Matt was still taking care of Robert who was in really rough shape. He had a few broken ribs, a broken nose, concussion, multiple contusions and a couple of broken and missing teeth. He had not seen Kat since he got back. He hadn't been able to leave Robert. Matt was unsure how much damage he had taken internally. There was a real possibility that he might have a partially collapsed lung. Matt got on the radio and called her. "Kat? Could you come to the medical room please?" He wanted to say more but he knew that there were a lot of people on walkie here and didn't want to get too personal.

When she responded he smiled and when she showed up he picked up Gracie and kissed her and pulled Kat into a tight hug and kissed her thoroughly. "Kat baby, I love you and I'm thrilled about the pregnancy. I know you weren't happy that I had to go but there was no way that I could in any good conscious let Nikki go without me when this started because of what I did. I am afraid that at some point in this world I WILL lose it again. I couldn't handle it if anyone threatened you or our children and I would kill anyone who tried to hurt any of you. I know you don't want to hear that but it's who I am and the military brought that part of me out in the open." Matt kissed his wife passionately with Gracie in the middle. She squealed and started pulling on Matt's hair.

Kyles eyes went wide, mouth formed into a huge grin, and he started to talk really amped up.

"Well I am really into living, you know. And I'm trying to keep it that way. I mean one day at a time, living in the moment. If I had to say I'm passionate about something, man do I love not being chow food for some fucked up dead people, but you know like passionately. I would also say I'm passionate about keeping all my limbs. I hate to say it but if I lost an arm or leg it would really mes me up.

Kyle looked up at the sky.

"Honestly I'm not very interesting. I'm a regular joe that likes to smoke regular things out of regular things. Before the world went to shit I was a nobody and I'm a nobody now. Which I'm not complaining about, being a nobody means you can come and go as you please. I have been mostly by myself. I had a brother, a dad, a mom, a best friend, a guy that was like my father.....but they all died. Different ways every one of them. I guess you could also say I'm pretty passionate about keeping others alive too,"

Kyle looked back at Nikki, then kicked back and laid down.

Nikki chuckled "Life is a good thing to be passionate about. I'm rather fond of it myself." Nikki laid down next to him with her head on his shoulder and started yawning. "I'm sorry your first day here was so crazy. Now you see why I said that I'm worried about getting to have the normal things that used to be taken for granted. I want a family, and love and I'm afraid that I won't find it now..." She pulled the blanket up to her neck and covered them both completely. Nikki smiled as she said murmured sleepily "I love that you make me laugh." She was perfectly content to sleep in Kyle's arms until the rain started and woke them both up. It was a cold rain and Nikki grabbed the blanket and Kyle's hand. "Come on, it's freezing!"

Once the door was locked and they ran back to her room. Nikki shut the door and began stripping off her wet clothing. She faced away from Kyle but stripped down to her panties and pulled out her long t-shirt to sleep in. She turned around and looked at him. "Take those off you are going to get sick." She climbed into the bed and told him to hurry and patted the bed next to her. "Come on, I like sleeping on you."

"Well......I guess sometimes Jesus does take the wheel,"Kyle said wide eyed at Nikki."I mean yea sure no yea I'm down. I'm down like the sickness."

kyle began taking off his shirt and pants, exposing the wounds all over his chest and back. Some look like gunshot wounds, others look like knife wounds, and some look like marks made by.....something not human. Kyle dropped his wet clothes at the bottom of the bed. Then Kyle walked over and got into the bed next to Nikki. He laid down on his back and closed his eyes.


And holy shit is this bed comfortable. Like seriously there is no way you actually sleep in this thing every night?

Kyle looked at Nikki and smiled.

Kat got the call to come to medical. Swallowing hard, she picked up Gracie and went. It was nerve-racking. What if he was pissed? Now was not really the time to be getting pregnant, what with hell outside the door. And the fears from the last pregnancy were kicking in, only more pronounced now.
What if something went wrong? What if she lost it? Stress could cause miscarriages and they led the most stressful life imaginable. What if it needed stuff that they didn't have? What if Gracie hated having to share attention? Would they have enough food with yet another mouth to feed?

