Bio: Arys is the name she was given when she was turned. She remembers barely anything about life as a human. Little things tug at her memory now and then, but on the whole she doesn't miss her human life and that is a blessing, for her life as a human was wretched and horrendous. Not even her Shellan, the one who turned her, will speak of it. Because of what happened to her in her former life she harbors a great fear of humans, especially males. To the point where she fears males of any species, even sea creatures like sharks, dolphins and whales.
Arys loves all of her mersisters, but enjoys time to herself as well. Her favorite pastime is searching the reef for beautiful shells to add to her collection and listening to her sisters sing.

Anything else: Nighttime is her favorite time, especially during a full moon.

Name: Kayn (pronounced like Cain)

Age: Turned in Ancient Greece

Tail: His tail is black as night with silver points at the end of his fluke and several dorsal fins along the back that are actually hidden spikes that can cut flesh like butter

Specific Skill: swords are his specialty. he has two large curved blades that he wields at the same time.

Bio: Savage and violent, Kayn carries more anger than his merbrothers. No one really knows why, not even Kayn himself. All he knows is that blood calms his rage, the more of it the better.

When he was turned, everyone expected him to break off and make his own faction, but he has no desire to rule anyone or anything. His desire for blood and fighting likely comes from his days as a gladiator in the collessium in Ancient Greece. He wants to be a force that everything fears. He is not stupid, but he sees no use for knowledge beyond what can be used to further one's desire for either power or territory. He is the favorite of his faction leader. Once he is turned loose in battle he inspires the blood frenzy in his brothers, causing them to become even more violent.
Who knows what, if anything, can calm this beast's rage...?

Appearance: Cecily has short brown hair (sometimes tangled after swimming in the ocean), and she has green eyes. Her skin is lightly tanned from being out in the sun (if she's been indoors for a while, then the tan would go away, leaving her skin to be ivory). She has an hourglass figure, and she stands at 5'4" (as a human anyways). Her lips are thin and she has freckles dotting her face. She tends to wear a barrette or a hair clip in her hair.

Name: Cecily. May be given a different name as a mermaid.

Age: 20 years old. Will become a mermaid very soon.

Tail: Classical mermaid's tail (Fish). The tail is colored a calm silver and blue (Not neon).

Bio:
Cecily doesn't really talk much about her life. Whenever someone asks, she just smiles and switches the conversation to a different topic. The fact of the matter however, is that Cecily lives a lonely life. Her family focused more on her older sister, the perfect one out of the two, while she was left alone. Don't get her wrong though, she is happy for her older sister! But...well, she guessed that her family didn't really need her. She also noticed that many of the friendships she made didn't last very long for some reason. Nevertheless, Cecily remains cheerful and optimistic in public. After all, there is no point in letting the negative emotions get to her...right?

Cecily likes to go to the beach. She finds the scenery, and the sound and the feel of the waves very soothing. For her, it was a nice sanctuary from the hectic schedule of everyday life. She is also somewhat curious about ocean life and can't help but daydream about what it would be like to live in the ocean, if it was possible.

Anything else: Sometimes absent minded and a little ditzy. She also likes to draw.

Specific Skill:
Aquawlad has a talent with animals. Many sea creatures she counts as her friends, such as dolphins and sea turtles, birds, every kind of creature. She can usually tell a creature's intentions/feelings, so long as they aren't trying to hide it.

Bio
A hopeless romantic as well as endlessly caring Aquawlad can end herself in awkward situations. Luckily she is experienced enough to know what is outside of her capabilities and when to let things be. That isn't to be confused with cowardice, she is more than happy to swim up to a shark or even a whale. It is her endless compassion that drives her to curiosity. She craves the feeling of being helpful. She believes that if she shows enough love, she will receive it back.

She cares not to talk of the past, rather to look forward and plan on how to improve everyone's future. She enjoys raising everyone's spirit with stories in the form of songs and poetry, as well foraging for food(and whatever other trinkets there may be), and watching humans.

