter, Jesse figured slipping out of the room quickly.

/Exit scenario 10

Scenario 15

Hours passed by since Jesse first arrived and now the details had been taken care of. He was now a student, albeit a rather late one, but a student none-the-less. His room was simple, but an upgrade from the motel room he spent the past few years in. It was a bit of a relief to have the room to himself as well, though having no roommate wouldn't make integrating into this world much easier. Jesse realised he had been pacing back and forth in his room, stopping dead in his tracks. He paced when he was nervous and usually all the process did was enable his anxiety. "I guess I should try to get out there," he reasoned, looking toward the door. Jesse went through his drawer, looking at the few clothes he did have and pulled out a white t-shirt that was stiff from the amount of times he had to bleach the damn thing to get blood stains out and threw it on. 'Well, best place to start would probably be the mess hall, eh?' Jesse shrugged, taking his leave and walking out of the room with a little more swagger, trying to remind himself that everyone here was like him in a way.

Jesse found the mess hall after wandering around for a good, his stomach growling with the ferocity of a tiger by the time that he finally grabbed a meal and sat down. It seemed rather quiet, though it was surprisingly late too. Jesse had never been too good with time and in these types of situations it always showed. He might be pretty damn good at some things, but normal stuff like when one was supposed to eat dinner had always been lost on him. A habit he picked up from working full time outside of high school. You eat whenever you have time with that kind of life.

Jesse ate his sandwich with an absent minded expression across his face, his mind drifting off to his time learning how to control his white magics. An event that still lingered in his mind was shortly after he first summoned Charos. It was right after he lost a man he was trying to save that was shot outside of the motel he lived in. Charos was holding the young man just as he did the girl earlier today, the only difference being that the situation was much more life or death. And that death won that day. Charos did not approve of failure, making sure to make that very apparent to Jesse. He gave Jesse a challenge, one that would decide whether or not Charos would continue to support him. One that Jesse loved and despised Charos for. He had to chop off his own left hand and repair the damage and reconnect the severed limb. Jesse blinked rapidly breaking free of his day dreaming and looked toward his wrist. The jagged scar that ran around his wrist was still there to remind him that it wasn't just a product of his imagination. 'Christ I'm a mad man." he softly smiled, taking another bite of his sandwich.

Scenario #16 (Ivy, Aphrodite, Mei, Jade - Request in the OOC if you want to join and have a good reason for doing so)

Over the past few days, Ivy had been helping Jade to gain mastery over her powers. The girl's absolute banality vis-a-vis ethical use of dark magic meant that the training would be a long and arduous process. Ivy had excelled at a young age because her difficulty in empathising with others had allowed her to use maximal force, only stopping short of actually killing her quarry.

The two, now into their fifth lesson together, were soaring over the rooftops of Ceteris. Ivy, masterfully controlling a circular plate of ice underneath her feet, was trailed closely by Jade. They were both in pursuit of a petty thief; easy target practise. His panicked and frantic scrambling across streets and alleyways suggested that he was aware of their presence. This would soon turn out to be a boon as the man's panicked state of mind hindered his ability to escape: he turned into yet another alleyway and stumbled over an errant pile of bricks.

"No witnesses." observed Ivy placidly. "Good. Contain him and slam him against the wall. Watch your power. Too hard and you'll kill him."

Scenario 16

Jade flew quietly behind Ivy, her eyes on the thief that tried running in the alleys below them. When Ivy spoke, Jade nodded and smiled slightly, lowering herself a bit to get a better visual. As the thief turned around, Jade formed a small sphere of dark magic in her hand and sent it hurling towards the thief, with three more following right after the first. They reached him before he had a chance to react, the four spheres hitting each of their targets; both wrists and ankles. Once they hit, they kept flying backwards, sending the man flyin backwards as well until slamming into the wall, acting as cuffs and keeping him there.

Claps can be heard from the rooftop as Aphrodite witnessed the entire thing on accident.

"Well done ladies, well done. See Jade I told you Ivy would take you as her pupil."

Aphrodite hovers down towards the two with a grin on her face.

"So what he do, shoplift a store, murder?" as she extends out the word "murder" she places her hands in a creep like position, half tyrannosaurus rex, half stupidity.

The bookstore here didn't have the best of selection. It was tiny, smelled of dust, and maybe a half dozen shelves had anything recent. Even still, she managed to find a few interesting books in the fantasy section, near the storefront window.

After replacing a book, one of Jim Butcher's Dresden novels, she took a moment to look outside. The sky was reasonably clear. There were few clouds, the sun painted in oranges and yellows from the oncoming sunset, a couple people were flying around on discs of ice....

Huh? Mei rubbed her eyes, making sure she wasn't seeing things. She went to a school full of magically skilled people, sure, but she had never seen black magic used so....oddly. Leaving the store without a purchase, she started making her way through the streets, trying to figure out where the individuals had landed.

