“See anything?” Sidonis's voice asked over the communicator.

“Not seeing any movement...” The turian responded. “Going to go in for a closer look. I'll call you if things get messy.”

“Got it.” Sidonis said. “Over and out.”

Garrus put away a scanner and got up from his hidden position. He pulled out his M-92 Mantis sniper rifle and carefully approached an old crumbling warehouse. It's been only a month since Garrus came to Omega Station and the crime rate has plummeted. The gangsters, drug lords, slavers, and other criminal types that run free on Omega have had an epidemic of 'shot in the face' happen since Garrus and his team started getting tough on crime. He's had countless people tell him he was some sort of 'archangel' for helping the ones who can't help themselves. Some much so, Garrus is beginning to like the nickname.

The turian climbed up a rusty ladder that lead to the roof of the warehouse. It was a decent sized building which made him consider this all a trap. A week ago, Garrus and his team got a tip that this building was the base of operations for an Asari slave trafficking ring, which prepped kidnapped Asari before being smuggled off to various worlds. But the more Garrus saw the more he knew something was up. He jumped down through an open hatch, landing on his feet with a crash. His armor allowed for safe drops from quite a distance. The warehouse was dark, he quickly switched on his weapon's light revealing many large metal crates. This place seemed deserted. Garrus gave a heavy sigh thinking his time has just been wasted.

“YOU DIE NOW!” Came the shrill cry of a vorcha.

Floodlights practically blinded Garrus as he instinctively dropped and narrowly missed getting filled with holes. Gunfire seemed to come from every direction. The only thing saving him was the many crates still sitting throughout the warehouse.

Strange, Garrus thought, There always seems to be conveniently laid cover every time I get into a firefight...

The gunfire was so intense he couldn't lift his head to even see where it was all coming from. Then as sudden as it happened it all stopped. The echo of the shots still rang loudly off the walls.

“Come on out Archangel!” Called the deep gruff voice of a bloodpack krogan. “If you just stand up, it'll be over quickly!”

Garrus could hear footsteps closing in on all sides of him. His sniper rife was laying just to the side of the crate he was hiding behind. Just raising his hand to reach for the gun caused more gunfire to rain down on his position.

Sorry Shepard, he thought, Guess this is it for me.

She was watching from the shadows. Her tactical cloak activated. Waiting for the right time to intervene. A slight wince from her when the Vorcha screamed. The Vorcha's voices often made her cringe. Always so angry sounding and like they constantly had to cough up phlegm. She hit the switch for the flood lights. The plan was going down to the letter.

As soon as the Krogan was close enough, she lined him up the scope of her baby girl, Black Widow. Her finger gently caressing the trigger. Wait... not yet, not yet, NOW! She squeezed the trigger quickly. The Krogans head blew up. She has explosive rounds. Krogans were a pain in the ass to kill, so she needed to make sure that he would definitely die upon contact with her first bullet. She smiled as parts of his head rained down around the body. One down

She swapped her sniper out for her heavy pistol. M-77 Paladin. She aimed and fired at all the Vorcha, bodies were dropping all around Archangel. She smiled as the easy part was done. She wasn't sure how well the next part would go down. She had never tried to take someone alive before. She had a deal with the shadow broker, get him alive and her money doubled. She was enjoying the anticipation, anything could happen.

She turned off the flood lights as she strutted her way over, She kept her pistol out just in case he tried anything, he was better dead to her then escaped. Especially as this plan had taken a month to set up and execute. She was not letting him get away.

"You can come out now, Archangel" her tone was almost seductive. "But if you so much as twitch funny, I will put a bullet between your eyes." She added. She pointed her pistol where she knew he was currently hiding.

The Kogan laughed, "Guess, were gonna have to smoke you out. Somebody lob a gren-"

The Kogan's head exploded before he could finish his sentence. The force was so powerful it knoked down several vorcha standing next to him. A big chunk landed right by garrus with a nasty splat. A vorcha let out a fierce cry of anger before it's head was reduced to red goo. It lasted less than a minute and soon everything was quiet.

"You can come out now, Archangel" a distinctly female voice said rather softly.

Garrus wasn't completely sure where this woman was so he didn't want to try and reach for his rifle, which lay in the open. Garrus pressed against the side of a crate and leand out hoping to see who this woman was. Walking slowly with a heavy pistol was a dark haired human female. Her outfit looked custom made for stealth operations, but there weren't any logos that told him who she worked for. Whoever she was, she was different from the other mercs he's seen.

Clearly beaten, Garrus slowly stood up. "If you don't mind, I'd like to know the name of the very gifted human that just caught Archangel."

She watched him carefully as he stood up, watching for any wrong moves or indications he was going to try and fight back. Once she was satisfied he wasn't going to do anything she made her way over to him and picked up his rifle "M-92 Mantis... I have seen worse" she said as she kept onto it. It would be a nice trophy for her. "My name is unimportant. All you need to know is that you do as you are told or up fall where you stand. I have someone willing to pay a high price for your head and an even higher one if that head is attached to a moving body" She flashed him a flirtatious smirk.