Anything else:
-Favorite time is between morning and noon, followed closely by sunset.
-She enjoys swimming with dolphins.
-She turned a few humans into mermaids, most of them children.
-her 'children' have all grown older now and have their own lives (the youngest having been a mermaid for 36 years.)

Name: Aquarius
Age: He’s been alive for a few centuries.
Tail: Aquarius’s tail is quite unique. It is dark green and as smooth as a dolphin’s back. It bears a metallic sheen in certain lighting and bears a deceptive appearance. It seems to be one tail that allows him to speed through the water, but it can divide into eight tentacles that he can use to propel him even quicker through the water as well as to ensnare others. Like an octopus, they have suckers on them, making them difficult to easily remove. They are extremely strong and can crush a person if not careful. They produce a toxin comparable to that of the blue-ringed octopus that can paralyze those who come in contact with it. Aquarius tends to use only an incapacitating dose so that he can apprehend foes rather than kill them.

Appearance

Specific Skill:

• Rip Current – with his tentacles, Aquarius can whirl them at blender speeds to create a strong funnel-like current to disorient foes trapped within it or send them whirling away.
• Searing Touch – His trident is capable of heating up to white-hot temperatures. You do not want it touching you.
• Hardwater Toss - Aquarius can condense the water in his hand into a hard sphere and toss it at foes to knock them down or cause injury.
• Venom – His tentacles can produce a venom similar to the blue-ring Octopus that can kill a creature in lethal doses.
• Fin Blades - The fins on his forearms can extend like blades - though they extend backwards towards his elbows in a curved shape. They are a natural defense if ever he is disarmed.
• Echo - Using a similar technique as dolphins (however it is not a clicking noise), echo allows the mermen to communicate, locating each other's presence before they reach them. This allows them to identify the merman and the clan he is from or to form secret formations for ambush. It can be used as a distress signal or a rallying signal.

Bio:
Aquarius hatched from an egg into the Kingdom of the Shellborn, or nicknamed by everyone else, Conch Kingdom or Shellhead Kingdom. The mermen are born with shells on their heads that hide their faces just above their lips (and they can see through them just fine too). The shells are sturdy helms and each one bears a unique shape and design. The largest shells are the most admired and praised. Those merman born with the biggest shell are believed to be destined for leadership or to even be king.

Aquarius was one of those lucky few to have been born with not the biggest shell, but still big enough to earn the admiration of those around him. No one has ever seen the Shellborn’s face for it is taboo for one to remove their helm. If they were to remove it, they could lose it. And if a Shellborn loses his shell, then he is not only forever shamed by the kingdom but banished.

Aquarius was raised to become a guardian of the kingdom, and he has patrolled the waters around the kingdom for years battling creatures from sea monsters, to human ships attempting to troll its water, and the rare encounters of mermaids. It had been years since Aquarius had seen a mermaid for they are regarded as the enemy, although, it is unusual how the kingdom is able to breed. In the center of the kingdom is a giant conch shell where the eggs are born and incubated. It is a sacred place and none are allowed to trespass. The priests of the Conch Temple constantly accept offerings of food and treasure, and introduce the newborns to the world. No one has ever questioned the powers of Mother Conch or the mysterious practices of the priests.

The merman is very set in his ways and therefore is quite stubborn. He is dutiful and loyal to his kingdom. He lives to see that it thrives. He comes off as rather imposing and intimidating but can be quite the teddy bear if one manages to pierce his soldierly shell. He is a fierce combatant and no matter the size of the enemy, he will always be the first to charge forth.

Aquarius loves shellfish. They are his favorite food: crabs, clams, snails, shrimp, and other creatures. He also secretly admires the beauty of the mermaids. Through his short encounters with them for they are quick to flee a merman’s presence, he knew what he saw, but their appearance hadn’t matched the description of “vicious beasts who desire only to lull you into the deep where they’ll feast upon your soul” or “Sea witches who have been known to turn mermen on their own kingdom.” He still regards them as a threat either way.

Anything Else: I have Aquarius looking similar to the pic, but just read for his in-game description. He wears his shell as a helm and so his face is mostly covered up beneath his exotic shell.

