Wolf tensed at mention of his birth, it wasn't the birth that bugged him it was the mother who birthed him. "I don't know," He replied and stood awkwardly looking for a way out of explaining, he couldn't think of any, When Breena asked him to wash his hands he ended up spending at least four minutes scrubbing off the dirt, his mother had kicked him out a few days ago and he hadn't had thought much about hygiene. He was sure to go back to his mother eventually but for now he would lie low and bed bunk with whoever would take him.
"Sure, Im a pretty good cool" He replied when Breena offered to let him help. He stood in step next to her and waited for instructions on what to do

"Cooking is not the same as baking." she stated calmly.

She noticed his unease with talking about his name, so Breena didnt press it. When he came to stand next to her after spending eternity washing his hands. She noted he was actually really dirty, and wondered if he did need some flowery soap.

"Okay so, you take this bowl. Add this white flour, almond flour, salt, baking soda, and the zest, or peel of this whole lemon." she showed him each one as she said them, giving him a fork to mix them, and showing him the teaspoon to use to measure. "One cup of both flours, and a teaspoon of everything else. After that, add a little of this dried lavender." she showed him the jar of the light purple flower petals.

Once he got started she went to mixing the wet ingredients. The sugar, egg, some melted butter she left out on accident before closing up, a bit of milk, almond extract and then the juice of the lemon he zested. She had to show him how to use the zester. The tool that looked alot like a cheese grater, but smaller.

While she mixed it it she wondered if Wolf had a place to live.

Dont even think about inviting him to stay Breena. Are you that lonely? she said to herself in her head. Her house ib the woods not too far from here was too...magical. That was where she let go, her powers constantly at work when in the safety of those walls. Sighing, she knew she could resist asking all she wanted, but she was created to serve and help those in need, so in the end, she asked him.

"Do you have a place to stay?"

Wolf busied himself with the instructions and lost himself in his thought's.He had taken off his glasses and check his eyes in some reflective metal. Slowly but surely he zoned out while mechanically baking.
Wolf shivered in the cold winter air.
"Missus, may I please have so-"
A hand whipped round his face as an irritated stranger cut his sentence short.
"Scum of the earth." The woman whispered as tears poured out the young Wolf's face. His hunched body was noted by a cruel bystander who calmly walked up to him and put on his best caring face.
"Are you okay little boy" He crunched down and whispered in the boy's ear, when he didn't reply he cont4inued to talk "Alright, Im Marcus, come with me I can get you a job that will make you rich, imagine all the food."
At the mention of food Wolf glanced up and hugged Marcus's arm happily before following him too hell.

He made cookies for the first time that day and he had considered it his best memory.
He only snapped out of it just in time to here Breena ask him a dreaded question.
"Do you have a place to stay?"
Wolf bit his lip and looked too the floor, Marcus probably wouldn't let him stay after the incident earlier...
"I..."
He shook his head and stared at a speck of flour on the counter...

Breena stayed quiet for a moment. She thought about everything she would have to tone down at home and she smiled, taking his bowl and adding it to hers. "Well, I suppose if you are in need of somewhere safe to stay, i have a vacant room in my home you may use." she said with a smile, glancing at the clock on the wall. She quickly, expertly rolled out the cookie dough, having cut out the circles and lined them on a tray in a matter of moments.

Exactly on que, the oven beeped, signaling it had heated up and she placed the tray inside. Busying herself with cleaning up, she said nothing.

Wolf shivered inwardly, the last time he had relied on someone turn out well and the strange likeness of the situations were uncanny. He stayed silent and watched Breena clean, quickly he joined in and thought over what to say. He wasn't the naïve young child he had been then, this lady wasn't false either, she gave off a nice aura and he was picking up some strange but comforting vibes from her. Surely if anything went wrong he could use his uncanny strength to protect himself...?
He sighed quietly.
"I... don't want to intrude but if I could just stay the night that would be good..." He paused and realised that this lady wouldn't just take him in for free, no one did that. "Of course I can pay you somehow!"

Breena laughed and leaned against the table. It was a soft laugh, not creepy or anything. "You need not pay me anything, child. A different form of payment will arise soon enough." she said, forgetting she was supposed to be 23 and not nearly 400. Shed forgotten she had to speak not like an old lady. Thinking there would be no point in hiding from him while at home, she would simply make him vow to tell no one. An unbreakable vow.

She crossed her arms casually and said then, "So, if i may ask...what caused you to be so angry that you had to make a dent in my shop?"

