The rise of the hunters left the world of darkness in disarray and weakened over a century ago and yet a new dawn is on the rise, one that will present the foundation for the future. The Council of Shadows as long since been and yet through the ages have found themselves hidden further in their masks than ever before, and yet... the church has closed the doors on its league of hunters, assuming all that was once in violation of God's law is now and forevermore extinct, but that is what we'd have them believe.

As time has passed, however, the families who were once the greatest hunters for the church have stayed ever-vigilant for the world. However, there are merely two hunters left now, and it seems they are the only ones who know of the plague which haunts their world. They can't hope to win alone, but perhaps if they had proof, they could gain the following they once had... If only they could attain some kind of evidence.

The year is 1830 and the story begins in Greenwich, England at the winter meeting of the Counsel of Shadows.

Vampire? I had initially planned to create a demon, but that's fine with me.

Name:
Mephistos

Age:
Unknown

Species:
Demon

Gender:
Male

Human Appearance:

Tall, lean, gaunt, with a mean attitude and a deadpan voice, this is a demon that knows that he has class, knows that he has style, and is incredibly bored. His style of speech is unlinear and sometimes confusing as he constantly pronounces words wrong, but he doesn't care, and if you try to point it out to him, you will get on the wrong side of the silver Babylonian coin that he is always carrying. Always neatly dressed, in fashion, but never flashy, a smile is rare, but priceless, as he has an incredible sense of humor.

Beast Appearance:

Personality:
Cold, funny, with a quick and silver tongue and a trick always up his sleeve, he has a fascination for illusion and 'magic'. His price placed on human life is very very low, and he isn't above beating a person to death for not getting his jokes. He is well read, and extremely sharp, his intelligence something of a thing of pride for him. Not much of a fighter, but his age and experience make him much more of a challenge to any fighter in the world, supernatural or no, than his slick appearance would appear.

Brief History:
Before he appeared on earth, he wasn't really known. Even after he did, it wasn't very frequent, with various names for him becoming something of a popular legend in some of the ancient cultures, and after that, he disappeared for a very long time. He reappeared some 200 years ago. Nobody is quite sure from where, or how. His... uniqueness of his kind sent some question marks flying, but none could dispute the fact that he was, indeed, a demon.

Cold and icy, unlike his firey brethren, he takes a much cooler, icier kind of terrifying than the rest of his kind. But, as powerful as he was, and as old as he was, it was only natural that he be elevated to the council, where he remained in second in command to the current leader. But as the Dagon's actions began to spiral out of control, rebelling against the commands of the council and almost sparking an all out war against humanity, Mephistos decided that it had gone too far, attacking the demon and, using trickery and slippery style of fighting, beat him down, forcing him to disappear, wounded, but certainly not dead.

The Council awarded him the position of Dagon for his actions.

Name:
Madeline LaFontaine

Age:
Roughly reaching the 200, still fairly young for a Demon

Species:
Demon

Gender:
Female

Human Appearance:

Always dressing in finest clothes, giving a very splendiferous looks to her. Often showing fine jewelry adorning her neck and ears, which give a glitter to her perfectly pale skin. Her hair color differs by the lights, being pitch black at darker atmospheres, while giving a slight hint of brunette with the right light accents.

Beast Appearance:

Personality:
A woman of very few words. Madeline is a lady of stature. She ignores the simple peasants and always reaches daringly high at the more fortunate noblemen. If people were in her grasps, she becomes a predator preying on it's food.

Brief History:
Originally, Madeline LaFontaine was the name of a French girl in a backalley strip club. Now it belongs to the Demon that had found this woman in the dark streets to satiate it's hunger. Many men and women have followed into the web of a Black Widow that the Demon was, despite her feline features of her alternative appearance. Whilst crawling through the world of a hostile, religious environment, Madeline drew a lot of attention and more often cleaned her history. Tracks of her past disappeared even to herself, up to the point that she lost her Demon self, even her true name.

Only in the early 1800s, Madeline gave her true self another run, shortly after the commotion of the French Revolution. On a murderous rampage across the Bretagne, Madeline gained too much interest from the Church. As a last resort, Madeline attempted to call fellow beasts hunted by the hideous fascists of religion. She received an answer and with it the doors to the prosper and most elegant London, England. Shedding her fur from the harsh times, Madeline began to slither through banquets across England, gaining a very promising seat in the high spots of Demon life.

Name:
Dagon

Age:
Unknown

Species:
Demon

Gender:
Male

Human Appearance:

Even in human form, he is a beast to be feared. Standing a half foot over seven feet tall, it is famed that when he walks the very ground shakes. His weight is agreed to be something around 500 pounds of bristling muscle, iron-hard bone and fury to match any gods of Mythology. Which is why, in many mythologies, he is considered to be a god, not a demon, which he is. His head is shaven bald, and his dress code is somewhat more sloppy than it should be, although few point this out. His eyes are a fierce red.

