Jinx

Jinx had a scale for unexpected situations. He liked to call it the Inspector Jones scale.

This was a solid 'Inspector Jones was the statue the whole time' on that scale. About as high as the scale went, unless one counted the never-happened/never happening 'Inspector Jones just kissed me" category. Okay.

Seriously. There wasn't alot Jinx wouldn't do-but seriously what kind of utter **** did someone have to be to do that to a cripple?

Let alone one with a cane, nice locks, and a freaking stylish long coat. Probably a doc' or something by the looks of it. Normally a pretty inoffensive type. Expect when they were consulting with the cops. Then they were dangerous.

He didn't fight cripples. He didn't assault cripples. It just didn't end well-you won, and well, you just beat up a cripple you jerk. You lose, and you just lost to a cripple you sadsack. It was a no-profit venture.

Also left a bad taste in his mouth.

So his next actions were more or less automatic. Jinx was on his knees in a second, and leaning over the assaulted man in the next. "It's alright."

There was only a slight bit of his normal vinegar and spite accent in his voice when he spoke. "I can call the hospital if you want. Dunno how close they are, uh, the next closest thing is the Poke Center and I don't think they do people."

Jinx paused. Not sure what else to say. Comforting people wasn't his thing. Honing in on their weaknesses and needling them mercilessly, yes. Comfort? No.

He summed up the situation succiently.

"****."

Pent Faraday
Shinon the Lucario, Aenir the Froslass, Jill the Skarmory
[Viore International Airport]

@Ophidian
"...os...p..tal.." It had only been a few moments of intense pain shooting through his leg, but it was enough to set him over the edge. His body started to react; his skin grew cold and pallid, and he was beginning to fall out of consciousness.

Scrambling over to his belt, the Lucario poked one of the attached Pokéballs, flooding the immediate area in white light. A Froslass materialized, with her Trainer whimpering in agony before her. <PENT!?> Floating over to him, she then noticed the man was out cold. Dead? No, thankfully, but certainly not in any position to do much of anything.

Both Aenir the Froslass and Shinon the Lucario went up to Jinx, flailing wildly at him. Shinon spoke up, <I beg of you, help him!>

The distinct blue aura of [PSYCHIC] overtook Pent's form as Aenir attempted to carry him. Floating up to Jinx at eye-level, she waved her ribbon-like arms, and let out a few whimper-like cries, <Please! Please you must show me the hospital. Or somewhere, I don't know how much longer he'll last...>

Monday Mallory

Monday rolled her eyes as some tired, obnoxiously serious old man stepped up to give a lecture on the merits of dragonite. She rolled her eyes and picked at her nose, giving off the most powerful "I don't give a shit" vibes she could manage. Seriously, these people were all ridiculous. She didn't see why she should care if dragonite were powerful or versatile or whatever; in the end it was all the trainer's skill and the pokemon's experience that decided a battle. Or... so Fantina had said.

"I saw you giving leer back there. Do you have problem?"

A familiar voice snapped her back into her rage mode. Her hair swung out dramatically as she whipped around to look for the source... and there he was. That sweaty, dirty, arrogant little shit that had insulted her before. Her hands balled into fists as she approached him, one hundred percent ready for a down and dirty bare-knuckles brawl.

Then she spotted the man her target was talking to. He was tall, rich-looking, and most of all, attractive in an effeminate sort of way. Everything about him screamed Pokemon Coordinator. Great. Just great. And the flamboyant bastard was already starting on some inane bullshit about fashion to the overdressed punk she'd been targeting.

Monday certainly didn't like the kid in the winter wear, but she wouldn't wish a Coordinator on anyone. Steeling herself, she waltzed up to him and threw an arm over his shoulder.

"Wow that sounds suuuuper interesting," she interrupted, addressing the Coordinator. It was obvious she didn't actually find it interesting at all. "But uh... me and my buddy here need to get going. Isn't that right, pal?" Her grip around the kid's shoulder tightened. Lowering her voice to a level not even she had known was possible for her, she addressed him with total seriousness.

"If you let a guy like this get started he'll never shut up. I'm doing you a huge favor here so just play along for like two minutes and then you'll never have to see him or me again, got it?"

