Noble Arms. A mysterious power that surfaced during the twilight of World War II - a fact that even today have made many sigh in relief; for the power that Noble Arms lent to its master would have undoubtedly made the already destructive conflict so much more terrible. At present time, institutions have been founded in order to control the rapidly surfacing ability to summon powerful weapons - weapons that could, to the bafflement of scientists today, disregard the laws of physics.
Noble Arms are tools that are innate in the users mind, and summoned by their will into reality. For reasons that still cannot be explained despite years of research, Noble Arms only take the form of weapons from before the First World War, however, despite the antiquity of these forms, the power they bare to the battlefield is unlike anything modern technology has been able to produce.
The ability to manipulate the elements to the users will.
Force that can reduce matter down to atoms in seconds.
The strength to withstand the explosion of a nuclear missile.
All of these powers and more still have surfaced along side Noble Arms, and the ones who bare them, the Arms Masters, are sought after by countries all around the world. Where once the strength of a country was decided by the technological strength of their Army, it is now judge by the power of their Arms Masters.
It is now 2015, and the tradition of Arms Masters has been deeply established in society. There are academy's, school's, and programs dedicated to advancing the abilities of Arms Masters for the sake of their country. Truly, there can be no doubt as to the influence that Arms Masters and Noble Arms holds in today's generation.
Focus now on the Trinidad Noble Arms Academy; based in the Philippines, Trinidad is an international school known for its low standards and high graduation rate. It is a school that produces second-rate and mediocre Arms Masters, with no notable achievements save one: it was the Academy that produced the Hero of 1987, Angelito Jaime who single-handedly ended the war between the ASEAN member nations and China before it had even begun.
Now, though its reputation is tattered and its results unspectacular, Trinidad remains a highly populated Academy, boasting of a population of over 2000 students. This is due in part, to Trinidad's unique scholarship system that allows the lower class, who normally are unable to enroll in an Arms Masters Academy, to enroll. However, this year, things have changed; the director had suddenly passed-away, and another one has taken his place. This Director is driven, determined, and powerful. He has announced that he would be remaking the Academy into a first-rate producer of Arms Masters around the world, and he would take that first step by announcing the schools participation in the Noble Arms Summit - an international meet for all Arms Masters, and the main event is the Noble Arms Summit Student Tournament. The Director will achieve this goal by all means; even if it means culling down hundreds of incapable students.
What path will you take on the dawn of this sudden revolution?
Noble Arms: Noble Arms take the form of weaponry that were created before World War I; each Noble Arm posses powerful abilities beyond normal human capacity, however they can only be used if they are released into reality by their user. Noble Arms exist in a kind of 'hyperspace' that is unique to its user and can be called from there - in essence, an Arms Master is always armed. Noble Arms have an astonishingly versatile ability pool, from calling down fire, to strengthening the body, etc., and more often than not, possess more than one ability. However, similar to physical activity, using a Noble Arm is draining physically and moreso mentally - extended use of ability is much akin to overexerting yourself on both fronts, and as such, so much more fatal to overdo.
Noble Arm Ratings: Noble Arms are rated according to how valuable they are, and that value is determined using to factors: Rarity of effect, and military usage. The strength of a Noble Arm is thus determined by how many military and police countermeasures are in place. The rankings go from F to A. There exist Noble Arms that change strength depending on the situation, and are added with the additional "+" symbol.
Examples of determining rank and its effects is:
A Noble Arm Capable of strengthening its user is common, and can easily be countered by police officers with proper ordinance, and thus, merits an E rank, its user is not notable to the government and subsequently ignored.
On the other hand, a Noble Arm capable creating explosions in the atmosphere is uncommon and dangerous, as such, the user must undergo a government registration form and placed under mild scrutiny. The Noble Arm in question will merit a C or B rank.
Finally, there are Noble Arms that can achieve effects akin to nuclear explosions. Such Noble Arms are both rare and extremely dangerous to countries at large. Its user will be under constant surveillance and limits will be placed on the usage of their Noble Arm. Such Noble Arms are always rated A.
Trinidad Academy
Trinidad Academy is located in the Philippines, near the coast of Manila. It's funded by several important banks and a few military organizations and as such, its curriculum matches that of its investors. In this sense, Trinidad is both a school and a military academy. While the students are generally treated as normal students, those in the 11th and 12th grade go through the C.A.T - Citizen Army Training. While this is mandatory in most schools, for Trinidad which is an Academy backed by the military and the country's prime educational facility for Arms Masters, the military has a direct hand in the CAT's.
The academy has a myriad of high-tech facilities available to its students. Most can only be used during classes and can only be used outside of them if for club activities and with the permission of the director, or otherwise if reservations were made - however, reservations cost per-hour of use, making it a non-option for most students.
The Academy uses a ranking system that works on two fronts: 40% on your academics, 40% on your Noble Arms testing grades, 10% conduct, and 10% on honors brought to the academy. Students that enter the top 50 in rankings are given scholarships that include discounts to the school cafeteria and facilities, and a 40% cut of their tuition. Students in the top 20 are given more benefits, such as consideration for special trips - such as overseas training or special vacation spots courtesy of the schools backers - and a 50% cut in their tuition fee. Students in the top 5 have a 100% discount on tuition, a stipend of 5000 PHP (roughly 105 USD) every month, and free use of the schools facilities, however permission is still needed from the director, given reservations in several special training programs - some of them overseas - and vacation spots. Lastly they are exempt from being late for regular classes so long as they remain in the top 5.