Ariyah is a very strong willed woman who tends to voice her opinion when she thinks is necessary, but she knows when to choose her battles. She does come across as timid at first, seeing as how she likes to observes before speaking to strangers but once she is befriended, it's easy to get along with her.

Bio

Ariyah never really expected to become anything in life. In her mind, she believed that she would grow up and settle down as an adult, somewhere far away. She lived with only her mother in a small, two bedroom apartment near the school she went to up until she went off to college. Her mother, being a lawyer, was able to care for the two of them and still have sufficient money for them but Ariyah chose to go off on her own and build something.

It was when she began on her Masters in college, that one unfortunate night she came face to face with the cold waters of the deep. A drunk driver had caused Ariyah to drive off a cliff edge while she was driving back home, and the moment she hit the waters, Ariyah had gone unconscious. She remembers very little of her previous life, only that she was nearly killed by another driver. Her silvery, blue eyes turned into a purple color that sometimes seems dull to others.

Personality: Stoic and indifferent to most people, prefers to keep to himself. Can get outgoing and rowdy around people he trusts and in the heat of battle. Respects honor and loyalty above all else. Considered a strategist and skillful tactician due to his honed intelligence and logical thinking. Retains the British accent from his human heritage.

Background/History: As a human, Casius was a pirate sailing the turquoise Caribbean Sea in the late 1600's. Serving as Quarter Master aboard the reputed Screaming Siren, he was in charge of keeping order among the crew. Casius's older brother Cyrus having been elected as Captain for his ruthless prowess in battle and Casius himself elected to serve under him as Quarter Master for his logical efficiency and uncommon intelligence during that era, together the duo led an unstoppable force.

One stormy night, as they were on their way to the port of Nassau to splurge their most recent plunder on drinks and wenches, Casius was thrown from the ship into the turbulent waters below. Fighting as hard as he could against the thrashing current, Casius soon found himself losing consciousness. On the brink of taking his last breath, he thought he heard singing. A soft lilting song that held an air of sorrow to it. Thinking it was his dying mind playing tricks on him, Casius closed his eyes against the darkness but not before catching a shimmery silhouette of a tailed maiden making her way through the waters towards him.

Upon waking, Casius held no memories of who he was, not even his own name. The only thing he did remember was the ethereal beauty of that maiden in the night. Out of instinct, he immediately began to panic as he noticed the dark waters around him but soon realized he was able to breathe. Almost a second later he also noticed the tail where his legs used to be.

Wandering alone in the deep where even the sun couldn't reach, Casius was found by a band of mermen scouts somewhere off the coast of the Greek Isles. They gave him the name Altum after the Latin word for deep sea and took him in as a brother. He now spends his days training and fighting alongside his new family, secretly hoping to someday catch a glimpse of the mysterious sea maiden that saved his life.

Link would be a tall man if he had legs to stand on. To be specific he would stand at 6 feet. He is well built, think hercules if he was real. His hair is a raven black, with curls in it. His skin seems to be of an olive shade, while his tail is pitch black. His hazel eyes seem to hold a softness that other mermen lack a feeling that you can trust him.

-Deception: For behind that kind smile is razor sharp teeth, hidden teeth that seem to come out of his gums. (like toothless)

Bio:
Link does not remember being human. But, it is said he was a victim of a shipwreck and a shark attack. He had almost died. Being unconscious means he did not witness the mermaid whom saved him. The mermaid who gave him life amongst the sea.
Upon his rebirth, link found himself alone. Alone with only the memory that something terrible happened to him and a name. The name link stuck with him, though why those are the memories that stayed is unknown.
He found a merman base and for a time, stayed. Finding his deception capabilities to give him great reward among the brutes. However, he was not nearly as violent (despite the teeth saying otherwise..) as these mermen. He did not agree with the idea of harming a mermaid or really harming anything without reason. He was cast out rather quickly.
He now swims alone, often seen with pods of orcas, sharks, and other beasts.

Anything else:
Link is very good at deception, however, he is a good person. While strong, he will not randomly beat up a mermaid just because she is a mermaid. If nothing else, he is more likely to help them and deceive the mermen.
After all, mermaids have more things that could help him in the future.
