Hey, sorry for my lack of posting and late CS but here it is for consideration anyway.
Name: Lucas Bishop
Age: 32
Alias: Bishop
Appearance:
Abilities: Bishop is a mutant and has the ability to absorb various forms of energy including but not limited to psychic (not immune to telepathic attacks) and magical. He can also store energy has absorbed to be used later. He can use this stored energy to boost his own systems like healing, stamina and strength for a short time. This power is passive, allowing him to absorb energy at all times.
He can also channel the absorbed/stored energy into biokinetic blasts or redirect the absorbed energy back at the target (and damages them, even if they are immune to their own powers).
He is also a well-trained tactician and an exceptional marksman.
Weaknesses: Bishop cannot absorb kinetic energy from inertial objects (for example, hitting a wall)
He is partially vulnerable to non-energy based attacks e.g. projectile firearms and melee weapons.
Origin: Lucas Bishop was born as a mutant several decades after the Sentinels Initiative went national and the Mutant Registration Act was extended to include the detention of all mutants in several different states, all guarded by huge Sentinel robots designed to eliminate any mutant dissonance. Born to a “normal” human couple, as a mutant, he was taken to the camps as a child and was branded with a large M over his right eye, along with his sister Shard, another mutant with the power to absorb light particles. Several years after their internment, they met with a small resistance group who had a daring, suicidal plan: go back in time and undo the events of the past. Bishop volunteered to travel back and stop the event that lead to the current Mutant Reg. Act: the execution of Nick Fury and the riots of mutants and pro-mutant humans that led to the Acts rush through Congress.
The plan was to travel back to the year that Fury was executed and find the infamous “The Iron Man”, a man who tried to save Fury and failed. Bishop knew the risks he was taking, along with everyone else. In order to allow Bishop to travel back, they would need a large power source to boost the powers of a mutant who was able to create gateways to other places. It was theorised that a large enough jolt could spark a portal to the past. That “jolt” however would kill the mutant and set off a chain reaction that would engulf everything in 5 mile radius. Timing was everything. Bishop and his crew, including his sister, fought their way out of the camp and to a nearby Sentinel repair facility. There, they hooked the mutant up to a spare Sentinel nuclear power source while holding off the other Sentinels. They all knew that if they succeeded, truly succeeded, that none of them would be dead or may have even existed, such is the price of time travel. But they knew what the alternative was. The mutant Gateway successfully opened the portal and Bishop stepped back in time to the year 2013, months after Fury was dismissed from S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Sentinel Initiative became public. It was now his mission to find “The Iron Man” and fix the future.
Sample: Bishop kicked at the small rock towards the fence that stretched for what seemed like miles. Across the fence, a tiny dot of red followed the rock as it twirled and came to a rest before it was popped into a cloud of dust. The large Sentinel slowly turned towards Bishop and stared at him. Well, as much as an emotionless robotic killing machine could stare. It was more likely cross checking his facial features in the Mutant Database to find what level mutant little Bishop was. Not that he knew any of this, he was just a child.
Shard came over and softly placed her on her brother’s shoulder, “Come on Bish, don’t bother the Sents, you know what might happen.”
Bishop looked up at her big sister, his eyes glowing with a strange look, “Shard, I wanna go outside.”
Shard tilted her head at her little brother, “Bish, you ARE outside, you can go play with the others if you like.”
Bishop turned back towards the fence, his tone determined, too determined for a child of his age, “No Shard, I wanna go outside.” Bish pointed towards the fence and the distance city in view of their camp.
Shard sighed, dropped to her knees, and turned her brother towards her, “Lucas, you know you can’t go out there, the Sentinels…”
Bishop shook his head, “One day Shard, the Sentinels won’t be there. I’ll make them go away, then EVERYONE can go outside.”
Shard chuckled, “Sure kid, one day, you’ll save all the mutants and the world. For now, go see if you can save Grandma from her chores.”
Bishop nodded and ran off back to their hut, shouting back at Shard, “You’ll see, Shard!”
Shard turned back to the fence, looking up at the ominous Sentinel ‘staring’ down at Shard, both still as statues, “Sure we will little brother. One day…”