Student rankings are evaluated every end of semester, with the first semester rankings being determined by the last semester of the previous years rankings. This system has been in effect since the schools inception, and the new Director plans to take full advantage of it - particularly, by increasing the number of incentives given and increasing the standards of the ranking evaluations.
The Academy has dorms that can be rented for roughly 5000 php per month.
The greatest gathering of Arms Masters in the world. Taking place only once every two years over a period of one week, the Noble Arms Summit is both a show of force and a sharing of information and abilities of Noble Arms, and is meant to progress research into the mysterious power. While older Arms Masters generally attend the summit in order to scout out potential apprentices and to update themselves on current developments, students that attend are generally only here for one thing: The Noble Arms Summit Student Tournament. The tournament is the Summit's main event and draws the eyes of the whole world. Winners of the tournament are the prime targets of sponsors, advertisement and admiration; they are practically guaranteed a good life. Eligible participants of this tournament are those in the seventh grade to college students up to the 3rd year only.
The tournament is split into two divisions: Team and Individual. Participants in the Individual Division can participate in the Team Division, however, most schools avoid doing this and usually choose to focus on one division. The require number of students in the team division is 6, and the total number of Arms Masters a school can choose to represent their school is eight. Also, there can only be 3 participant schools per country, meaning that unless a certain standard has been met, as long as those standards have not been reached, a school will not even be considered by the government body of that country.
The current Individual's champion is the USA's Joshua Bannings, and the current runner-up is China's Cuifen Jiang-yi. The current champion of the team division is Japan's Shin-Sakura Gakuen, with its captain Tomoyo Sakuragi being a previous Individual Champion three years ago.
An organization bent on pushing the importance of Noble Arms and Arms Masters, and is the chief backer of their rights globally. Many of its supporters are wealthy and well known, however, they often face strong opposition from non-Arms Masters due to the agenda's they push and the number of benefits they desire for Arms Masters.
An organization determined to limit the use of Noble Arms and the suppression of Arms Masters. Their main goal is to abolish schools and facilities dedicated to Noble Arms and to limit the occupation of Arms Masters to the military only. Often, they are supported by many labor unions and social media outlets.
A terrorist organization bent on creating a world were Arms Masters are the rulers. Their ideology is that Arms Masters are not, in fact, human, but a new superior race that deserves to be in power. Current number of members is unknown, however they have 2 confirmed A ranked Arms Masters in their ranks, a fact that worries many countries.
A terrorist organization bent on erasing or otherwise oppressing Arms Masters. Their ideology is that Arms Masters are not, in fact, human, but a race of monsters born with nothing but the ability to bring misery and destruction and as such must be culled or otherwise strictly controlled. A cause that many have joined and more have supported, and because of the support they have garnered from the masses, they are able to move through countries and city with relative ease.
Emergency Response Course: Classes focused on what to do during an emergency situation, such during a riot, robberies, or when confronted with hostile forces. Mainly focused on what to do during human-based emergencies.
Small Unit Tactics: class centered on how to work in groups numbering 3-6 members. Not necessarily centered on combat.
Crisis Management: How to respond to natural disasters or a national crisis, and how to deal with the aftermath.
Control Course: Focusing specifically on learning total control over the student's NA.
NA-PE: Physical education, but with Noble Arms.
Group Combat: Working on teamwork in combat involving 5 or more people.

Age: 17 Noble Arm: The Champion - a Roman gladius with a golden pommel. It's first ability, titled "Arena" is a strong mental suggestion that forces his opponents to fight him in a straight forward duel - that is to say, they will find themselves unable to fight him using anything but their fists and physical prowess. Should Joshua manage to win while they are under the influence of this ability, his second ability activates automatically; "Spoils of War" takes away a piece of the defeated one's skill or ability. This can be anything to mental capacity or physical prowess, and does, in fact, affect Noble Arms abilities. Joshua contests that he does not "steal" from his opponents, but simply makes a permanent copy of their abilities, however, those that have lost to him have found themselves unable to access the skills he now possesses, earning him his reputation as the Bogeyman of Arms Masters. Age: 16 Noble Arm: The Green Dragon - a guan dao, that some like to say was bestowed on her by the spirit of Guan Yu himself. Bio:

Leo John Cojuangco Age: 17 Noble Arm: My Glory - a German Kriegsmesser sword. Noble Arm Abilities: "Center of the World" - While he has not scratched even the bare surface of his abilities true potential, which is suspected to be the manipulation of each of the known fundamental interactions of nature. So far, all he's been able to do is alter the gravity of everything of an area within an 18 meter radius of him. "The Greatest and the Least" - Leo is able to manipulate the mass of an object he's come into contact with. The 'mass' itself is imaginary, as the objects who's mass increases do not actually gain any additional matter. Bio:

Age: 16 Noble Arm: Diavolo - The Demon Bow, C+ Ranked Noble Arm. A sleek black longbow with the carving of a demons head on each end.
Noble Arm Abilities: "From Hell" - The black bow is capable of turning its wielder and projectiles invisible. Moreover, shots fired from the bow can have have their momentum "paused" and held suspended in mid air until they are released, at which point they continue on their course, losing none of their power. The arrows can be moved and turned while they are suspended, thus changing the direction of their flight.
Bio: From a relatively rich family with Spanish descent, Tristan distinguished himself by being the youngest to attain the rank of #3 in Trinidad, which, while seemingly no great feat due to the schools standards, was actually more difficult than apparent at first glance, due in part to his competition. Among the top 3, he is the one who has least participated in duels.