When they arrived Gracie squealed and reached for Matt to give him a loud messy kiss. Kat lost her breath for a moment when he suddenly kissed her so thoroughly.
"Matt it's not you losing it on others that I am worried about," Kat reminded him. "It's the possible potential of you losing it on us, your family, your wife or your child... or children. I don't want you to lose it with Gracie caught in the crossfire."
She hugged Matt tight. For everyone else she had to be the strong momma. But here, with him, she could share her fears.
"I'm terrified Matt," she murmured. "What if I lose it? What if something happens?"

Vincent McGarth

The soft ticking of the clock filled the room as Vincent sat in his chair. The constant ticking was annoying but so was the slowly growing darkness in his heart from years long since past. He knew that Nikki was right. It never truly disappeared. The feeling had been caged up. No, more like buried deep inside waiting for the day it was slowly slither out from its hidden spot and grow. The man leaned to the right, his eyes looking across the room in the darkness at some invisible friend, before leaning to the left. His thoughts filled his mind as the rain slowly pattered upon the roof. Sounds of distant thunder crashed from what sounded like the South as a familiar lullaby was quietly hummed inside the room.

Nails scraping against the door cause the man to flicker his cold dead eyes toward the door. There was a reason he had chosen this spot. The house set on the outskirts of the slowly growing trailer park, which made planning and gaining members easier, the second was because there were signs that people stopped here first. That was until they were slaughtered Walkers. The scratching continued forcing the man's temper to flare before a distant gunshot from the West echoed through the air, making him wonder if the people inside the school could hear. If they didn't it was only a matter of time before they find fresh bodies at their door steps but if they did check it out then some of his men would be waiting.

DAY 41 10pm

Matthew Hyatt

Matt kissed her thoroughly and chuckled deeply. "Baby, I could never harm you or our children. You are the air I breathe and there is nothing that could change that." Matt hugged her tightly and whispered something into her ear that made her blush. "The baby will be fine and so will you and so will our family. I'll make sure of it." Gracie gave her daddy a sloppy wet kiss and giggled.

"Kat, Robert was hurt pretty badly. I'll have to stay here with him tonight but I wanted to see you and tell you that I love you and I couldn't be happier about the baby." He hugged both of his girls and watched them as they went upstairs.

Nikki Hyatt

Nikki saw his back and asked "What happened to your back? It looks like you have been through a war or something." She pushed him onto his side so she could see better. Softly running her hands over the scars she could imagine the pain he had gone through. After realizing there was more to her new beau than she had realized she pulled him back over and she lay in the crook of his arm and lay her arm over his waist. She put her head up against his chest and listened to the steady beats of his heart. She smiled and hoped that things would get easier than they had been lately.

Somewhere in the back of her mind Vincent crept into her thoughts and she shuddered involuntarily.

Kyle shifted his weight, and sighed.

"Well a few of these are from rescuing damsels in distress,"Kyle said playfully,"And some of these were from the beatins ol pa gave us on the farm I done did tell ya,"Kyle said with a country accent.

Kyle smiled softly and wrapped his arm around Nikki. He felt her shudder slightly. But Kyle ignored it mostly. He figured since she was alright with most of what was happening with them, it must be something else. But he wasn't going to pry. Kyle figured he shoudltn make anything weird at the moment. Kyle closed his eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

Nikki slept well for the first time in weeks. She felt safe with Kyle and she cuddled up with him. She knew she just met him and she needed to wait a while before they got too close but she liked sleeping in his arms and decided that would suffice for a while. She needed to get her head on straight, not jump too fast this time. Nikki had decided they would get to know each other really well before they had sex.