Meanwhile, Asystole turned from the dragonite to the snover. <Well... she's perfectly good to me, but her common sense is a little, well, lacking. So we lose a lot. And--> The duskull stopped short as she caught sight of Monday's arm around another trainer. <Oh dear, you'll have to excuse me. She'd better not be picking another fight!> With a hurried bow to the other two pokemon, she floated nervously to Monday's side and hovered by her shoulder.

Lily Meadows and Brent Ignia
[New Amber Town = Maple Pokemon Lab]

The group walked into the now almost empty lobby of the lab. Near the back was a young man packing a large backpack. "Yes, yes, one moment please. Oh this time of year, new trainers coming left and right..." He said, his attention completely on the task ahead of him. Brent's father shrugged. "Too busy to say a proper hello these days, Edward?" The man stopped and turned, a smile coming across his face. "Ah, Leon, it's about time you showed up! And... no way, is that Brent?"

Brent stepped forward and waved. "It's been a long time, I think. I'm finally ready to start my journey today!" The Professor's smile widened. "Wonderful! It's great when I can see fresh trainers off on their first journey, something that can shape their lives forever... oh, and what about you? You wouldn't be his sister would you?" He asked, looking at Lily.

"Oh, no no no no no. My name's Lily, Lily Meadows. I just flew in from Johto and kinda bumped into them, so I came with them here." The young professor nodded. "Ah, I see then. Judging by your age, you'll be going on your first journey as well, correct?" Lily nodded. "I would have gone through Johto, but this place seemed full of way more adventure and mystery."

The Professor beamed. "Ah, and right you were. So many ancient secrets that remain hidden across Viore, endless journeys and mysteries are abundant here! But I don't want to yammer. Leon, you should head back to the trucks, we'll be leaving any minute now. I'll return in a moment with your Pokedex's." The Professor vanished into a back room, with Brent's father following behind. "Good luck on your Journey, Brent. You too, Lily." Then he too disappeared behind the doors.

It had been a long time since he'd been here... it seems things never change. Trainer after trainer stepped out of the airport, heading which ever way they went. Although the nostalgia was refreshing, he wasn't there for sightseeing. Times were changing again, things were becoming more dangerous. It seemed like everything was fine here, so he headed over to the Pokemon Center.

That's when things got interesting. There was a growing group of trainers gathering just outside the Pokemon Center. Arguments were beginning to arise. It seemed to be between several different groups, concocted of veteran and fresh trainers. One girl looked like she was ready for the military than being a trainer, but clearly had no clue how to BE a trainer.

Another looked to be a Coordinator, he never really understood the appeal of contests during his journey, but to each his own. An older trainer with a Blaziken had caught his attention, he carried a Keystone. Interesting... There was another boy, a year or two older than him. He had a collection of Pokemon with him. A quite clearly upstart brat of a girl was near the center of the arguments. Then there was a boy who looked like he was ready for the blizzard of the century, and a girl who, dispite her age, had a Dragonite with her.

He was confused at first, but listened carefully to the ensuing conversations. The girl in uniform caught his attention the most. "Excuse me, but I can tell you're quite confused about being a trainer." He walked through the group, eventually facing her. "There's nothing set in stone about the best way to train your Pokemon, to bond with them. It's all about the path you take, the experiences you share together as partners. The path is long and difficult, and only you will know what the right path is."

He turned to the rest of the group around him. "Now, let's not have so much arguing. When trainers meet, they become friends and rivals. The goal isn't to become enemies. Let the town keep its peaceful demeanor at least." He said all of this with the air of a veteran, experienced trainer. A glimmer of sunlight glanced off his Mega Ring Keystone on his finger, a full set of six Pokeballs glimmering on his belt. "If all else fails, why not have battles with one another? I find there's no better way to learn about a person, one on one to make it completely fair."

Sergei Samsonov

New Amber Town
@void liege@ninian@experiment 249@Shiny Keldeo

Sergei blinked a couple of times, just staring a bit confusedly at this Leopold fellow. He honestly had no idea what this man was talking about. Fashion genius? Had this been about his clothes? Sergei had to admit, he had never given much thought to his clothes, except for the hat which was just something he held near to him for no real good reason. Acting? Did he think Sergei was putting on an act? The Snowpointian panicked a little in his head, was this guy trying to tell him that Sergei was overcompensating for something? The immediate reaction was more anger, as this seemed like the work of some body subtly messing with Sergei. But he stopped himself, maybe this guy was just a bit of an eccentric. There were more than a handful of them up in northern Sinnoh. He had settled on the courteous approach, but before Sergei could even think to introduce himself, he felt a hand slam down on his shoulder.