Age: 14 Noble Arm: Conquistador - a B+ -rank NA, shaped silver rapier 114 centimeters long. Noble Arm Abilities: "The Conqueror" - A passive effect of conquistador. The more opponents arrayed against her, the stronger and more durable she becomes, moreover, the strength gained is relative to the strength of her individual opponents. The effect decreases with allies on her side. When tested, this ability allowed to decimate a trained group of military Noble Arms users with brute strength alone.
"God, Gold & Glory" - Allows her to fight at full strength no matter her condition. Even should she be near death, she will still be capable of fighting as though still fresh. She will only stop once her body is no longer able to handle the burden placed on it, at which point she will simply collapse.
"Indomitable" - Her ultimate trump card. It is a defensive ability that empowers her with the speed to counter all attacks thrown at her, while simultaneously eradicating it from existence. It's limits have not been tested to its fullest, however, Sevhanna was able to effectively react to five tank shells shot at the same time, destroying all simultaneously and without effort. It is suspected that if her upper limits are tested, she may be promoted to A-rank.
Bio: The youngest in history to ever hold a spot in the top 10 of Trinidad, with the extremely distinct honor of also being the eighth person to hold a B-rank Noble Arm within its walls, and 1 of 50 people in the Philippines to hold that rank, while being the only one with the potential to become A-rank. She comes from a mountain tribe in the foggy regions of Baguio. Being the first in her family to manifest a Noble Arm of such power, she was immediately scouted and her education practically given to her on a silver platter.
Precisely 5 feet and 5 inches tall and weighs in at 120 pounds. The eyes are that way because of her noble arms and her hair is obviously dyed.
Name: Nishka
Age: 15
Nationality: American
Noble Arm Name & Appearance: A Bag of rocks. Usually referred to as 'the sack'. The sack appears to hold an endless amount of rocks, the rocks themselves change slightly in shape depending on Nishka's intent. Very slightly though, they can be perfect for skipping, slinging, throwing, and the like. It is unknown if the sack has any other properties.
Noble Arm Abilities: The sack allows Nishka to swap any inanimate object's position in her power's radius and her line of sight. Normally it has a radius of 10 meters, but if focused upon the range can currently increase up to 30 meters. She can swap anything at more or less the speed of thought, allowing her to react to things with startling speed. Nishka has trouble swapping anything much larger than a van. On the other hand using this ability has nearly no noticeable drain on Nishka's energy allowing her to use this countless times before the loss becomes noticeable. However when attempting anything larger than a car the energy drain starts becoming exponentially bigger, giving her rather set limits on what she can swap.
Personality: Nishka is a no nonsense kind of girl. She has little patience with lazy people or those that beat around the bush. She can also be a bit judgmental, lumping people into a category as soon as she sees them for the most part. Nishka has a quick wit and is rarely bested in verbal combat, and if she was you'd get something worse. Morals are a bit of a grey-black area for her, whatever best serves her purposes works.
Likes: Meat, Fruits, Vegetables, Protein Shakes, Candy, Power,
Dislikes: Idiots, Lazy People, Arrogant People, Mostly things that aren't food.
Fears: Losing her noble arms, Starving, Loud Noises
Bio: Nishka was a street urchin, born and raised in the rough and tumble of the city. Nishka thrived in the rough environment, stealing was easy for her and she was tough enough to hold her own in any fight with the help of her trusty rocks. She stuck it out solo, just herself and her noble arms, though she didn't know it was that at the time. After getting into a particularly rough situation Nishka found out that the second part of her noble arms, the swapping ability. Naturally her life picked up from there, stealing was trivial, no one could beat her in a fight. It was some time later that she found out what she had was a noble arms. Nishka quickly became interested in attending an academy. She'd heard of several and wanted to see if they taught anything helpful, as well as to see other noble arms.
Current Goal: Find out what this school's dealio is.
@TheHangedMan *Kicks down door with arms full of CS* Oh Oh I'm here as well!
Appearance:
Is 5'8" and 134 Lbs
Name: Aleksis Shorbrooks
Age: 16
Nationality: Russian
Noble Arm Name & Appearance: Her Noble Arm is a twin set of rapiers named "Draecion Crashes", they have extremely sharp 5/6 meter blades made of a shiny almost black metal with a stripe of red running down the edge and center of the blades. The hilts of the swords are of German Pappenheimer style which covers the whole top of the hand and back of the hand with a swirled hand guard.
Noble Arm Abilities: Aleksis is able to absorb and redirect Kinetic energy from things inside her line of sight while it's inside the range of about 3 1/2 meters. After absorbing a certain amount of kinetic energy Aleksis can launch a red long range pulse of the energy that, depending on the amount, can launch an average human with a low amount of energy or obliterate large city or bunker after absorbing a massive amount of energy like a nuclear explosion. She can either use this ability or she can cause her eyes to turn from silver to red and her physical prowess increases 10-fold for a maximum of 17 seconds just before she releases the energy wave that releases from her body but after this she returns to her natural state. one weakness is that it takes time for her to charge up her energy wave which means that those who could end the battle quickly have the advantage unless they use an explosion which would just feed her enough kinetic energy to use against them. She is even able to steal and add to the kinetic energy from atoms in the air ((or any other no-living substance)) which can charge her pulse and change the states of matter, to charge from atoms is a very slow process. There is a limit to how much she can absorb and after she passes that limit the kinetic energy starts to seep out of her and into the ground and surrounding air which makes it unstable to the point where it is able to combust/break easily
Personality: Aleksis is a pretty lazy girl but is also hardworking when she wants or needs to be and this is both a blessing and a curse because she isn't really taken seriouisly by some people when they aren't talking about powers. If anything she hates talking to people in person and prefers to be on the other side of a headset microphone or cellphone just because there is a way to instantly end the conversation, but she will talk when it is necessary. She loves a good fight if only to just test new techniques, but also because she likes the feeling of teaching others and helping them in a bit of a roundabout way. She is very dedicated to combat training but she puts academics far above that. Aleksis is very smart and calculating because her Noble Arm requires her to be as a slip in calculation could lead not only to injury to her and possibly death to her opponent
*Likes: Gaming, cooking/eating, not sleeping, electronics, clovers, training.
