An Outsider A Glorious Failure

Hmm true. What about far less precise control over the beams, but the max power is still astounding.

I remember reading once, I think it was in Whedon's run, that Cykes trained himself to keep his eyes shut whenever he woke up until he had donned his glasses. I always thought that illustrated pretty well just how much control he has to exercise at all times. I was just going to go with that.

Christian Name:
Rhane

True Name:
Wolfsbane

From:
Ross, Kingdom of the Picts (Scottland)

Powers:
- The ability to shapeshift into a wolf-like humanoid (werewolf), or into a full wolf at will. Certain aspects of her form remain with her constantly. Her canines always look a little too long, her fingernails too clawlike, and the way she carries herself is too much like an animal. It is offputting and, as if she were surrounded by an aura of menace, folk generally judge her as being some type of criminal at best. Furthermore, her lycanthropy is made obvious to those versed in pagan folklore by a birthmark in the shape of a crescent moon on the back of her left hand.
- She is possessed of heightened senses and animal instincts which allow her to detect changes and inconsistancies that others might miss. It also grants her an unequaled understanding of animals. However, this blessing has proven to be a double edged sword, in that she is easily distracted by distant sounds and smells. And at times of great emotion, it takes all of her willpower to keep her instincts from taking over.
- Finally, Rhane is able to heal wounds with great speed. Her body is twice as capable at fighting off diseases as are others. Burns and scars heal with a quickness that would make any peasant cry witchcraft. And she can survive injuries, within reason, that might kill or forever paralyze others. One can then have no doubt as the pure agony she must surely have suffered in order to carry brands in the shape of crucifixes across her arms, legs and seemingly all over the rest of her body.

Pros: (Character's strength, either or skill or power based)
- She is physically very strong and agile, even before transforming.
- She is skilled at surviving in the wild. She could live off the land for years and knows how to make many herbal remedies.
- She is an expert at moving silently and avoiding detection.
- She can befriend and train animals like a king's own falconer and huntsman. She is truly at one with God's creatures.
- Though it was not her choice, she has learned Latin and the basics of theology.

Cons:(Same as pros but the opposite, anything that can prove to be a hindrance to them in missions and every day life)
- Her appearance alone often frightens others.
- She has difficulty dealing with people. She has to really work at it in order to seem like a normal human. Such attempts however, rarely succeed. Normally she seems more like a madwoman.
- She has a great love for animals, and will often go to great lengths to protect and pamper domesticated animals.
- She is somewhat jaded when it comes to both religion and human nature in general. She is wont to make heretical comments when pressed.
- Coping with a feral nature, Rhane's mind is easily exploited by telepathy. She is extremely vulnerable to psychic attacks and/or manipulation.

Virtue:
Courage

Vice:
(She's taking three due to her distance from society.)
Wildness, Ruthlessness, Faithlessness

Favored weapon:
Tooth and Claw. Failing that, she will use a bow or a sword.

Favored profession/Labor:
Hunter, Animal trainer. Mercenary.

Brief bio:
Orphaned and raised by a sadistic priest, Rhane faced hardship and abuse from an early age. She was taught religion and it didn't sit well with her, but that didn't matter. Father Craig would beat the truth into her if he had to. When she hit puberty and changed for the first time, the priest realized that her soul had been claimed by the devil already. From that piont forward she was kept in a cage and he tortured her to save her soul. Eventually she escaped and lived as a wolf in the wild. She found that she could sell pelts and remedies at village markets. And buy weapons the better to hunt and skin with. Eventually she got far enough away from her home that she stopped running.

I'm trying to think of somewhere more obvious to put Kassy's mark. I'm thinking her forehead, but that is easily hidden as well.

I honestly can't think of a good place, because Cybelle had the same idea I had about putting it on her hand. *thinks*

On her forehead? You could have her possess an actual third eye...

Yeah, I might keep that. She'd have to wear some kind of headband all the time. Or maybe just a full hood, because of her hair, too.