Something was eating at her and she couldn't quite place it. She shrugged her shoulders and closed her eyes as she cuddled with Kyle.

Kyle opened his eyes and felt a weight on his body. He opened his eyes and saw Nikki, wrapped around him sleeping still. Kyle turned his head and saw light from the sun pouring into the room. Kyle gently removed himself from Nikkis embrace and got out of bed. Kyle put his clothes on and quietly left the room.

Kyle walked out of the room, down the halls, until he was outside. Kyle walked until he found the front of the school, where he proceeded to exit the school grounds. A few walkers were left roaming aroind the school, but none were in great shape. Kyle watched them as they moved, and after a few moments they began to notice him. As the walkers began moving in his direction Kyle started to walk around the school, slow enough for the walkers to keep on him but not fast enough to get bit. Kyle pitied the walkers that followed him.

"Yall some poor SOB's you know. You walkers didn't want to be walkers you just.......are."

Kyle picked up a stick and poked any walkers that got too close.

"Ha....killing things, saving people.....the family business....not anymore. Not since the friggin apocalypse. Awesome."

Day 42 7:30am

Nikki Hyatt

Nikki woke up to find Kyle gone. She frowned a little. Where did he go and why? She quickly got dressed and one of the guards said "Nikki? That new guy is messing with a bunch of walkers outside of the fence." Nikki grabbed her coat and sword and ran outside. She watched as she walked towards the fence. He wasn't in any real danger but why was he messing with them?

"Kyle? What are you doing?" Nikki asked him calmly. What she really wanted to know was why he would leave her bed to mess with walkers. True they had not had sex but there is a certain amount of closeness you get from sleeping next to someone or halfway on top of them.

Kyle looked up to the sound of Nikki's voice. kyle bucked up, and put on his smile. Kyle walked over to the opposite side of the fence of where Nikki was, poking and slapping away Walkers.

"Hey you. Good morning, how did you sleep? I slept some but I was just so anxious I had to go find a mighty dragon to slay/ All I found though were these ass clowns,"Kyle said pointing at and poking another walker with his stick,"And let me tell you I don't get much XP from them. Cant level up at all this way."

As Kyle spoke a walker had escaped his notice and had crept up behind him. Well not really crept but you get it. The walker lunged forward, grabbing Kyle almost biting him. Kyle gave a small yelp and threw himself backwards, on top of the walker. He head butted the walker with the back of his head, and got up quickly. Kyle Gave a great sigh then stabbed the walker in the head with his stick. Kyle felt the walkers blood on his face as it flew up but it missed entering him. Kyle started swinging his stick, making the walkers bounce backwards until he was clear. Kyle caught his breath then flashed Nikki a smile.

"Isnt it a beautiful morning!"

Nikki jumped the fence and decapitated the group approaching them. "Kyle? Are you crazy? You did tell me you weren't didn't you? I thought I asked that." Nikki beheaded another one and sent it sprawling. She really wasn't sure she could handle another crazed boyfriend, her record was not getting better yet. "Can you please get back inside the fence?" She looked at him and at the slowly wandering dead and she spun around as they closed in on her and she took out several at once as heads went flying. The closest one to Kyle Nikki impaled and tore in half. It still kept crawling and she stuck her sword into the back of it's head.

Kyle climbed over the fence, flipping at the top and landing on his feet, giving a small bow. Nikki followed in suite. Kyle saw the look on Nikki's voice and heard her words. Kyle put a hand in his pocket and a hand behind his head.

"Wait look ok I'm sorry for worrying you. I was just kidding about that dragon crap and stuff. It wasn't anything dangerous that I was doing. I was just taking a walk. It is a beautiful morning and I refuse to let the walkers ruin that kind of stuff for me."

Kyle looked at Nikki in the eyes with a strange serious look.