*Dislikes: loud people, spicy food, her phone dyeing, people who act like they are better than her, group work.
Fears: She is terrified of heights
Bio: Aleksis hadn't always been a loner, when she was a child she was actually very social and nice but then something changed after her mother and father separated when she was five years old. She never understood why they broke up but she had taken it to heart and she began to slow down with her socializing as well as her sports activities though kept up with fencing practice. What really shut her down though was that her mother and father began dating other people before even a month was out since they had broken up. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, she felt as though the two had just betrayed her. In the following few years her room became more and more fortified from the inside out, her door had deadbolt locks installed and her room almost became a house itself though Aleksis still had to go out to get food and drinks though didn't talk to her mother or her new boyfriend. When they discovered that Aleksis possessed a Noble Arms her mother sent her to the academy without a word to her father though she doubted that he would really care.
Promise's ability is called "Angle's embrace" is the ability to copy someone's Anatomy every 24 hours and restore said individuals body to the copy. The wounds have to be restored within 24 hours or promise can't do anything. Also the user of promise gets inflicted 12 times the pain of the wound. When activated turns Yuri's eyes a bright white.
Betrayal's abilities are "Demons wrath" breaking the intermolecular bonds and so decomposing or disintegrating the target. It can directly disassemble, therefore, if used on a person, the parts that form the human body, including skin, flesh, nerves, body fluids, bones, and cellular structures would be decomposed at a molecular level. If use consecutively "demons wrath" can kill Yuri because he's shooting parts of his soul. When Demons wrath is activated, a dark aura starts emanating off of him and psychical changes can be seen. Such as darkening of the eyes, graying of the skin, and his veins turning into to a almost back color. Only two shots can be fired before Yuri is thrown into critical condition, he also has to be in fiends physiology.
Betrayal's second ability is called "Fiend's Physiology" This grants him inhuman perception and speed, equal to that of a great fiend. It also greatly changes his physiology, turning his eyes a crimson color, bones protruding from his spinal Column, skin darkening to a sickly grey, and the steady growth ram horns. After deactivating Fiends Physiology, Yuri is extremely exhausted and fatigued.
strengths: Perceptive, Kind, and Calm
weaknesses: Headstrong, Easily worried, and doubtful
Personality: Kind, caring, compassionate, Has a soft spot for animals and women. Mild pacifist but that changes when he's disrespected or those he cares about are.
Likes: Spicy food, Reading, Beethoven, and training
Dislikes: Laziness, Harm of the weak, and disrespect
Fears: Dishonoring his family's name and letting those he cares about come into harms way
Bio: Yuri was born into a family of soldiers he was always in the shadow of his brothers but when he was discovered to have come into possession of noble arms.
He became the center of his fathers world, Yuri was over joyed to get the attention of his father Intel his fathers so called "training" begun Yuri was beaten for hours on end along with having to mercilessly beat others all in his fathers pursuit of creating the perfect solider.
But one day Yuri's father made him spar with his brother after a long battle Yuri stood above his brother as he went to help his brother up, Yuri's father stopped him and told him he needed to learn another lesson and to kill his brother. "Show no mercy, and you'll become everything I dreamed of my son." His father said as he held Yuri's brother down, but to no avail Yuri couldn't do it he loved his brothers even if they never paid attention to him, so he ran and didn't stop Intel his home was far out of sight and after earning some money headed to the Philippines to join the academy his father never ceased to mentioned during their training. He would attend the academy and when he was strong enough return to his home and prove his father he was wrong about him.
@TheHangedMan Here you go. Tell me if anything needs to be tweaked.
Appearance: Extremely muscular build from years of fitness training at the Academy in order to better manoeuvre with the shield. Strong jawline. Slightly taller than average. Tan olive skin and dark hair.
Name: Luis Rosario
Age: 17 (Eleventh Grade)
Nationality: Puerto Rican, immigrated to United States
Noble Arm Name: El Tobogán (name chosen by his siblings)
Noble Arm Rating: D+
Appearance: A shield with the shape and dimensions of a curved rectangular scutum. 105.5 centimetres (41.5 in) high, 41 centimetres (16 in) across, and 30 centimetres (12 in) deep (due to its semicylindrical nature). Weighs 10 kilograms. Has a majestic blue and gold decal and rimmed with a shining silver. Made of an unknown material.
