When Vevila arrived at the trading post, she smelled the familiar scent of new leather and varying potions, freshly brewed. She dismounted her horse, tying it to a nearby post. Walking inside, she shouted, "Delivery from Merriwether an' Comp'ny!" "Aye Aye, let me help ye unload." said a familiar voice. "Well if it isn't old Sam. How goes it here in Rivendell?" The older hobbit twisted his mustache and smiled, his eyes creasing with crow's feet. The mustache always looked out of place under his smooth cheeks. "Oh fine, fine. Business has been booming ever since I came out here for business. "He chuckled dryly. "How's old Frodo?" He got a serious, worried gleam in his eye as he continued to twirl his mustache. "E-em..." Vevila stuttered, "He's well...what seems to be th' matter? 'ave I got somethin' on my face?" The old hobbit grabbed a box of merchandise and smiled weakly.
"I received...mmf!...A message the other day...Oh the god's have been mean to my poor body..." He sat the box down and sat on it, panting. He took a handkerchief out of his pocket and wiped the sweat from his brow. "Phew! The message was from a dear friend o' mine...He says a great evil is approachin'." Vevila froze, unable to digest this information. "Evil?! What kinda evil?!" "Shhh shh, child, not so loud. This is precious information." Vevila didn't know what to think. Sam gestured for Vevila to walk closer to him. He put his hand on her shoulders and leaned in, close to her ear. "The kind that could end Middle Earth. The kind that only those descendin' from the Fellowship of the Ring could stop." Vevila looked into the eyes of the old hobbit. "ME?!" "SHHH!" She whispered. "Me...?!"
"Yes, you. You must find the others; Legolas' two daughters would be valuable allies for you... their names are Silica and--" "Kalina" Vevila said in awe. "Yes...have you met her? Is she here?" Vevila looked lost. "Yes, but, I dunno where..."
"You'll find her child. Oh, there's also a man named Aiwindell who would be valuable to you. His father was Gandalf. Then there's Aragorn's daughter, Lyra, and..." He stopped, and took out a notepad and wrote all the names down. "There you are. Start by finding Kalina. I'll take care of the merchandise." Vevila hugged Sam. "Oh, thank you Uncle Sam. I'll do my best." She received a wink from the old hobbit. "Good luck to ye."
Vevila left Sam to the merchandise, and began her search for Kalina.
