Alyss sniffled and buried her face into Donovan's shoulder, crying until she dozed off. Zahara looked in and watched the pair. "Poor thing," She said softly. "You'd better get her to bed," She said.
Donovan nodded, gently standing so as not to disturb Alyss, carrying her up to their bed. He put her down gently, covering her with the blankets, going back downstairs for a few moments. "the kids?" He asked Zahara
"They're all down for naps. The girls are actually sleeping this time," Zahara said. "Why don't you stay in the guest room for a couple of nights? Sharing a bed might be a little fast for her right now."
"Now? I means things are going to get more dangerous then they need to be, and more secretive as I decide whether or not to accept. I've already set up more patrols"
Zahara nodded. "Melanie's sent word that she's done much the same on her distant borders," Zahara said, picking a toy up and putting it in the living room's toy box.