Noble Arm Abilities: Strengths: Extremely durable; absorbs all force when hit so there’s no jolt against Luis; absorbs all forms of energy from kinetic to heat and electricity; size and ability of shield gives Luis a very strong defence Weaknesses: Can defend pretty well against sharp weapons but will not absorb force from them (if attacked enough with sharp weapons, it’s possible for the sharp object to penetrate the shield); shield is very heavy so Luis will not fare well against a speed-oriented fighter, weight of shield will also give Luis a disadvantage in prolonged battles as he will get tired. Effects: Shield absorbs any sort of energy put into it, which Luis can then redirect as he sees fit. Examples of his energy use include strengthening his body or sending out a wave of pure kinetic energy from his free hand. Luis is capable of converting the energy from the shield into different forms (eg. kinetic into heat, magnetic or electric) but currently struggles with this, as he needs to understand the complete ins-and-outs of the physics of it, right down to the subatomic level, to use it freely. The input to output ratio of energy is at around 10:7. Will not absorb force from sharp objects. Whether or not there is a cap to how much energy the shield or Luis' body can hold is unknown.
Personality: A generally quiet young man that avoids being conspicuous. Is wary of people in power like his stepdad. Absolutely despises the stigma of violence and expectations surrounding being an Arms Master, as well as anything to do with the military or organisations he deems to be corrupt. A natural "big brother" sort of personality. Is willing to fight in practice battles and sparring matches but does not want to be involved with the official dealings of the global Noble Arms community. Would skip out on his CAT if it weren't for the major scaling it would have on his ranking. Extremely diligent, gained his current rank through hard work rather than natural intelligence. Working hard to provide for himself and his family in the future. Currently considering whether or not to aim for the top 50, as the rewards are very enticing but then his profile would become too noticeable.
Likes: Free time Karaoke with friends Sunny days String instruments
Dislikes: Loud things (constantly loud people, loud sudden noises, Heck, even loud colour schemes) Being used or seen as a commodity Organised conflict Goats
Fears: Getting conscripted, something happening to his family
Bio: Born in Puerto Rico to a relatively poor family with children. Father died in a factory accident when he was young, around age four. Mother got remarried eight years later to a white businessman who operated a subsidiary company in the area. It would be an understatement to say that Luis disliked his mother's new husband. He was frequently warned by the older souls of the Puerto Rican community of the arrogant, wealthy outsiders that would bring in their businesses. And as he grew older and learned about the debt crisis that the American businesses had triggered, he grew to hate them even more. The family moved to Brooklyn soon after and luckily, Luis' English was decent enough to have him fit in at school. It was also around this time that his Noble Arms manifested. Against his protests, he was shipped off to Trinidad Academy. There he learnt the history of Arms Masters, the horrors and pettiness of war, and to his own dread, the expected futures of Arms Masters. His career at Trinidad Academy has been fairly quiet. Luis works hard in his studies and his training. Teachers recognise the effort he puts in and he is regarded as an exemplary student and role model. His rank would be much higher if it weren't for his reluctance to partake in his military training and inter-school competitions.
Current Goal: Finding a career path that isn’t oriented around his Noble Arm, helping his family prepare to be financially independent from his stepfather (if the time ever comes, I mean. Gotta be prepared, y'know?), avoiding permanent military involvement
Hopefully, this will be accepted. I tried to make a somewhat unique character.
6'0, 165 pounds.
Name: Alastair Windsor
Age: 16
Nationality: British
Noble Arm Name & Appearance:
Noble Arm Rating: C+
A seemingly indestructible army case. It has no unique traits that would distinguish it from other cases. Though Pandora's Box does not possess the outright destructive power of other high ranked Noble Arms, it's abilities have devastating potential if used correctly.
Noble Arm Abilities: Pandora's Box possess a multitude of abilities that allows it's user to tackle various situations.
Enhanced Durability - Pandora's Box is near impervious to any source of damage and should in the rare instance that damage is taken, it has the ability to regenerate itself. Alastair often uses Pandora's Box as a makeshift shield due to its durability. However, despite it's supposed indestructibility, it is still a physical shield and pales in comparison to other defensive Noble Arms that possess forcefields, shock absorbers and the like.
Mass and Weight Manipulation - Pandora's Box possesses the ability to freely change it's size and weight. Alastair can shrink the Noble Arm down to the size of a pebble for easy transportation or to be as large as a small house. It's weight can also be adjusted up to a 100x degree, allowing Alastair to use it as weapon by rapidly increasing the weight as he attacks.
Pocket Dimension - Within Pandora's Box lies an alternate dimension. Alastair can store both living and non-living objects in this dimension, allowing him to transport whatever essentials or personnel he might require. The dimension itself appears to be the interior of a rather large mansion.
Cloning - Pandora's Box is capable of creating temporary clones of any non-living object. The clones themselves are perfect, meaning cloning a gun will result in a fully functional copy. However, a clone can only last for a maximum of an hour and the more clones there are, the shorter the duration. For example, creating 10 clones of a gun would mean they'd each last for six minutes before vanishing. There is no limit on the amount of clones, meaning Alastair himself has potentially an endless amount of weapons. He simply isn't able to distribute large quantities of them to arm an entire army as the weapons would vanish soon after distributing them.
Personality: Alastair typically has a relaxed and almost bored attitude, he is unlikely to get worked up unless in drastic circumstances and even then, he is fully capable of remaining calm and collected. He has a friendly personality and can crack jokes with others easily. However his nonchalant attitude can often end up angering the more serious students of Trinidad Academy.
Likes: Books, art, music and intelligence.
Dislikes: Idiots, arrogance, ignorance and crowded places.
Fears: Being powerless.
