To most of the world, the Ishinomori Academy is simply a perfectly normal, if exclusive boarding school in the perfectly normal town of Asagata. However, this couldn't be much further from the truth. The Academy's student body is made up entirely of transforming superheroes, and the curriculum reflects this. In addition to standard subjects, students study to improve their effectiveness against the forces of evil. The town itself plays an important role in the Academy's unique goals, having been built in what is quite possibly the single worst location on the planet.

To elaborate, the town is located near a haunted Sengoku era battlefield, with an island of animals mutated into sapient humanoids (who believe their rapid evolution to be a sign of their superiority and right to rule over mankind) by less than ethical experiments by a local laboratory and to top it all off, a series of caves further inland seem to serve as a portal to Hell. Normally, this would be grounds for everyone to pack their bags and leave, not to mention making an awful environment to educate children. However, the Academy serves to keep the townspeople safe while using these assorted threats to aid in training the heroes of tomorrow, teaching them the value of teamwork, as well as how to adapt to a variety of foes.

While many of the Academy's students are recruited after being chosen by a deity, finding artifacts of ancient super-science or otherwise gaining their heroic identity, there are rare instances where people are scouted for particularly impressive acts of courage. These students are gifted devices from the Academy's research teams to allow them to transform. However, just because someone is approached by the Academy's representatives doesn't mean they have to attend, in the end the choice lies with them and their families.

So, this RP will follow the students of a school for magical girls/boys and tokusatsu-style heroes in the fictional Japanese town of Asagata through a perfectly normal school year where nothing will go wrong, honest. The RP is intended to be light-hearted and comedic for the most part, although there will be serious moments in the plot. That said, it should still have the potential to come back to comedy after those events.

That looks fine for the most part. There is one thing I feel the need to point out though. Some translation sites, when they see words that don't exist in Japanese, will essentially do what the Japanese would do for those words. Which is to say, they'll spell them out in katakana, an alphabet generally used for loanwords. This is generally accompanied by something written in the English alphabet, which isn't a translation per se, just a phonetic pronunciation of the katakana version of what you wrote. You've more or less written "Runelight Dancer (Runelight Dancer)" for his hero name, just with an accent for the first one.

The parentheses was the translation, I can remove it but I only did it so that people would know what the name meant.

There's not really anything to translate. The "Japanese" name there is just how someone from Japan would pronounce the English name because of their accent.

Okay, so, I'm going to spell this out.

That first part is not Japanese. It is how someone in Japan, if you pressed a gun to their head and asked them to say "Rune Light Dancer" in English, would say "Rune Light Dancer." It is the words "Runelight Dancer." Not a Japanese equivalent.

Isn't it a bit of a Light - Raito discussion?

Romanji spelling is legitimate, in my opinion.

On a side note: Hi! I'm interested in the RP.

Honestly, if the characters were Japanese people in an English-speaking country and they weren't fluent, I'd get a bit of Engrish being thrown in, but that's not the case here. This is set in Japan, things are going to either be written in Japanese or in English. The former preferably just in the case of proper nouns. I'm fine with hero names being Japanese, but if it's just going to be English words written as if they're being said with a Japanese accent, it should be written in English.

Well, my argument is more that 『ルーンライトダンサー』 is how it would literally be written if there was a character called Runelight Dancer in Japanese media.

Either way, I still have to decide what I will be going for in my CS. On one side a true magical girl is something I have been looking for since this year is the 50th anniversary of Sally The Witch (First magical girl show). On the other side, the whole set up is very cool for something more religion based (inspired by Yuki Yuna and exorcist anime in general perhaps).

Name: Midori Kawamura

Age: 15

Appearance

tse1.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.Ma86a83f92f..

Her transformed costume consists of blue boots, a blue knee length skirt, blue top, white cape, and a tiara with a large sapphire on it. She also carries a bow, but no quiver or arrows.

Personality: Midori's defining trait is, well... she's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Many people have made jokes about butterflies or flashlight beams going right through her head, but the truth is, she's just not book smart. Socially (and especially in a fight), she really knows what she's doing.

Heroine Name: Zephyr Blue

Abilities: Midori has a wide range of abilities, all centered around her power of aerokinesis (wind control)
Gust Shot: Her basic attack is a short, sharp gust of wind.
Vortex Blast: A massively upgraded version of Gust Shot, Midori has to plant her feet to brace herself and concentrates all the air around between her hands before releasing it in a tornado-strength assault. This attack takes some time to charge up, and collateral damage is a "how much", not an "if".
Aerial Arrow: Midori conjures a blue arrow of solid air on her bowstring, then draws and fires.
Aerial Arrow Annihilation: Starts off like the normal Aerial Arrow, but Midori fires straight up. The arrow splits into a dozen identical copies, which then rain down on foes. Great for destroying a horde of mooks, but very draining.
Hurricane Shield: Midori's only defensive ability creates swirling wind around her to blow away projectile attacks. Does nothing against magical or melee attacks.
Flight: Like any self-respecting magical girl, Midori can fly, sitting on her bow and using the winds to propel her.

Skills: Midori doesn't have much in the way of mundane skills, but she's a very good painter. She's also beginning judo training, to make her a better fighter if something strips her of her magic.

History: Midori started out life as a plain-Jane girl from Tokyo. She just spent her days hanging out with friends and occasionally working on a new painting. One day, she went to a local jewelry store, buying a silver ring with a fake sapphire on it. What she didn't know (and still doesn't) is that the ring is property of Fujin, and contains a portion of his power.

When she got home and put the ring on her finger to admire it in the mirror, there was a mighty gust of wind and Midori, to her amazement, found herself in a full-blown superhero costume. After that, it was only a matter of time before she got a letter from Ishinomori in the mail.

Other: She's only had her powers for a month now, but she's been experimenting with them and thinking about how she'd use them if push ever came to shove.

She does have one friend named Sakura who knows her secret identity, having managed to catch her transformed once. Midori's promised to call once a week.

She looks good. My only issue is her age might be a bit low, I was thinking more 15-18.

Hmm, I really need to work out a character for this, but I can't decide what I want to do.
