Potentially. I like short-ranged medium mechs, preferably with AC10's, AC20's, or LBX 10's or 20's. Given that, it's very possible for me to play a Centurion (whose pilot would be inspired by the Yen Lo Wang). I'll need to look at the medium mech list for MW4's mod and see which ones will work best.

I was thinking Heavy/Assault Mechs. My very personal favorite in this category is the Atlas, which I may just go with.

@Lord Coake The Atlas is like, the most vanilla an Assault 'Mech can get. Always ran a Deimos or a Marauder II, hell even the Warlord has more personality, and that's just an Atlas with two rotary AC20's welded to its arms.

As for this interest check? Hmm, won't be able to join in because I'm stuck on a cellphone at the moment, and this all seems rather difficult to do, seems to me it'd be easier to go with the perfectly functional tabletop rules and have the GM make action reports based on dice rolls.

On a side note I'm glad to have found at least one other person who knows what Battletech actually is and not just as Mechwarrior

@Specter189See, I have emotional attachment to the Atlas. It was the first mech I ever saw, it was the first mech I ever won with. I always use the same pilot with an Atlas, whether it's Battetech, Mechwarrior, or anything else.

As for the other RPs, I will be there, just my schedule picked up unexpectedly. I should be able to manage.

Sounds like an interesting way to do something that isn't Precipice (where I'm writing posts for weeks at a time.) My main problem is that downloading software on this government network is a no-go and I know nothing about this aside from the basic giant robots scheme.

I did play like, Mech Assault as a kid but I'm not sure if that's the same thing.

@TheEvanCatWell, it's certainly better than nothing. You're at least familiar with the concept of Battlemechs, and possibly the different weapon types. Say what you will about MechAssault, but it makes for a great intro to the franchise.

Small note: I THINK my last Final is next Thursday. After that, I should be safe to start downloading and practicing and getting back into the groove and teaching people and whatevs.

EDIT: On the in-game battles themselves... How are we handling those? Text chat? Voice chat? Etc. I have no qualms against anything, but I know tons of people would much prefer not to use voice chat on the web. I bring this up because group coordination often hinges on communication.

Would we be RPing in-game once we're in the battles, or only using the battles to simulate the action side of the event?

If someone can't downloading the MW4 files (as in EvanCat's case) or can't get in the same timezone to play with us, do we have backup plans?

Holy fuck! I know I said I wouldn't join an RP within two weeks of leaving for the Air Force, but fuck it, this is too good to pass up!

If we start before I leave, I'll make sure my character either dies or plays a very non-pivotal role. If not, then whatever. Just a heads up that I'm not going to be here long, but god damn I want to be in for however long I can.

That being said, I damn well better get to roll around in either a Marauder, a Timber Wolf, or a Cougar. :3
