Personality:Kroda is known at court as "the charming rogue" of his house. The third son of a powerful Laird, he has ever been given culture and luxury without the need to show much responsibility.
He is brash and idealistic with wit and defiance pouring from his least gesture. And if he were due to inherit the power that will one day belong to his elder siblings, his nature would have brought him "strange death" or an important "quest" to go on (for the good of the kingdom, of course).
But since he's due to inherit no real power, his eccentricities (and they are many) are tolerated. He tends to disdain authority, paying lipservice when he truly must. And his heresy, the Koldunic stormworship of the northeastern voivodeships, is overlooked due to his family's longstanding history with the Voivodes of the Kolduns.
However, when not playing the fool among other nobles or tending to the lands and towns ignored as unimportant by his elder brothers, Kroda pursues meditation in nature, and correspondence with scholars of all stripes.
History:Kroda and his elder siblings spent much of their youth traveling among the voivodeships in the mountains to the northeast of Krolori. The experiences there invigorated and strengthed each of them in unique way. In Kroda, they strengthened his willfulness and curiosity above all else. And each time they went back home he became more of a terror to his family and his tutors.
In his eleventh year, his endless goading and questioning threatened to drive them all to madness. Even the most educated priests and pragmatic scholars could not satisfy him. That very year he was sent to seek his answers among the priests of the Kolduns in one of their temples where they revere the various aspects of the storm, from the fertility brought by rain to warlike charges of lightening and thunder, and the sagelike calm at the centre of a windstorm.
After five years he returned, having gained much maturity. He was still a spirited little devil, only now he had gained some small measure of contentment with his place in the world. He also brought back a desire to impress the Ladies of great beauty. Unfortunately he had also found a particular gift for offending their Fathers and Brothers.
Since then he has occupied himself by acting as the Janirarl keeper of all the Borken lands, towns, farms and territories near the family seat which his father and brothers view as unimportant enough to be beneath their notice. He maintains regular correspondences with many Lairds, Ladies, scholars, and priests, both Krolorian and Kolunic. He has also earned himself a reputation as the Mad Laird who only hunts in bad weather due to his observance of an old Koldunic custom called stormrunning.

Family:House Borken, whose coat of arms is recognised by two sanguine, rampant wolves against a sable field, are known for courting trade relations with the mountain voivodeships to the northeast, whose people are known as Kolduns, since the earliest days of Krolori. It is said that the Northern Krolori's treaties and trade agreements with the Voivodes of the Kolduns' mountain lands were won, in a large part, thanks to House Borken. It is also common knowledge that nobles from House Borken have intermarried with many of the Koldunic high noble families from the mountain lands. And it is largely this aspect of the Borken family which other Janirarl families base their opinions of them on. They are, however, a large family with holdings across the Northern Kingdom, and otherwise known for their loyalty to the Crown and proficiency on the battlefield. The cities, farms and villages within their lands are known to be practical and efficient, while often somewhat dark and grim in appearance.
His father, Laird Octavio Borken, is in excellent standing at the northern court.
His mother, Lady Yennefer Borken, is held in high esteem and ever at her husband's side.
His eldest brother, Laird Leto Borken, is strong, wise and honorable.
The second eldest brother, Laird Duvat Borken, is a towering sadistic militant, who could probably raid a medium sized village on his own.
His elder sister, Lady Daia Borken, has gone off and joined the priesthood.
His younger sister, Lady Lythie Borken, is studying diplomacy with the aim of increasing amicable relations with the south.
And his youngest sister, Lady Krinitsa Borken, is still a child.
Desired Occupation: Although he would rather be a bard, or an artist, or a scholar, his sense of duty compels him to not abandon his station nor bring dishonor upon his family. He has often hoped to become one of his families ambassadors in the northeast, but for now that seems unlikely. Indeed, much to his own shock, he has recently heard a rumor that the Northern Court of Krolori were considering him (as well as a few other potentially troublesome nobles) as an ambassador to the Southern Court of Krolori. Quite a dangerous prospect in these uncertain times.
