SourceName: Iwai Maki
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Personality: The first thing anyone notices about Maki is how jumpy she is. It takes only a sudden loud noise, or jumping out from behind a corner, or anything as mild as that, to leave her jittery for the rest of the day and clutching her bag to her chest. She doesn't cry easily, in all fairness, nor does she hold grudges against those who test her limits. In fact, aside from her jumpiness, it's hard to say much about her. She intentionally tries to avoid being the center of attention and keeps her head down. If she does talk, it's mostly because the teacher called on her to answer a question. She's clearly smart - her grades are good and she's never been unable to answer a question or repeat what the teacher said if asked - but she keeps to herself.
Unfortunately, as the stereotype seems to go, she's also troubled by difficulties in social interaction. She can't seem to keep a conversation going or even start one up. As a general rule, Maki seems to keep herself isolated, and it would be considered very strange if she approached anyone of her own volition. She does want friends, and would fight to the death to defend them, but it just cannot be.
Bio: Not unlike many students, Maki started up in the higher tiers of the society. It was said she had spent many nights at galas, once petted a tamed lion, and even had an A-level battle chip to play with at age 5. Of course, these are all likely exaggerated rumors reflecting what people think the elite life is like, but it can be confirmed the Iwai family used to be among their numbers, and Maki certainly had no objections to the system.
It can also be confirmed that, by the time Maki was to enter the local academy, the Iwais were down to the dredges of society, barely an infraction away from being deemed threats to society and arrested one and all. Her parents were miserable, of course. After all, what's it like to know the satisfaction of riches only to have them wretched away overnight and threatened with exile or worse? It's unknown what happened to her father, though an accepted explanation was that he left in the middle of the night to go court a younger, richer woman. Maki's mother ended up securing work as a seamstress. And Maki? Well, riches or not, she had to attend the academy and hopefully pull her mother back up into their former elite lifestyle.
Maki has no interest beyond avoiding her former neighbors though so what can you do. Really, the only evidence that the story is true is that she has a Battle Deck despite not doing anything noteworthy during her education.
Grade: Second-year
Battle Chip: F-level - enhancement of the ability to heal. A wound may stop bleeding more quickly, or a fractured bone may heal faster, but the chip cannot block infection or pain.
Anything Else: She's fond of chocolate pie.
