Hey everyone, it's been a little while since I actually roleplayed, but I'm really looking to get motivated and get writing again, so bear with me I have a pitch for you.


On the old guild, a while ago, I was pitched this idea and I fell in love. But it never got off the ground. The character I created for it was so close to my heart that I've always wanted to revisit the idea and see if anyone else would join me.

The concept takes place in a Arthurian style fantasy setting. (So Middle age style knights, dragons, fair maidens, wizards etc.) None of the characters created or played will be heroes. And none of them will be at all perfect. The plot follows that someone has decided to entire the evil business and sends out a flier for henchmen or other villains to join his cause. All the characters in the RP will be those individuals who respond to the flier. My character from the previous version was an alcoholic magician who could only perform extremely minor spells. And I hope that explains what I'm getting at.

The point of the RP is to create a character that plays with fantasy stereotypes in a fun way. None of the characters are supposed to be powerful or good at what they are setting out to do. They're supposed to be a ragtag band of wannabe villains.

I put Comedy in the title because that's the end goal. To write a hilarious story about our characters on their adventure. The old RP was put in Advance and needed a comedic writing sample before you could join. I'm not going to enforce that. I just want your hearts in the story and motivation to keep it afloat. The "comedy" would be more low key and less farcical. Comedy as in the story is light hearted I suppose.

Sorry for rambling, I know this isn't the best pitch in the world and I know some of you will click away, but please if you're even a little interested ask a question or leave a comment. If I need to flesh anything out I will, or if I need to go back to the drawing board to re-approach from a new angle I will.

Meet Camilla. Former scourge of the West. She managed to discover a secret to prevent her body from aging into a decrepit state. She led an army of skeletons, ghouls and necromantic horrors. Unfortunately for her, but fortunately for the countryside, a daring hero put a strange green substance into her brew of immortality. After Camilla drank for the cauldron, she was physically superior than before. She noticed, however, that her memory began to fail. She began to act senile, and her empire was defeated easily without her leadership or control over minions. Her legend became nothing but a comical fairy tale, and as the years passed she began to be seen as a harmless, but maybe occasionally annoying pest, rather than a lethal horror she used to be.

She doesn't remember the vast majority of her extremely potent spells. She still knows how to make effective potions, and a few spells useful immediate use. Bandits once attacked her houseand attempted to kill her. She briefly remembered some of the spells she used to wield and scared the bandit horde to death, almost literally. She had one of them at her mercy with a dagger to his throat. She suddenly remembered she was making dinner and turned her back on him. As the criminal was about to stab her in the back, she turned around with a tray of cookies and bumped hard into him as she tried to offer him one.

He fell back and bashed his head hard on the master work furniture, knocking him senseless. When he came to, he had bad amnesia, and his wits were much less sharp than before. She has been taking care of Tom ever since the incident and he has been some sort of a dim witted body guard and house servant ever since.

I really like this character. However I think the one kink that needs working out is how she remembers "some of her old spells" basically when she needs to. It would be better to have some sort of "rule" or control on that instead of "Oh yeah I remember a spell for that." and suddenly doing it. Because then she's basically a regular witch.

I would suggest it be something like she's cooking up some cake when suddenly she remembers everything! And then forgets it. I mean, like, maybe she would possibly remember one while on a little mission, but it would be REALLY DAMN CONVENIANT to remember it while on the brink of death.

She's not really like that. It was a one time plot based event.

But yeah, there may be triggers. Head trauma might be able to trigger it, As long as there's some sort of rule of funny she might remember a slightly stronger spell she usually has access too.

In the end it will be mostly up to you and I'm sure you'll keep it within the correct bounds. If it becomes a problem I'll bring it up again, but I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I can make an official OOC tomorrow with a character sheet skeleton and start making this more final, we just need a few more people interested.

So, after talking with Jster a bit due to questions, also hi Raiser, I present to you Sir Blestemat of the Order of the Rattling Lungs:

He is an evil knight, embodying his own twisted sense of honor. He does not use any normal weapon, rather, he uses two tower shields in combat. He is not unskilled at this, and he makes for a damn fine cook, but he isn't exactly feeling young. Despite only being about twenty-one, he was born with rheumatoid arthritis and is stricken with chronic coughing fits that worsen in frequency as he increases his activity levels. He also happens to walk the line of being a nice, good guy frequently as he legitimately cares for the lives and well-being of friends. Strangers, though, he will kill if he deems them to be only worth a corpse. Hmmm, if this guys cooks, I wonder if he can make me some cookies. The narrator deserves some cookies.

What made Blestemat become evil?: Well, he may give a different story each time, but here is the truth. No knight order would accept him and he was almost constantly beset by bandits thinking him an easy target. Eventually, he just said screw it and took the mantle of evil since he grew tired of those that rejected him. He will be a real knight and will delight in walking on their corpses, right after he gets a drink and stretches out.

Why only shields?: Well, considering he is ridiculously strong and was almost constantly got attacked for coughing loudly and seeming weak, Blestemat quickly learned how to use items to shield himself and eventually just kept two at a time to keep a better defense. He had no money for any other weapon when he created his own knight order, so shields became his signature weapons. Heh, you thought he was some protect the weak kind of guy? Nah, just a poor bastard with a dream.

His Code:
1. Kill as often as necessary, but never kill without reason
2. Assist your infirm friends so they will not suffer as you do
3. Always cook properly, no lollygaggin' during it
4. Maintain equipment, but never polish it to shine
5. Never use any non-shield weapon

Interested in playing a blind swordsmen with impossible luck.

Or, a man who was once the greatest swordsman in the world, but due to an unfortunate accident, has lost both hands.