It was the rude girl from before. She spouted something about how the two of them needed to get going, and then whispered in his ear about how she was doing this as a favor to Sergei. As if he believed that for a moment seeing how she had acted before. That iron grip not doing her any favors either. However, there were options to be weighed, Sergei could either sit here talking to Leopold for god knows how long, or leave now and possibly never see anyone here again. Given the option of groups or no groups, it should be obvious which one Sergei was going with.

"Yes, yes! I am so sorry for interruption. It was all big misunderstanding, I thought you were much angrier than you actually seem." Sergei shook the Duskull girl's hand off his shoulder, and reached out to offer a courteous handshake. No reason to leave on too sour of a note. "I am Sergei. Sergei Samsonov. But my friend is uh. Right. We should leave."

That's when yet another man arrived on the scene. This one a veteran, easily recognizable by the six polished Pokeballs gleaming on his belt, not to mention the way which he talked. It had the hint of arrogance that inspired both awe and a bit of loathing in Sergei. He said a few words about how trainers should meet to become friends, or rivals, but not enemies. Sergei shrugged it off, philosophical differences he supposed as he wasn't buying it. Not only that but he swore the man, like most others, give a confused glance at his outfit. Sergei had to admit he was sweating like a pig at this point. He hadn't counted on being outside for this long. He wiped off his face with his hands, though it didn't do much good in terms of keeping himself cool.

Moroza however, was feeling just fine in the weather. She laughed a bit at the Dragonite's concern <I wouldn't worry. I think he's feeling the heat, but the guy is tough as nails. He'll take it off when he needs to.> The winter Pokemon just sort of shrugged, <Fights, fights, fights. Sometimes I wonder who are the more volatile ones, the trainers or the Pokemon? The new guy has the right idea over here. We should have a big battle! Been too long since I've been in a good scrap.

Sergei however, had no will to stick around for much longer. He adjusted his unshanka, and began to take off his coat. As if coincidentally on cue with his Pokemon's point. "I don't know about you all but I am ready to start being a trainer here." He started, not loudly enough to be addressed to the group, but not really to anyone in particular either. "For that. I need a new Pokedex, so I am off to go find where that may be. At this lab right? Moroza are you ready to go?" The Snover gave a quick hop in affirmation.

Celes Elwyn and Nasir the Zoroark
Celes' Party - Ranulf the Dragonite, Mist the Dratini
[New Amber Town - Outside the Pokémon Center]

@Zardoric@Leoven@void liege@Uccello@Light Lord@Experiment 249@Shiny Keldeo

The words 'Aster is female' reached Celes' ear. A wide grin overtook the small girl, but she was far too distracted by everything else to actually reply to it. So, with that information, she stashed it in the back of her mind.

Devon, the young but fairly advanced Trainer's Pokémon began to crowd around Ranulf. Looking down at him all, his face flushed a bright pink. <We're the 'coolest thing to humans?' Hm, I mean I guess I could see that. Well, that explains that.> The Dragon-type's gaze panned to the Monferno,<You're quite correct, Celes and I are from Blackthorn City. Aside from the humans there, I don't have all that much contact with others.>

In response to Devon, Celes spun on her heels, "You've never seen a Dragonite beforrre!? Ohhhh, yeah they're SUPER huuuuge. Like um, I think someone said they're like seven feet or something tall. I'm like fourrrrr. ANYWAY, it's nice to meet you, Devon! Ya um, if getting a Pokédex is what we need to do, then I'm totally for it. Oh ummm, Ranulf also told me to find like some Trainers to travel with too since it's safer. I dunno if you want to do that, or whatever. Ranulf isn't my Pokémon, actually I just have one and it's a Dratini. She's really sweet and everything, but Mist isn't very strong. So um... yeah I mean, Ranulf IS strong, so I guess traveling with him is safe and everything, but um..." Blinking a few times she smiled somewhat, "Sorrrry I'm a bit excited. Did you and Mr. Black there want to travel with me?"