"We cant let the undead determine hw the living live their life. Before all of this I would go for walks in the morning all the time, to clear my head. I don't know if you noticed but I'm relatively new here and ive already been involved in what seemed like basically a grudge match between two rival survival camps. I am not sure what the drama is there and too be fair I don't want to know. Its none of my business. But with that and the fact that every day could be my last, I realized a long time ago that we should..well not do whatever we want but live our lives to the fullest, and be prepared for it. But I'm sorry for worrying you Nikki."

Kyle took a step forward and held out his arms, offering a hug to Nikki who was free to refuse his apology or accept it.

Nikki looked at him and sighed. "I wish I could look at it like that but if I do people die." She walked into his arms and said to him, "Not everyone who wants to take a walk can handle themselves Kyle. I have to tell them to walk around the grounds but stay inside the fences. They count on my fighting abilities and will to fight for them to keep them alive." She realized she hadn't spoken with Camy yet. "Speaking of...I owe Camy a discussion about leaving the grounds without permission."

Nikki snuggled into his arms a moment and then she pulled back and asked him "Please, please don't make me worry about you too. I have enough trouble keeping the teenagers inside. Rebelliousness is not appreciated during the zombie apocalypse." She reached up and kissed him lightly and headed back inside. She wasn't feeling very well and she just wanted to sleep a little more but she went inside and went to check on Robert.

Clara Moon

Clara was exhausted as she drove up the road towards the school. Her eyes glanced over, noting that the man seemed fast asleep, but then again he could have been faking the whole thing. She rubbed her eyes and shook her head clear as a Walker walked into the road in order to get the people's lives only to be clipped by the side mirror. ” Oops. I would say that was on purpose and take credit for it but that would just wouldn't be that much fun.” she stated with obvious disappointed inside her voice. The girl looked towards the man which hadn't seemed to moved yet. ” I was expecting a little more fun. Maybe a screaming match this morning but each their own.” the teenager stated as the school gates where coming into view.

As she came closer a sly smile slithered upon her lips. The only people who seemed to be there was the guards and Kyle making sneaking inside the school easier. The was what the darker half thought until the guy raised their guns. “ Who goes there?” She shook her head and scoffed. ” Where was this when I snuck out yesterday? You guys are just plain out sad. I hope Nikki throws your asses out with the walkers.” she huffed while getting out of the car. “Clara? Man are you in trouble. Hope and pray that you don't see Nikki anytime soon.” ” Yeah? Well our fearless leader forgot someone last night. Forgot someone last night. Find him on a road inside of town so why don't y'all call Matt up here and allow me to pass?”

The man shook his head. “ You're not getting off that easy. Go on in.” He said allowing the two inside. The teenager stuck her tongue out of the man as he radioed Matt to come outside. She pulled up towards the front of the school and watched Haru rush out. He looked over Alex then looked over towards Clara. ” Man you have really have bad timing. You're lucky Nikki went to scold Camy or else you would have gotten yelled at.” the girl shook her head. ” Like I care right now. I'm tired and exhausted. I was up the whole time running around looking for him that way Erin wouldn't think he left her again. Seems like a few smoldered embers have rekindled inside the girl's heart.” the young man just shook his head and helped Alex out of the car. All three walked towards the door and was let inside by James and continued to the medical room. The guys went inside first as the darker half walked past the doorway like nothing had happened.

Vincent was waiting at the camp's entrance as a woman slowly crept up behind him. Her hands slowly shifted towards his waist before attempting to go lower than they should have. This caused the guy to shift away and turn to face her, placing a hand underneath her chin in order to force her to look at him, as a wicked smile slowly working its way across his lips. ” Now love I said we can play later yet here you are trying to make me play now. When I said later I mean later and not right now. Now get out of my sight until you're called.” the man snarled as he seemed to rip his hand away.

