•Name: Nakahara Kaede
•Age: 17
•Appearance: "Um...I-I'm fine..."
•Personality: Kaede tends to be rather shy around people she doesn't know. However, once she feels comfortable around someone, she livens up considerably, becoming friendly, though still not the most talkative person on the planet. To call her a bit of an otaku would be a massive understatement, as she is prone to prioritising video games over...basically everything else at times and has gone days without food in the past in order to afford a new anime DVD or manga volume. As a result, she has a tendency to forget rather important things, such as eating. At times, she may refer to real things using video game terminology, seeing nothing strange about calling a particularly dangerous enemy "a boss battle" or referring to herself as "an overspecialised character that gets dropped from the party as soon as someone with better DPS arrives". Kaede also happens to be a pervert, to the extent that her male coworkers are likely to end up in at least one of her "stories". When given the chance to talk about either of these things, she becomes really excited. She tends to get along better with children than adults, due to many of her interests being intended for younger audiences.
•Abilities: Kaede has an affinity for light. This allows her to cast spells involving bending light to create illusions, or focusing it into a destructive beam. It also allows her to use spells related to "clarity", letting her see through illusions and other mind affecting abilities. Although she needs to be aware of the presence of such an effect before she can do anything about it.
•Weapons/Equipment: Nothing particularly helpful. She generally carries a large amount of manga and several gaming devices (and associated chargers/games/etc) around, giving her schoolbag enough weight to be used as a bludgeoning weapon if necessary.
•Brief Backstory: Kaede's family aren't known for being particularly powerful mages, however, this isn't to say they're weak, just...average. Her parents have trained her in the use of light magic since she was six years old. After short stints working part time after school in a game store (where she spent more time playing games than actually serving customers) and a maid cafe (where one too many customers complained about her spilling coffee on them), Kaede came to the Fu Sonzai no Gensō detective agency, hoping this job would work out better than the others.

Name: Giovanni "Gio" Giorno

Age: 19

Appearance: At 6'2'' and 213 lbs, most people are smart enough not to criticize his fashion sense.

Personality: Gio's mentor (and mother) Maria Giorno described him best: "A genius at cheating, who should not be released into human society under any circumstances." Gio is a far cry from his long and noble ancestry. Mouthy, arrogant, undisciplined and short-tempered, it takes the slightest provocation to get him to pick a fight with somebody. This problem is only compounded by his ruthless effectiveness in combat. His razor-sharp observational skills combined with his natural tactical talent give him an almost supernatural intuition. In addition, "playing fair" is something that Gio firmly believes is for suckers. If it means winning a battle, he will use every cheap trick at his disposal, and then some, using every possible means at his disposal to achieve victory. This resourcefulness makes him almost completely unpredictable to compete against, as one can never know what crazy scheme he has up his sleeve.

Abilities: An inheritor of the Life affinity, Gio mostly uses it though his family's signature technique, the "Overdrive." The basic idea of this technique is transmuting mana into life energy, which is then infused into another being, with varying degrees of control and power. This can have a wide array of effects on beings alive, dead or undead. Short, controlled bursts can repair damaged tissue or revitalize mostly dead cells. Greater bursts can "overload" the systems of living creatures and effectively paralyze them by de-synchronizing their minds and bodies. Extremely precise releases of energy can trigger the bio-magnetism or bio-electricity of most living things, and allow such feats as hypnosis, walking on water, or the climbing of sheer surfaces. The Overdrive is extremely lethal to undead creatures such as vampires or zombies, as it dissolves their necrotic flesh in much the same way as sunlight. The energy of the Overdrive courses through Gio at all times, giving him uncanny strength and resilience. While the Overdrive can be sent through inorganic material such as metal or stone, it only has any sort of noticeable effect on organic materials (which are also far more conductive to the Overdrive), so these substances are used as mediums for ranged attacks at best.

Weapons/Equipment: Gio usually carries bottles of Overdrive-conductive oil, several different fireworks, steel crackers, a Swiss army knife, and a pair of goggles. He also drives a motorcycle on occasion.

