Hello you lovely blokes. I'm new to this site and I'm itching to get an RP going with said theme. So how about it you exploronauts? Who's up for it?

...Oh, yeah... I should fill you in on the details...

My idea is to have it entirely story driven with character depth and development. We're not space marines looking to slaughter bugs with unlimited ammo and sylvester stalllone curled lips, we're a joint intergalactic space faring group exploring uncharted clusters in our galaxy.

That's right.

The ongoing warfare in our galaxy has finally seized; it's all about peace and love in our star sectors man. W-wait. You didn't know? Oh man, the major space federations signed a peace treaty over 50 years ago! It's all about doing your part in the galactic community and expanding new horizons. So the joint committee of the Galaxy is pooling together resources to launch the first multi-species crew of exploronauts to check out the outer rim. Chart new worlds. Find new resources. Help out those backwater colonies that are still stuck in the stone age, and possibly settle major disputes planetside.

I'm looking for RPers that have an alien character in mind that is near and dear to them. Not some random mary sue put together, but a character you put some actual thought into because the species of your alien, one way or another, will have some sort of history (good or bad) with everyone else. I plan to accomplish this by having you fill out a CS (leaving out the alien origins part) and if I accept you, you can then start collaborating with other players to flesh out all of that good stuff.

Yup. The flower children of the cosmos. We'll be way in over our heads in system wars, colony enslaving bio mutation viruses, dark matter occultists, and discovering artifacts/ lost planets that may uncover the origin point (or destruction) of all things.

Mutations, occultists,artifacts and destroction. Enough of things to make me drool myself.

Haha right on! I won't be making missions exclusively either. Players can come up with their own scenarios that may be character driven or just plain fun. Since we're going into uncharted territory there's more freedom for RPers to create what they like. The overall goal is to expand foreign relations, gather resources, and whatever else that would be beneficial for our galactic community. It won't just be fluff either.

Not sure how I'm going to set it up, but every mission will have immediate consequences that will be felt by everyone. Say my Gordallian excavator, Lugobi, found a rare mineral and sent it to the probe transfer to be processed back in federation territory. Oh what? It turned out to actually be scrap ore that contained a bacterial contaminant of an ancient parasite race that is now wreaking havoc in the 3rd quadrant of our federation space!?

There goes the Gordallian reputation in the community, Lugobi's approval rating, and overall morale on the ship. Damn it Lugobi!!!

If we get more people interested, I'll start flushing out the details in an ooc.

Great! Thanks folks for showing interest. I plan on having a small crew of maybe 4-5 to keep things contained, so I'll wait for a couple more interests before starting an OOC.

If so, could I come from a warlike race? Not because I wanna go all Brock Sampson the Klingon on a setting that's clearly trying to steer clear of that attitude, but because the dichotomy of trying to fit into the crew you asked for is appealing to me.

If not, I definitely don't have any concepts set in stone yet.

Most definitely! Any and all types are welcome! Yes it's still open. Not much activity in the ooc for now, but i should get to working on some more things shortly.