She put her Paladin away but kept hold of his Mantis, if he tried anything now, he would be shot with his own gun. She activated her omni-tool and a drop shuttle appeared just outside the building. She looked at Vakarian "Are you going to go nicely or will I have to force you to get into the shuttle to my ship?" She asked curiously. The more she looked at him the more she kinda didn't want to shoot him. He was quite handsome. She shook her head this is why I shoot first and just don't ever ask questions.

She put the unpleasant thoughts to the back of her mind. Her main focus was to get him onto her ship. Then he could be locked up and she would be able to take him to the drop off point for the Shadow Broker and it will all be over with. She'd be rich and wouldn't really need to work for a good few years. Though she probably would, doing nothing isn't her style.

It hurt Garrus seeing his precious baby being held by someone else. That rifle had ended a lot of criminal's careers, and he wasn't about to let it go into retirement. Then again he did have to admit that it did look good being held by quite an attractive human female. He spent some time denying it, but now he had some holovids hidden in his omni-tool that featured human turian "relations." A good deal of this blossomed while he fought alongside Commander Shepard. Seeing her fight and inspire others awoke something in Garrus. Maybe it was just a human fetish, maybe something more. It didn't matter now that he heard a report that said Shepard was KIA.

"I...must admit," He said with a deep but soft voice. "The idea getting physical with you wouldn't be too bad on this end."

Garrus tilted his head, "But, I'm not getting on that shuttle. In fact, I think your going to help me." He took a step closer to the mysterious woman.

She slowly raised a brow at his flirty comment then raised both her brows in surprise at his second comment. "You think I am going to give up on a ton of credits? You suffered a blow to the head recently? " She scoffed. "Either you get your bony Turian ass on my shuttle or you are not going to enjoy what happens to people who disobey my orders." She frowned as she held her gun up to his face as she said this. Though she must admit, she did kinda enjoy his little comments and she knew the more he spoke the less likely she was to actually kill him. She needed him to be quiet and get on the shuttle. She hated speaking with hits, made them more like ... people. She found it harder to kill them if she knew them on a personal level. "Move it Turian." She ordered with a stern tone narrowing her eyes, just waiting for him to open his trap again, she was curious to see how far he would take this.

Garrus has made some crazy gambles in the past, but this was by far the craziest. A hired killer had a gun in his face and he was being opening defiant. It was strange, back in C-Sec there were plenty of times when he was afraid for his life. But staring down the barrel of a gun now didn't even phase him now. He wasn't married, didn't have kids, and he made sure not to leave any evidence that traced his good deeds back to the people he's helped. What did he have to lose (aside for a brief moment of pain.)

"You think about turian ass a lot?" He chuckled "You're going to make me blush."

Garrus decided to push his luck to the limit, he took another step forward. He clearly could see her finger on the trigger.

"Look around you, this place has been chewing people up and breaking their spirits. Ever since I got to Omega I've witnessed things that shocked and made me sick. I've seen parents forced to sell their children so the thugs that walked that neighborhood wouldn't just kill them. I saw a woman get robbed and shot on a crowded street, with no one batting an eye. There's a bridge that has become famous because that's where people who've lost all hope go to end it all. And that line to it stretches around the corner."

"I'm the only one standing up to all of that." He sighed, "I'm here to make a difference and help those who've had everything taken from them, and punish those who thought themselves untouchable. You're working for the wrong people. Why don't you put your skills to some good use and point that gun at the scumbags that really deserve it.

Garrus took another step closer. Now her gun was practically pressed against his forehead. "There's more to you than just a bunch of credits. I can see there's still some good in you. At least...I'd like to think so."

She frowned even more so now. Is there more to me than credits? she thought to herself curiously, that's all she has ever had to think about. She didnt like the sound of not getting paid for her skills, and if she didn't take 'Archangel' dead or alive the Shadow Broker would be pissed, she signed a contract. So if she didnt do this job, she would be hunted as well as Garrus. Did she want to help random people she didn't really care about? "Why should I help these people? They mean nothing to me, the only thing I need is credits" She asked yet stated at the same time.

She lowered what was his gun from his forehead however and put it by her side. She was thinking, weighing up all the pros and cons. Mainly coming up with cons not to do it. No money, having to work with people, have to help people she didn't care about and no money... but on the other hand she got to work with others, help people, possibly change lives. Things she originally left the Alliance for because she felt like she wasn't doing enough and that there were too many regulations against her ..more drastic measures.

She looked up at him once she had decided on what she would do. "I hope I don't regret this.." she trailed off "Alright, I'll help you, though the Shadow Broker wont like this"She said softly as she handed Garrus his rifle back. "You'll be needing this then I suppose." She said with a small smile, she looked a lot different when she smiled. More attractive that was for sure, as well as more approachable "I guess, you need to know my name... it's Kita" She said softly. Her voice was naturally soft, she sounded like she wouldn't hurt a fly.

Garrus felt whole again having his rifle back in his hands. The turian gave what amounted to a smile among his race, but figured it just looked creepy to a human.

"I don't know who has the bigger quads between us..." he laughed, "The guy who talks down his assassin, or the girl that double crosses the Shadow Broker."

He held out his hand, "Pleasure to have you on board Kita."