She seemed to get the hint she wasn't wanted as her figure lowered and walked away towards camp. The leader shook his head before returning his gaze at the entrance once more. The girl was good to use just to pass the time with but lately she had become rather greedy which annoyed him to death. Then again the woman wasn't the woman he truly wanted at his side. The leader missed Nikki's presence as well as Erin's. Hopefully that would change before winter set in then again no one could really expect things to become better by then. The mobster's eyes seemed to drift away until a tapping on his shoulder brought him back to the present. Vincent turned towards the person only to see Raven point to the newly arriving men, clearing the guys thoughts almost completely, as a frown worked to replace the wicked smile. Disappointment showed inside his eyes as the men worked their way to the two.

“ We were attacked by another group boss. Mason was torn to shreds, Eddie was bitten not to long ago, Jackson is missing so I can only assume he ran off like a coward, and Harry was the one who sold our position to the group just to save his own skin. I'm betting the slimeball will calm back later to ask for forgiveness.” Josh said in a sour tone. ” Did you leave the truck and a canister of gas? Or did you sell it off to another group in order to betray our family like Harry did?” he asked as his sister placed a knife inside his hand. “No sir. We left the truck as ordered” ” Good. Place him inside the cage until he fully turns then put the new Walker into the lit with the others. After we gather a few more I'll have Matt come here and have him meet our new friends.” everything was slowly coming together.[b][i] I mean later and not right now.[/b][/i] Now get out of my sight until you're called.”[/color] the man snarled as he seemed to rip his hand away.

Nikki went into medical and looked at Matt who gave her a once over. "You look like hell are you getting sick?" Nikki shrugged her shoulders "I think so, I feel like shit and I just want to sleep. Big brother can you talk to Camy about leaving the grounds and handle things? I feel horrible. I need sleep." Without waiting for an answer Nikki went to leave and passed out on the floor. "NIKKI!" Matt caught her just before her head would have hit the ground.

Matt picked his sister up and laid her on one of the tables. He drew some blood and checked her temperature. After a few minutes he realized that she was sleeping he opened her door and carried her in there removed her weapons and boots and tucked her into her bed. Matt tested the blood and when the results came in he visibly blanched and he turned and shoved his fist through the cabinet door closest to him. "Ah Fuck!"

Matt was officially in a pissed off mood. He spotted Camyllia and said "Do you see why Nikki doesn't want you leaving the grounds without permission now?" The girl was about to say something and he said "No! You don't do it got it? It's dangerous out there and it's not just walkers that are your biggest danger it's the living people that are much more likely to kill and or torture you and whomever is with you." He didn't wait for the girl to say anything he went to see what the guards were going on about.

Matt saw Clara and he stopped and begged for patience so he wouldn't lose his temper with her. "Clara, you either live here or you don't. You have to follow the rules or you won't be allowed back in. Nikki can't be chasing after you anymore you are close enough to adulthood and since she is preg-....nevermind she is just not going to do it again."

Matt was so distracted it didn't even occur to him who he just accidentally told something very important to and the repercussions it would have. All that he could think of was that Nikki was pregnant with Vincent's baby. That was going to be a HUGE problem.

Camyllia

Camyllia remained quiet when walked away. She kept her mouth shut as she made her way over to the nurse's office. She didn't bother knocking she just enter and went to the man. She felt more and more tears build up as she got closer to the man. Camyllia lightly holds his hand.

"I'm sorry.." She whispers,"I really am."

"Camy?" Oppal's voice made the girl look to him and force a smile on her face.

"Hey, bud. I thought ya were still sleepin'?" Camyllia says going towards the boy so he doesn't have to see the wounded man.

"No. I heard yelling...was it Matt?" Oppal asks as Camyllia picked him up.

"Yeah, but only because he was mad at me." Camyllia says walking out.

"He shood not have though!" The little boy says crossing his arms looking like he was about to cry.

"'Ey, I can't blame 'im bud. I did somethin' wrong I have to face the thangs that come with it." Camyllia says,"Now lets get ya some food. Bet you gotta be hungry by now."

"..Yeah." Oppal replies leaning on Camyllia.