Wolf shivered at her words thinking of all the odd and disgusting possibilities... He shook it off and raised and eyebrow at the odd way she was speaking.
He listened carefully and replied casually to her question.
"A customer was a little..... how would you put it in casual terms... forceful?" He smiled and hoped his vague answer would not let any odd questions arise. "If there's anything I can do to make it up to you I would be happy too"
A part of him wondered what Breena would do when she found out what his job really was...
He glanced to the oven and wallowed in the attractive scent, hopefully they would be done soon

Breena enjoyed the smell of lemon and lavender as it filled the entire kitchen. "Don't worry about the damage, it can be easily fixed. Though i am happy to have found you before you did anymore." She paused as she saw the cookies were nearly done. "Pardon me. Just a moment." She went back to the main part of the shop, retrieving a small basket and some purple napkins. They would be used to carry the rest of the cookies and keep them warm during the walk to her house. Breena wondered if he would mind that she lived in the woods...

Beep, beep, beep.

Breena came back to the kitchen and removed the tray from the oven with her bare hands. Not noticing she had done something odd again. For some reason she felt so at ease here, her...humanity was starting to slip away.

"Do these not smell greater than anything your nose has ever graced?" she said with a bright smile. Baking was her passion, and being able to bring someone else joy from it in her bakery was like...the best thing ever.

Lucas sat back at his table, watching all the people come and go from the Starbucks, sipping on his drink. He thought back on to his past lives, and even further back as a normal demon, thousands of years ago, before the supernatural beings decided to hide themselves from humans. He didn't miss it, there was so much violence and maiming. It was fun at the time, but as time went on, he grew bored of it and found he no longer liked all the violence. He liked the peacefulness of this time period.

Flynn stood perched on top of a building overlooking the city. Below he saw a man punch the wall of a tall brick building, the whole building shifted a little... "Hmm...strong puppy." He thought to himself, A young lady came out and saw the commotion and took the man inside. Probably nothing, but he had nothing better to do, and the sun was starting to go down, so he thought, might as well check it out. He jump from building to building, clearing each gracefully, and made his way to the top of the bakery. He could smell the various cookings inside.

He pulled the rope that was on his belt out and tied it to a secure pole on top before repelling down to the shop. He leaned down and only peaked his head threw the window...they were...baking cookies. The disappointment almost made him fall to the ground. He climbed back up on top of the building and waited for the sun to set.

Breena felt the curious aura of someone nearby the shop, probably wondering if the bakery was still open. Handing a few cooled cookies to Wolf, she packed the rest in her basket and waved for him to follow. "I think there is someone here who might like a cookie, and we ought to be heading home now. The walk is far and it is getting dark." she said, seeing the darker sky out of the windows that lined one wall. "Come, child." she said.

She went to her retrieve her coat and purse then went out the door, holding it open for her new "friend" and locking it behind her. Immediately she turned and looked at the wall with the dent. Running her fingers over it, she aligned the minerals in the stone, using her powers. At the same time she spoke an incantation that slowed the process, buying about five minutes before it would even appear to be repairing at all. Looking up and down the street, she saw few people, though many were in a Starbucks across the street.

"Where are you, my curious friend? You may come out, i bring cookies." she said happily, knowing the other was still there.

Flynn took a deep breath...sighed...and debated with himself....

"If I go down there, She will know I was spying on her."
"But she seems not to mind"
"But that dark haired kid may."
"He could hurt her, and that would be on you"
"She has cookies."
"I don't particularly like cookies"

The conversation with himself ended with that and then he got an Idea. He stood on the edge of the building, about 30 feet above the two and yelled down, "I don't particularly like cookies." He said, "But I know some people who do....are you...er...Ok?"

Breena moved a bit of her curly blonde bangs out of the way as she looked up at the top of her building to see a person peering down at her. He asked her if she was alright and she put a hand on her hip.

"Of course i'm okay. I can handle myself, child. And...you dont like cookies?" she said tilting her head to the side. "Perhaps it is because you have not tried my cookies. Come. Try one." she said nicely, pointing to the spot on the sidewalk in front of her.

"Who are you calling child...I'm a grown man!" Flynn said, now taking his hood off, revealing his full beard. "I may try one of your cookies, but only if you will share them with my friends first. Follow me" Flynn jumped down from the building, about 8 feet at a time on windows and crevasses in in the brick wall. He looked the young lady in the eyes, "Those words you murmured earlier, I have heard them before." He said, wording carefully as not to reveal that he knew it was a spell. "Come on, I'll introduce you to my friends. Or don't...I wouldn't follow some random stranger I just met either."

Breena raised a brow. It was not like she could tell him that, in relation to her age, he was in fact a child. Beard or not. She was slightly surprised he had heard and recognized the incantation she had spoken a few moments prior. "It is not too uncommon. Many...beings who worship the spirits of the Earth would recognize them." And that was all she said about that. Though she had no problem following the man to his so called friends, she wanted to get home and rest. Handing nim the basket of cookies she said. "For you and your friends. I must be going and could make more at home if i wished." she looked to Wolf who had stayed quiet the whole time. "Also, this is the first time i've had a guest in two..." she cought herself before she said hundred, only the sound of the h was spoken. "Years." she finished. Smiling, she stepped past the man and took a few steps before stopping.

