I think that applies to D&D too, considering that the current campaign we're doing is supposed to be about finding out who's murdering people, and I'm currently laying a web of deceit that will eventually lead to my rogue usurping the current leader of the cities mercenary police force, someone else sunk a tavern into the ocean, the giant red half-orc convinced people he's a health inspector (so he could sink the tavern into the ocean), and the team has collectively managed to set off a coup against the governing body called the "Golden Triangle Rebellion".

It's a rule every GM should know; no matter how well crafted your plans, players will find ways around them. Ask rtron ;)

Not mine, they are only bare bones: start and end. Nothing really to ruin or toss a wrench into there. :P

Completely true. Most of the major plot points in Three Worlds before Guilddeath? Complete improvisation because of what you all did. Worked out better than I expected to be perfectly honest. XD

That was Blood before Guilddeath, and to be fair, we were going to have an actual plot all GMs would abide by, but then Inked disappeared and we entered that whole, middle woman, while scrambling thing.

It was a mess. A mess that worked, but a mess none the less. :P

I learned this lesson the harshest way possible, when a player killed the guy I intended to be the main antagonist in an old RP of mine. Yeah, so... That was a thing. I hadn't established him to be, in fact I was trying to defer people from suspecting him, but sort of left him, a non-combatant (with the flu) alone with a brutish mercenary. I turned the whole darn plot around ;p Amusingly enough, nobody even noticed until I told them at the end of the RP.

I thought I was behind but apparently not. Clayman's: Hedya is up. Rendezvous Crash: Koka. You do realize it's only me and you in Crash with Brovo out of the picture?