Brief Backstory: Born as the heir of a prestigious lineage of Italian vampire-hunting Magi, Gio spent most of his youth in Rome, flipping skirts, getting into fights, and generally causing trouble. He blew off his practice of the magical arts, as he possessed a natural talent for it, and was capable of using an unrefined Overdrive from a young age. His younger days were spent unconcerned with the struggle against the ancient vampire clans that threatened many societies. However, this changed with an organized attack on his family's compound by a small army of vampires and their servants. The were eventually repelled, but at the cost of the lives of most of his family. Gio decided to take from this that he must learn the true nature of his family's magic, so that he can continue their traditions, at the very least. After a few years of training with his mother, he was deemed to have a sufficient grasp of the Overdrive, he set out on a reconnaissance of the supernatural world, which led him to his association with the Fu Sonzai no Gensō detective agency.

On a side note, Vita, for the first post, in order for the links to character sheets to work, you need to include the page number as well.

Okay, um... neither the magic system nor vampires work like that. If you want to do something at all related to vampires you need to stick to how they work. The magic system is described in its basics as well.

This I will take the time to better explain.

The Overdrive isn't a single spell, but numerous different spells that operate on the same basic principle. Each technique and effect is its own spell, they are all just closely related in their metaphysical mechanics.

The vampire killing relies on the "associations" of the Life affinity. Vampires are undead, which is the polar opposite of Life. The spell essentially works like 1 + -1 = 0 and destroys the undead by metaphysically neutralizing them. "Revive kills zombies," in other words.

The important thing about vampires in this setting is that... they're not zombies. The "revive kills zombies" logic doesn't work on them. Mostly because, strictly-speaking, the way vampires function in my setting makes it impossible for them to be dead.

I didn't think it would be important, but, um... here's a bit of a rundown.

Vampires in my setting are temporarily killed when their bodies are drained of blood when they're turned. However, they are revived, fully alive, when they become vampires. Their regeneration even relies on the fact that their heart is beating, which is why destroying their heart kills them. It renders it impossible for them to regenerate. Also, you mention it in you bio... sunlight doesn't kill them. They're weakened and they pass out.

Also... I will be honest and say he kind of looks like a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure OC as opposed to something more fitting for this setting.

I have talked over something with the GM, and because Hanako's going to have to sit out any fights that are known about in advance... well, this girl is here to pick up the slack:

Name: Aikawa Yumiko

Age: 19

Appearance: She is actually prettier than the picture indicates.

Personality: Warm and friendly, Yumiko doesn't often speak unless spoken to--but this doesn't mean she has high tolerance for rudeness or over-familiarity. Such things act rather like flipping a switch; the brunette can be incredibly cold if annoyed. She prefers doing to thinking, and gets antsy pretty quickly if she's got nothing to keep her hands occupied.
She's pretty good at keeping her emotions hidden when it's practical--even if this means quashing her desire to help those in need.

Abilities: With an affinity of 'flowers', Yumiko's direct magic tends to look fairly silly. This is because... well, it's basically pulling flowers out of a basket and throwing them at people or the ground. The magic only comes about because she's grown it into them in the first place--though she has a sizeable enough garden, and her affinity massively helps, so she's not in danger of running out unless she's truly wasteful. The effects are fairly easy to see coming, but can get decidedly nasty if not dealt with immediately. Like a rose bush sprouting that sprays thorns as directed, or an enormous flytrap.
The more metaphorical ramifications of flowers, however, have exactly one relevance to Yumiko: all the links to beauty have made her stunningly beautiful... and she wishes that she could turn it off. Unfortunately, she's grown into it rather than its being a magical overlay, so there isn't too much that can be done. She hates the attention.

Weapons/Equipment: Her flowers. There's rather a lot, but she's cautious in using them--and if anyone else throws them, they'll wither due to the lack of the latent magic's activation. Some can activate directly, but others need to grow first.

Brief Backstory: Yumiko hails from a young and relatively new mage family--and so, she had absolutely no knowledge of Toshiko upon meeting the older female whilst she was finishing her education in London. They kept in contact whilst Yumiko was learning and once she returned home met up in person again. They're friends, and though Yumiko isn't an employee, she often helps out.
Her family might be new to magic, but they're influential in business. Hence how she has the time to help out Toshiko for free.