Ivy landed with finesse next to Aphrodite and grinned at the thief who was now visibly trembling. To her great disappointment, the man was completely unscathed. This spoke volumes about Jade's precision and it was a sign of unequivocal improvement. However, apprehending criminals with a mindset that made them impervious to injury was not a tactic conducive to intimidation.
"Good job, but you forgot something." Ivy called up to Jade.
She grabbed the man by his long, unkempt hair and pushed hard, smashing the back of his head against the brick wall. Blood cascaded onto the grey and gravelly ground, glinting in stark contrast.
"That's better." she said in a satisfied voice as the man whimpered and mumbled incoherently.

Jade landed on her tiptoes after Ivy had told her she forgot something. She cringed at the sight of blood and walked over to her, frowning slightly. "I'm getting there." She called out to Aphrodite, turning towards her. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh I was going to go listen to some music at the cafe. On my way, I was listening to some tunes and noticed you guys and here we are. So how has Sensei Ivy been treating ya, I see you don't lack mercy, that's not a good look. Bad student or possibly bad teacher?"

Aphrodite says teasingly, as the man whimpers and cowers in fear as the three girls conversate over him as if this is a common routine for them.

Mei was able to determine that they were fairly close, maybe a couple blocks away. It was a matter of figuring out where on that block, however. After some snooping around, she eventually determined it had to be an alleyway three blocks down. Her suspicions were confirmed when she could hear to speaking....three girls? And what was the whimpering? She kept flush against the wall outside the mouth of the alley, trying to eavesdrop.

"Or both?" came a malevolent hiss from further down the alleyway.
The voice, which had been clearly heard by all three of them, was apparently disembodied as the utterer was nowhere in sight. Ivy put a protective hand on Jade's shoulder and pushed her back towards Aphrodite.
"Stay here." she commanded.
Ivy moved further into the alleyway, focusing her telepathic powers in case she came upon an unguarded mind. After only a few seconds, she identified another person in their vicinity.
"Come out from behind that wall!" she called out to Mei.

Damn. Mei expected black mages, but not psychics. She could always run, act like she was never there. No, she was far too curious this time. Holding her right hand out in front of her, ready to cast if need be, she slowly stepped into view of the other women. As it turned out, they looked to be around Mei's age. Even still, she didn't let her guard down. "What are you doing down here?"

"Bad student probably." Jade shrugged and grinned. She turned quickly at the sound of someone else and got tense. She backed over to Aphrodite, her eyes darting from one place to another as she looked for the source of the voice. When the girl came out, Jade responded to her question without thinking, her tone coming out more rude than she wanted it to be, "Why do you care?"

Scenario #17 (Carolyn and Cancer only): Malignant Tumors 101

Cancer was sitting in a comfy lounge chair in The Academy's library. The library was vast and held much information, but it also had other non-academic material available for students. Cancer's choice of such material was comic books, and all day long he has been binge-reading a stack of comics that was centered around a teenager and his friends who became superheroes- even though none of them had powers.

As he finished an issue, he put it down and went to pick up the next one off the stack, only to pause. He looked up and saw a familiar face in the distance who was walking toward his position. Cancer slowly stood up, turned his back on the approaching person, and began to walk slowly, eventually quickening his pace to that of powerwalking. He weaved in and out of the bookshelves, and stopped after a while due to believing that he lost the tail. He laughed quietly, proud of his "anti-follower skills", only to stop short as he heard footsteps still close behind him. He turned his head around slowly and did not say a word.

"Uh-oh."

"Relax." ordered Carolyn irritably, frowning at Cancer.
Ever since their encounter, she had pored over his records and any documents pertaining to him, obsessively trying to piece together a background story. She had expected it to be difficult, considering how awkward Cancer was and how unwilling he was to show his face, but she had not expected it to be so impossible.
"What's the matter, aren't you going to call me a cunt this time, Jack?" she asked, refraining from using her telepathic abilities to see what emotions the face behind his helmet was betraying. "Or is it John? James? Sam? Paul? Trevor? Michael? Charles? Do you really believe that Cancer is your real name?"

Cancer answered both of the prefect's questions with another set of questions. "...Nooo? And. ..Yeeees?"

He expected Carolyn to be nosy about everything, but he did not expect her to dig into his personal history- which, at least to his knowledge, he did not have.

Carolyn sighed with exasperation, becoming more frustrated by the second. Of course this would happen. Cancer would have to be intransigent about his own history because if he seceded the point that all may not be as it seems, his entire life would be thrown into chaos.
"What are your parents' names?" she asked dryly. "Where do they live? Are they still alive? Do you even know?"

"I don't know, man! And to be honest, I don't really care! If YOU want to know, then by all means, you're allowed to do that mind-reading or brain probing thing that Psions do.", Cancer said.

He took out a small, weathered bracelet out of his pocket and handed it to her. It had a few indecipherable phrases and characters, but two things were very clear. The phrase "CANCER" in quotations and in all capital letters, followed by "000".

"Ooooh, you are a good student." Aphrodite says poking Jade in the side teasingly before focusing her attention to the new girl.

"Isn't it obvious, we're super heroes. Catching bad guys, smashing their face in, then going on our merry way. We are the night!"