Bio: Alastair is an illegitimate child, the result of the head of the Windsor family fooling around with prostitutes. Being a blemish on the prestigious history of the Windsor nobles, Alastair was treated with much disdain from a young age. Despite that, he was a notable genius, digesting information much faster than his elder siblings could. This only brought up jealousy amongst his siblings. Alastair's childhood was anything but pleasant. However, when his Noble Arm manifested itself, even his uncaring father had to pay attention to him. Alastair being sent to Trinidad to 'develop' his abilities was merely a front for his family to get rid of him out of fear that he would seek revenge against them using his Noble Arm.
@KindledBeastIs there a reason why I can't be this rank? From the way Trinidad's rankings were described (40% academics, 10% conduct, 10% achievements), it seems that its very possible to be ranked high even if you don't have a nuclear weapon for a Noble Arm. Especially for a school that was described as mostly mediocre. If it's for plot reasons though, I'll change it.
@Animus It's mostly for plot reasons, yeah. Though I will say that the ranking of a Noble Arm actually plays very little in your ranking, as you say. All ranks from 100 upwards are free game, provided your character is actually worthy of the rank. Also, your Noble Arm has to be a weapon or instrument of war from before WWII :)
@TheHangedMan I'm going to be working on a character of my own soon, though I'll be Private Messaging her to you, since I have a few rather odd ideas haha. Of course, It'll be entirely up for discussion.
@Eklispe same thing as above (sorry, I know I accepted it last time, but I wanna stick closer to the theme this time around) I can still accept the sack, though why not let it accompany an actual slingshot, like the ones used by the Balearic Slingers of back then? A Sling was one of the most dangerous weapons of back then, and could reach as far as 400+ meters, and elite Slingers could accurately hit targets from that distance.
@KindledBeast The use of Demon's Wrath at this stage should be limited to about 2~3 shots only, assuming that if he shoots a third time, he'll hit critical health. Also, he can only use it when he's in "Fiend's Physiology" mode, which can only be sustained for around 15 seconds. That way we can balance out your character with the others while also giving him room to grow, is that fine?
@The ghost in black She should have a limit to the amount of energy she can store -- probably around skyscraper leveling force if she pushes it -- and she either uses the energy to boost her physical abilities, or she launches it as a beam. If she tries to use both at the same time, then the effects will weaken. It kind of makes sense, since both abilities are drawing from the same source. Other than that, she's good.
@TheHangedManStudent rank, Noble Arm as well as the Noble Arm ranking has been adjusted. It seems you've commented on other's peoples abilities but not mine, is it Alastair's Noble Arm fine?
Name: Gloria Age: 17 Nationality: Mongrel Place of origin: Unknown, somewhere around Middle East Noble Arm: "Magnanimous Unbound Sun", an unranked (E+ provisional Rank) Tattoos Adaptation/Enhancement-type Arm. Height: 210 cm Build: Athletic Eye and hair color: Gold Complexion: Tan Notable features: Faint pattern of scars covering her whole body Voice: Clear, crisp and deep, deeper than most of other girls. She would make lower ranges of mezzo-soprano if she would sing, maybe even contralto. Style: Minimalist and somewhat rough, with short-cropped hair and nails, no makeup whatsoever and hard posture devoid of feminine grace. Clothes: Usually some variation of sand- or green-colored t-shirt, army jacket and cargo pants in urban or universal camo patterns, with jacket sometimes being substituted for tactical vest and t-shirt being substituted for an army combat shirt, depending on the weather and Gloria's mood. On clear days she wears patrol cap and/or sunglasses, which she stores in one of the pockets while indoor. She owns pair of sturdy gloves, but almost never uses them, and her footwear of choice is army combat boots - lately, she got one pair for hot climate. She's never seen without container of some sort - usually haversack, but she's been known to employ knapsack or even backpack when in need of carrying more gear. The reason behind her adherence to the military gear is sipmle - it's a lot easier to find something large enough for her at the surplus store than search normal ones - that and military gear tends to be durable and functional. She does have some "nice" clothes though, those being dark green turtleneck and somewhat scuffed roomy dark grey jeans....she keeps army boots, though. She almost never wears them. Her "combat" clothing is either her usual day-to-day or sports bra and track shorts, without footwear: she wears as little as she could get away with to be decent in public so that her clothing would not get in the way of Painted Wooden Swords' constructs with which she armors herself. Noble Arm Name & Appearance:"Magnanimous Unbound Sun" is a set of faintly glowing tattoos which cover her head to toe in the beautiful, swirling patterns that seems to accentuate her build or follow her body meridians, with different flower- or sunburst-like patterns on the intersections, with the most prominent (and brightly glowing) on her brow. Brightness of the glow intensifies with the amount of power she uses, until it starts to leak out from her in the visible halo-like effect, so bright it becomes painful to stare at her directly.