"Oh, i nearly forgot. My name is Breena. Should you ever want to come back and get some cookies for you and your friends, you are very welcome to do so."

"Flynn." He stated his name.

He took the cookies and climbed on top of the building, running out of site. He went to the tent city and dropped the cookies amongst them,

"Share, or I'll shoot you." He said, pointing at his arrows. Of coarse, he would never shoot an innocent, and they knew that it was an empty threat. He almost laughed and said "I have to go, I have some business to take care of, you guys play nice. I may come back after midnight."

He then turned around and went back toward the bakery. It was a whole lot faster to travel via rooftop than on the sidewalk below. He caught back up with the magical girl and the dark haired boy. He was quiet as a mouse and stuck to the shadows so they couldn't see him. He followed them from above...why? Maybe he was just curious, he hadn't heard of someone knowing magic in quite awhile...much of it had become hush hush these days. Or maybe he was just nosey...either way, his curiosity had been struck and when that happens, it is hard to lose him.

The wind blew hard and made good cover for what little noise he made, The shadows were dark on one side of all the buildings this close to the edge of the city...the cover was perfect. If only he could hear what they were saying below.

Wolf stayed silent during the whole encounter smirking a little and the man named Flynn's reaction to being called a child. After he was gone Wolf stuffed a cookie ungracefully into his mouth and addressed Breena
"These.. Ahwer amwahing" Wolf smiled happily feeling more natural and disregarding the odd conversation he had just heard. Breena walked along the pavement and Wolf stayed close to her heel, he wasn't afraid and knew the streets well but he didn't want too loose the fantastic smell of cookies just yet. As he walked his phone began to buzz, at first he ignored it and the sighed unhappily when he realised he better take it.
"Hell-" He began before being cut off by Marcus screaming at him down the phone going on about how he was useless and stupid and better get there right away and apologise.
Wolf held the phone away from his ear cringing at the noise. He flashed and apologetic look at Breena and screamed back down the phone.
"SHUT UP YOU *******" After that the phone went quiet and Wolf heard Marcus take a sharp breath before beginning to speak again. Without a second thought Wolf hung up the phone and threw it to the ground angrily. Anger boiled in his veins and he grabbed another cookie to calm himself. As he ate he realised his eyes were probably glowing like a neon sign and awkwardly placed his glasses back on futilely hoping Breena hadn't noticed...

They had almost reached the edge of the forest when Wolf had paused to take a call. She didnt mind it and she paused, kneeling to tie her boot. Suddenly she felt the curiosity filled aura of Flynn, and she stood back up, crossing her arms. From the corner of her eye she noticed Wolf had a wierd glow in his eyes, and it took everything in her not to make it seem like she saw. Instead she took a few steps to his fallen phone and said a fixing spell before slowly standing and smiling.

"Wow, you have good luck. Not a scratch on here. My iPhone on the other hand, im afraid to use it unless im laying down. I love that i got it in green though." she said, handing him his. "And, it seems our little friend is back." she added before continuing into the forest on a small dirt path.

"You may join us if you wish Flynn. I imagine all your questions will be answered if you do."

They made quick time to her house. Normally it would be an hour or so walk, but they managed to get there in about half that time. As they approached her house, the door was covered in vines. Acting as replacement for a lock, only those with powers of the Earth could get past them. That, and a protection spell surrounding the house like an invisible ball made it impervious to almost anything. Almost. Stepping up to the door, she turned to Wolf.

"So i suppose this is when i get your payment. Tell no one of my secrets, and yours will be safe with me as well. She was hinting at the fact that she'd seen his eyes, and knew he was something other than human. Giving a nice smile, she turned back and waved her hand over the door. A pale light glow illuminated her palm and fingers, and soon after, the entire house made a creaking sound as if waking up from sleep and, coming alive. The vines receded from the door and opened for them.

"Welcome to my paradise."

Wolf tensed at her hints but nodded in agreement. He let out a sound as the vines slipped away and Breena stepped inside. The place was... Well it was hard to describe but he instantly fell in love with the magical aura that surrounded it, it made him feel at home and it was almost like his human mask had slipped off and he had become himself. He forgot completely about Marcus Flynn and even Breena and stood mesmerised in the doorway.
He opened his mouth to speak but felt it would break the atmosphere and instead left his mouth hanging open slightly. His eyes span round the room and basked in the homely magical aura. Finally he found words and spoke.
"Woah..."
He let the word drag out and slowly fade before turning to Breena.
"Wow... This is.... Wow"