*nods* That works for me. Thanks for sounding off Cybelle. *goes to tweak her app*

The problem is he automatically uses his powers~ i found it fair since he has to release them and well....either the release is drawing attention or him getting close to a miniature of a red freaking hulk....with a better haircut of course. IF you want i can also add a bigger birthmark covering his back or chest~

A birthmark would be nice, but now I understand your position on how strong his curse is.
Blacksam: I can work with that, tone down the precision to keep the power and loose the geometric spatial relation.

Cybelle: really nice, just about what i was looking for on the first try. One thing is that your human image is [image] to me, can you double check the code in the cs or provide a link?

Dizzy: I think the third eye is a good idea, if you keep it on the back of your neck i'll let you see what is behind you as well when it is uncovered.

@ everyone: Double check your Histories, odds are I am going to use something in there for a plot device later on down the line.

I don't think Kass would handle that very well. Also... ^_^ I did some history research via Wikipedia and chose a place in Spain known for it's population of Moorish people in the early centuries. I have no idea when in time the RP is set, but I figure there would be plenty of descendants there.

I get a twinge of upset feeling when there are like.. medieval type places and it's all very... er... homogeneous.

Added a birthmark~ And well there were societies which contained all kind of people. Corsica was one! But it was rather because of the fact that Corsica was under no crown until Napoleon! It was a huge haven filled with sailors and pirates of all kinds and if you grew tried of sailing....why not living there? Many people did!

*grins* Corsica sounds fun.

I'm just saying, whenever medieval Europe shows up in movies/books/tv, it sort of neglects the diversity that would exist there, even at those times. Maybe not in all places, but certainly in many of them.

Christian Name: Angelus DeSantos
(He has denounced his christian name...) Common folk seem to just call him "Demon"

True Name: Nightcrawler

From: Born in the French Church of Mother Mary

Powers: Just like most legends of demons he can manifest himself anywhere he sees fit in a plume of black smoke. Crossing between the world of darkness (as he calls it) back into the world everyone else is familiar with. His only limitation is if he cannot see where he is going to reappear, he may end up inside a stone wall or mountain top.

Pros: With his ability to teleport from place to place and his naturally flexible and agile body, He is a very nimble fellow. He would make a perfect scout and/or guerilla tactic. Not to mention the prehensile tail is adept at picking pockets. His hands and feet are both elongated and much stronger than normal.

Cons: Thanks to his "unique" appearance he cannot blend in with a crowd unless fully cloaked. He tends to be antisocial due to the very same reason. The rumors regarding his family and how he was born often give him doubts of if there is a god and/or why was he inflicted with such a curse...

Virtue: peserverence

Vice: Faithlessness

Favored weapon:
Two French Obsidian handled Daggers called "Angelus" and "Succubus"

And an Ivory Blackpowder dueling pistol

Favored profession/Labor: Courier, Scout.

Brief bio: *Sorry got carried away lol

Appearance:

*The one in the center specifically*

Knighthawk: Thank you! Added a link. Let me know if it's working.

Dizzy: I've encountered several forms of media which focus on culturally and ethnicly diverse areas of Medieval Europe as well as those which focus on culturally and ethnicaly homogenous places. And I have to say that I don't mind either in the least, so long as historical accuracy (or at least plausability) adhered to. I think it's a crime against good scholarship to throw in characters who don't belong, wether they decrease or increase the cultural and/or ethnic diversity. That being said, this is a version of the X-Men. Realism has, in many ways, been thrown out the window before we've even begun.

Uhhh dagger pistols? Number one weapon one accidentally killed himself or burned his hand off.....those things are are bitchy! Add too much gun powder and you can collect your hand from the ground! Or it won't go off because blood made the powder wet. Furthermore..... I hope you mean precision pistols and not flintlocks like stated in the picture....otherwise the powder could drop from your pan and it's getting useless....

And why not using a pistol and a saber? I would find that combo more effective and harass than two dagger pistols one probably will kill himself with xD

And trust me! I collect powder weapons! I love those old trusty bitches! I mean you can load everything, even forks and knives! Which they did sometimes!

@dizzy, no worries, lots of folks of all ethnicities will be present. I stated no specific year because I didn't want to limit myself in creativity but I would allow even japanese via dutch from 1609. I am basing some of Xavier after St Francis Xavier who had visited india, borneo, japan and the maluku islands of indonesia in the 1500's-1550's.