Beast Appearance:

Personality:
Angry and explosive, with a fiery temper and a knack for cruelty matched by his need for violence, never quenched. The only reason that he was placed on the council was because he was one of the oldest demons alive, and the fact that few dared stand in his way when ambition drove him to take it. Arrogant but intelligent, he knew that it was only a matter of time before the humans got in their way, and he knew that the only way to have the upper hand, and keep it, was to make sure that the humans were always reacting to their movements. Together, the creatures of the dark could hope to win.

Brief History:
It is very possible that he forgot his own background, but the earliest that he cares to remember was when he was king of a small tribe in the middle East called the Philistines. Then was when he first took on his name and title, in the eyes of some, god, as he turned a small tribe in a war machine, taking over most of the land and then leaving when he grew bored. Taking on many names and titles as he moved along, always drawn to war and destruction. Heracles. Achilles. Mars. As the war front moved through the renaissance he acquired a taste for naval warfare, and his nickname then was Davy Jones.

But when a council of the creatures of darkness came together, he saw a possibility that he had never foreseen before. The Demons, powerful as they were, were never in great numbers. But if they all united, taking over the humans would be an easy task, and he began to try and influence them to do it. But Dagon's subtlety resembled that of a club to the head, and the rest of the council members, including his own second in command, Mephistos, found him to be too extreme, too blunt and unused to the new world.

Betrayal was bitter as Mephistos took him on in a bloody fight that left Dagon wounded deeply, but not defeated, as he retreated and hid from the council, silently plotting his revenge.

Name:
Petra von Rustenford

Age:
211 (Turned when she was 24)

Species:
Vampire

Gender:
Female

Human Appearance:

Due to her germanic descent, Petra is taller than the average human. She received the brown, voluminous, straight hair from her mother while receiving ice blue eyes from her father. On most occasions, she’s typically wearing a strict business-professional attire or fashion which are typically seen worn by the general rich and wealthy. Casual attire is typically reserved for when Petra’s in absolute solitude.

Beast Appearance:
Underworld bat-esque appearance.

Personality:
Deceptive and extremely manipulative. She takes pride in her ways of making her thralls squirm as she quenches her parched throat that appeases her insatiable thirst. As violent as she is with her servants, she is equally as adept in keeping a sociable face — particularly in the presence of her elders.

She’s careful with her words as she says what she means and doesn’t say a word more. Often times, she gets annoyed when people can’t perform what is expected of them. To her, applying to all she interacts with, if one cannot complete what task is given to them, they become useless pieces that need to be replaced. In the manner of how they’re disposed depends to each individual.

In another life, from a time that Petra barely remembers, glimpses of her city where she still lived in her parents do come back at moments. They serve as an anchor to her past. The one slim barrier, which keeps her monstrous self at bay and preserves the sparse merciful moments she experiences at times. However, no matter how strong the emotions, nothing can stop the curse she received long ago.

Brief History:
Having immigrated from the Germanic lands of Europe, Petra and her family settled in the colonial Massachusetts bay colony. Like many of the other children, she grew up as a catholic christian, practiced lady-like etiquette of that befitting English women, and involved herself with her father’s merchantry business, which began as a humble trading post but grew to continental dealings.

Strong relations were underway as she was engaged to a prominent English family against her will but from the desire of her father. In time, she grew to love her fiancé. The day of the wedding was closely moving upon them when the calamity struck. It was this act that would spark the future events of what would be called the Salem Witch Trials.

Believing that these creatures belonged only in the fantasy realm of the human mind, Petra encountered a man when she was returning from a night engagement. When the man asked her for help, and she obliged his request, she was taken and turned as the beast quenched its thirst on her blood. Instead of killing her, she was spared. The monster left no time for explanation, as it left. She was found and brought to the hospital.

Her recovery was short, but her turning was not kind. Having not reined in her impulse, she took the life of her future husband and whatever servants stood nearby. The craze of the feeding — and the nature in how it was preformed — helped substantiate fanatics who claimed she was a witch. One who performed rites through the blood of the innocent.

From thereafter, she abandoned her true identity and worked to begin anew. Time passed as the sins of the world caused Petra to loathe and reject. With her vulnerability to sunlight, her needs of constant blood, and the danger of people knowing her identity has changed the girl. To survive as a monster, she became a monster. Taking control of her family’s business, which was now stationed in England, manipulation and deception acted as her sword and shield.

Soon joining the ranks of her own kind, the old Petra is gone while a crazed, ruthless new one has assumed its place. To survive, this change was necessary.