Noble Arm Abilities:
Magnanimous Unbound Sun’s ability is called “Excellence in Ten Thousand Things” – conceptual mastery over the concept of “excellence”, the quintessential ability to endure and prevail over any setback or foe. Theoretically it offers its wielder an inexhaustible well of unformed potential to be put to use in further achievements, in practice human mind could not even start to grasp at the full majesty of notion that “everything is possible”, so most of it are safely locked away by the failsafes. Instead, it deals in discrete abilities called “Edges” or “Charms” by Gloria. When she’s under heavy stress and proves unable to deal with it, or when she accumulated enough experience in trying to further her ambitions while struggling against obstacles, small sliver of potential begins the process of coalescing into the new ability, which is usually suited to the task at hand – Gloria could try and semiconsciously influence the process, but only to a degree(also, her level of experience in one or other way of resolving problems seems to influence the probability of her manifesting the Edge that helps her in that way – her Arm plays to her strengths, not covers her weaknesses). Each time her Arm is called upon, it manifests full realized panoply, so if Gloria wish to acquire new “Edge”, she has to find a way to challenge herself in some new form or quality, so that her existing “Edges” would not provide easy(or even moderately difficult) solution. Moreover, the process is far from instanteous, so she often has to retreat and wait until it finishes setting before she could use the new Edge. Her currently active Edges include:
Painted Wooden Swords – Tools is one of the advantages man has over most other species – where our own abilities prove insufficient, we reach out and take from the world something that could give us necessary leverage. Gloria developed this Edge from the endless frustration of shortages of gear in her wanderings. It allows Gloria to reach out and take the tool necessary from the world, shaping the light itself into convincing facsimile in the swirl of multicolored sparks. Gear shaped this way looks like almost real, except for the faint glowing outline which is easy to miss on the clear day if you don’t know what to look for. It functions almost as a real example, too – it interacts with the world as if made with the best of materials or techniques known to Man, or very slightly better than that: knife would cut, piece of metal on the rope would serve as a counterweight, etc. Gloria, however, could ignore some or other properties of their “reality” – she could lift and swing the greataxe created by this Edge as easily as children lift twigs while playing pretend, for after all said and done, all gear summoned that way is just an apparitions of light and color given form and function, and as she does their nature as such becomes apparent to anyone watching as they briefly become nothing more than semitransparent shapes of solid light, though no less real in other ways for that to the other world. This also gives her something of an intuitive aptitude with an object in question – since she could evade most of the difficulties normally tied to using it, it’s a lot easier for her to do what she’s envisioned. There are some limitations to this Edge, however: Gloria needs to have a very good understanding of properties of piece of gear she wants to summon that way and focus on them while calling for an object for it to become “real” to the other world; hence, summoning complex form requires intimate understanding of its workings and intense concentration. As such, Gloria limits herself in the stressful situations (such as a combat) to the simplest of forms and several forms which she trained to concentrate on so long it became a rote action to do so; he current peak of achievement is composite greatbow – which she still has to spend dozen seconds or so recalling in the sufficient details to properly imagine all moving parts. For that reason, she cannot currently summon any complex mechanism or anything that requires chemical reaction to work. She could, however, “scale” simple object to some fairly impressive proportions if given some time to prepare. It also bears noting that nothing summoned with this Edge is permanent – as the objects are merely the hardlight duplicates of real ones, they wink out of existence the second Gloria stops manifesting her Noble Arm. She could, however, decide to dissolve some of them prematurely.
Enter the Dragon – One of the soldiers that taught Gloria how to survive on her own once said that if she’s got teeth, then she got weapon. Trailer for one of the classical old films she watched on the battered videotape player inbetween missions on a base in the middle of nowhere, too, promised to show her how the heroes overcome being challenged with one of the most ancient and formidable weapons of all: human body. There are also countless records of people performing stunning feats of prowess – stuff of legends, like there. Gloria was fascinated by this, and thus this Edge was formed. It amps up her body to the peak of supposed human prowess – or even slightly better than such. With it, Gloria gains the potential to perform any feat that was ascribed to a human being in some story somewhere. There are two limitations to this Edge, however: first, it can only duplicate feats that have not been enabled by some form of supernatural assistance – she cannot replicate invulnerability of Achilles, for example; and second, it does not give her any actual skill to do so – physical capabilities, reaction speed, aptitude or talent, but not actual skill to do the deed – so in practice, she is limited to feats of raw physical strength, speed and endurance in most cases. It gives her an excellent aptitude for learning new tricks, however – some of which carries over to her unpowered state.
Ship of Theseus – No matter how mighty the hero, no matter how vigorous or keen or able, sands of time eventually claims everyone. It’s one of the laws of the universe, see – everything ages and turns to dust, whether people, their works, even stories of their achievements perhaps. It is said that even mighty gods could not outfight the Reaper. Reaper, however, could be, even if only temporarily, outraced. There’s a legend of an old ship which was a trustworthy companion to the hero in his great quest to the far lands, left upon the shore as a tangible memory, reminder of its days of glory. It withered, boards rotting off one by one with days, but people cared for it and replaced them as that happened, keeping the ship’s appearance pristine. One day, there was not even a single board left in that ship that belonged in the original one, yet it still stood there, legend materialized. Legends, it is said, never die. So, too, this Edge constantly repairs any and all signs of damage or wear and tear as they occur in Gloria’s body, mind or soul: flesh knitted whole and reinvigorated anew, feverish mind soothed and bolstered, soul reinforced again and again. It does more than simply restoring her, however – you could never win the race if you won’t try to get ahead, after all – and so, this Edge subtly improves on her each time it affects her, compensating for an injuries with changes to make her more resilient, more vigorous, more capable of overcoming them, pushing her to some inscrutable ideal one small modification at a time. Some changes are already evident: where once she’s been tall, but lanky girl now is a picture of athletic perfection, her bones, and skin are tougher than normal for humans, harder to break, she could withstand much greater g-forces than normal people, on the level of trained pilots, she’s outright immune for many diseases and some of the drugs out there – opiates, for example; though she’s not sure why this Edge changed her eyes and hair to the color of molten gold – apparently, it is part of some “platonic ideal” it pushes her to. She’s a lot more confident than she was too, worries and traumas of her past swept away and replaced with undying resolve to make better tomorrow come to pass after all.