@roman: I like the nightcrawler, but there was a dibs earlier, if he doesn't do nightcrawler then I'll let you have at him. I noticed you failed to mention wall crawling or blending into shadows as powers. I say in humor: if he's going to use flintlocks, at least we know happened to his missing fingers and toes!

To be honest I just found the daggers to be unique is all. I didn't see much versatility in weapons from the other cs's so I didn't want to go full pistol or musket. If you like I can do normal daggers and a dueling pistol if you let me.

I put that abnormalities in his hands and feet, his agility and flexibility, and teleportation. Id think one would simply assume that he could climb quite well and be naturally sneaky :) but I'm in no rush and if the other hmguy do.t make a cs I'll edit

Christian Name:
James Starling
True Name: (the reflection of your blessing)
Warpath
From:
Guizhou, China
Powers: (For each power you have, there must be some sort of mark or disfigurement, the greater the power the greater the mark, No more than 3 powers.)
James is in post-peak human level condition. He can lift many tons, he can go at full exertion for several hours, he can dodge, react, and move at prime condition. James also can shrug off blunt and some bladed attacks, and fists do nothing to him. Also his senses are like a wild animal so he can smell and hear like a blood hound, and see like a hawk even in the dark.
Pros: (Character's strength, either or skill or power based)
James received good schooling in the first ten years but left to become a hunter and mercenary. He was an expert tracker even before his superhuman senses developed. He was trained in combat, both armed and unarmed. He also knows many languages as he has travelled through many countries.
Cons:(Same as pros but the opposite, anything that can prove to be a hindrance to them in missions and every day life)
The main drawback of James is his appearance. He has a primal look, resembling a caveman more than a modern man. He is taller than most people, with giant muscles and, most disturbing, has black rings around his eyes which are a pure red. Also he has great anger and dislikes religion as it is what prompted his brother's murderer.
Virtue:
Courage
Vice:
Faithlessness
Favoured weapon:
A pair of good hunting knives.
Favoured profession/Labour:
Hunter or Mercenary
Brief bio: (1 paragraph)
Born as twins to English merchant Jacob Starling and a young Chinese woman, James and his older brother John left China at a young age after their mother's death from post-pregnancy problems. Jacob enrolled the two in schooling in England where they did well until Jacob's career started to have problems and the flow of money stopped. John left the school and became a mercenary to pay for the rest of James's schooling. Their father mysteriously died so James decided to find his brother. Along the way he started to learn hunting and trapping, finding that he excelled at it. After finding his brother the two joined a mercenary company, and James learned of John's gift. Initially jealous of his brother, James started to be okay with it until tragedy struck. An order of hunters of people with powers tracked down John and killed him. James barely escaped and soon afterwards his own gift showed itself. Wanting to avenge his brother James realized he couldn't take down the hunters on his own. So he looked for others like him, eventually finding Cardinal Xavier, and decided to stay with him until he was skilled enough to avenge his brother.
Appearance:
James is mixed Caucasian and Asian. He has long black hair and a beard that goes down to his chest. He is almost seven feet tall and very well built with huge muscles. He somewhat looks simian feature wise with very long arm compared to his legs. Strikingly he has black rings around his eyes which are pure red. He wears a black shirt and pants adorned with the pelt of a red fox and a red headband.

Christian Name:
Caleb Walker

True Name:
Smoke

From:
Germany

Powers:
He is capable of teleportation, only within line-of-sight.
He also has a prehensile tail, though that may be considered a disfigurement.

Pros:
He is skilled in swordfighting, as well as acrobatics.

Cons:
He receives major amounts of grief for his discolored skin. He can rarely go anywhere without suffering verbal and physical abuse. If he gets too emotional, his teleportation gets glitchy, often sending him random places.

Virtue:

Vice:

Favored weapon:
He prefers to fight with his dual rapiers, as he has trained with them for years.

Favored profession:
As few would dare to work with an abomination such as him, he has been reduced to using his skills to steal a living from those unfortunate enough to be his target.

Brief bio:

Sorry, it's still a WIP. I've been busy with other things, and something has come up. I just thought that I would leave it as a placeholder really quickly.