Rage Against the Dying Light – Gloria always was hot-blooded child, not content to lay down and let the situation take its course. Nether would she flee – instead, she would dig her heels and fight to the bitter end, her blood coursing with adrenaline. Such is a way to have a good life – fighting for it against all odds. This Edge exemplifies this way of life, sending her powers into overdrive each time she takes a wound serious enough to cause her pain or weakness and compensating for them. It gradually amplifies her Edges with each wound taken as a form of automatic response, and powers down when she unsummons her Noble Arm, resetting to the baseline level after that.
Not Today – The concept of “runner high” or “second wind” is widely-known phenomena. So, too, the concept of “second chances” – when you have not succeeded at first, try again later. However, a soldier don’t always has time to retreat, recover and rest. Gloria developed this Edge when she had to rescue her unit on the last vestiges of her stamina, and it saved her hide several times since then. Put simply, it’s her “second breath”. When running out of stamina, staggering with wounds which even her regeneration could not heal over in time, or otherwise pushed in the corner, she can call upon this Edge to open up its reserves. In an incandescent display of power, her body, mind and soul are restored to their peak condition, fully healed and refreshed. During the process she’s usually lifted up in the air and strong light flash and concussive wave issues from her body, as excess power bleeds off into the world around her into the towering pillar of radiance the size of a lighthouse above her. She could do so only once before recharging those reserves, however, and calling upon them puts heavy strain on her body and mind, rendering her anemic and confused for about two days after she dismisses her Noble Arm and putting her at a severe risk of burning out if she would summon it during that period.
Personality:
*Likes: Good food, good fight and good people around her. Showing off, but not when that interferes with business. Seeing new sights, learning new tricks. Helping out people, depending on how much she likes said “people” in particular.
*Dislikes: Petty or untrustworthy people. Boring, repetitive tasks or waiting without something to do. Being told what to do without a way to meaningfully express her opinion on the matter. Going without any challenge for too long.
Fears: Being crippled permanently, in a way she could not heal from or trapped in some way she could not escape. Defining virtue: Generous Defining vice: Brutish Quote: "Surely you could hit a girl?"
Bio:
Gloria hails from somewhere around the Middle East. She’s not sure from where – her town of birth was sacked by the local branch of Hammer of Masters when she was five – her parents was in the town’s militia and was executed for resistance, leaving her orphan with nowhere to go to. She was “adopted” by the branch, alongside with other children, and raised as a future soldier of the cult. As it stood, one of the leaders revived the time-honored tradition of making the guard of orphans of slain enemies, or something like that. Reasoning was simple – raised from young enough age as a soldiers of the cult, without any loyalties outside, such soldiers would gladly give their lives on command. Well, apparently Mongols knew what they did when they killed everyone taller than the cart’s wheel. Gloria – Number Five then – was always rather tall, taller than most of her peers. And though she went through motions and routines and prayers and made her sacrifices like everyone else, faint memories of her childhood were always with her – no matter how brutal or merciless were beatings, no matter how sweet were prayers or what they were made to take before them – she carried it with her as an another life – with doubts, but she persisted still. Perhaps camaraderie would have helped her with those memories, perhaps she would have been content with her new family after all these years…. Perhaps not. She was a clever child, with initiative and ambition and drive to always be the best. Instructors promised her the position of the sergeant – maybe even leutenant of the guard, when previous would have fallen in the battle. Never captain, though – that position was reserved for someone with a mighty Noble Arm only, and though she could have competed with someone low-ranking, what mortal could compete with someone who could be described as a living demigod? Too, as the initiation rite drew closer, she began to hear rumors. Apparently, someone questioned her drive and fire. She was appointed to the extended rite, one of the “special honors” – where the body of initiate were to be etched with psychedelic, poisonous ink which would render them numb to pain, harden their will – and, as rumors went, utterly stomp out their ambitions, or something to that end. Camaraderie proved to be a double-edged sword, after all. Nevertheless, Number Five went to the initiation – how could she not? It was all she had in her life. Still, her grief and rage at something that was a perceived betrayal after all those years of dedication and hard work and blood on her hands for the glory of the cult were heavy on her mind. So when she was etched with poisonous ink and sat between the censers spewing heavy, soporific smoke and someone asked her to close her eyes and abandon herself, she did unexpected: she refused. Golden threads swirled around her form and etched themselves into her skin, crisscrossing every inch of her skin in the lattice of the most beautiful ornament she had ever seen. She felt the burning power swelling inside her and purging traces of poisons inside her. Something blossomed inside her mind – and she remembered everything. Everything taken from her by the time, by the drugs, by the things they did to her to make her forget. Many people died that day. She wandered the world for some time. Made few friends, a lot more enemies(not many of which are under the sun by now) even some money to her name. Learned a lot of new things, too, some new tricks and edges with her weapon, new ways to survive, broadened her perspective on the life. Apparently, in this world someone with her abilities was a valuable commodity, and she would not go without a roof over her head or a food on the table if only she wanted to market her skills, her experience and, more importantly, her Noble Arm to the right people. There were, however, some things that would greatly improve her lot and make it more pleasant: allies, reputation contacts in the various power structures….accreditation as an Arms Master, since that would lift the stage of proving her worth in a lot of cases. Most of that could be gained by completing the courses in one of the specialized schools for Noble Arms wielders. After that it was only a matter of choosing one that was easier to get into – that school in the Philippines took damn near anyone, and scholarship options for the refugees(she even got an ID under the name of Gloria) were good enough for her. If she could find some actual friends along the way? Even better – it’s sometimes lonely and boring to wander alone.
*Current Goal: None aside from "acquire more resuources and maybe find some friends".