Raising a brow at the girl's words, Nasir spoke up, "...Mr. Black? I assume you mean me. I'm Nasir, it's a pleasure to meet you Celes, and you as well Ranulf."

Celes grinned at the black-haired man, "Naaaasiirrrrr! Cool name! Cool clothes too, it's very Ec-ru-teakkk."

Bowing, the Dragonite replied to the man as well, <Please do not mind Celes, she's a bit over excited. If you both decided to travel with us, I'm certain Celes will learn quite a bit.>

At the Duskull's words, Ranulf's eyes fell on the crimson female. <Perfectly good to you? Wow, I find that hard to believe, but I'm happy for you I guess? Anyway, you should probably—> Blinking he cocked his head, thinking to himself, And she's gone. Have I been talking to myself this entire time?

The most advanced Trainer yet showed, up, and Nasir's eyes immediately fell to him. He spoke about how to bond with your Pokémon, and how apparently the best way to learn about another is through a Pokémon battle. Turning his gaze upon his Trainer, the disguised Zoroark spoke softly. "Whatever you wish to do, Devon. I am here for you. If you would like to head to the laboratory with Celes so that we may start our journey, that is fine as well."

Holding her arms up, Celes smiled at the new arrival. "Ooooh, I'm not really ready to battle anyone yet. Mist hasn't even successfully caught a Magikarp, she's not um, really... prepared for that, you know? Maaaaybe later. Everyone have fun with your um, battles and whateverrrrrr though." With those words said, the little girl began to slink behind the tall Dragonite, doing her best to clamber on his back.

Shooting the girl a glance, the Dragonite rolled his eyes, <I'm not carrying you to the lab. You're awake.>

With his peace said, the Dragonite looked to the Snover, Moroza, <From my experience, it's mostly Trainers who seem to want to battle incessantly. Well, if you wish to battle anyone, good luck. I should take this little one to get a Pokédex. I do hope we meet again.>

"Little one? Geez you're embarrassing me in front of everyone..."

Devon wasn't able to get many words in to the conversation with Celes. The overly excited girl was just that, he mouth moving at a mile a minute as she explained a bit about her current situation. Leaving the teen himself to awkwardly lean against the Center's outer wall and listen. ....So she's got a Dratini that isn't very tough, probably super young, and Ranulf here isn't technically hers?.....That's all I'm really getting from this. She really does remind me of Jill....

The appearance of this new Trainer with a thing for denim didn't really hold Devon's attention. The boy himself not currently arguing or fighting anyone in this somewhat disjointed group of teens, young adults, and random little girl. Though he did give a good suggestion. The boy draped in crimson hoodie's deep brown eye's scanned the tiny crowd for people that would actually enjoy the challenge of a battle. ...A battle huh? Haven't had one in awhile...Last one was.....Yeah. I think it was that one we had with Seva last week....That was pretty fun. I had no idea that she taught Comet Flamethrower.... Soon however, his gaze laid upon Celes. A sort of frown spread across the teen's face. ....Or should I just say screw it for now and go to the lab with Celes? The sooner I get a new Dex, the sooner I can sign up for the league.....Or maybe I could...

Nasir spoke up, stating that he was basically fine with whatever in his own mannered 'voice'. Devon looked over at the disguised Illusion Fox with a smile. "Battles can wait. Let's just head for the lab."

The boy stood up from the Center wall and gestured for the rest of his team to join him, until his attention was caught by the odd exchange between Celes and Ranulf. He raised a brow in response. ...Is she....Talking with him? Like full one-on-one conversation?.....Guess it's not too weird, I talk to my Pokémon, and Nasir can technically speak a language that I understand....But all I'm hearing from Ranulf is weird barks...Is Celes hearing something else?....I'll ask her about it later....

"Alright, you coming Celes? Let's rock."

Monday Mallory

@Shiny Keldeo @Experiment 249
Monday bit back a sigh of relief as the kid, apparently named Sergei, played along. Her little ruse successful, she turned to leave but stopped in her tracks at the sight of yet another veteran. This one had a mega keystone embedded in a ring on his finger and talked like he was just leagues better than the rest of them. He probably was, but still, Monday didn't like being condescended to.

"Yeah yeah, we get it, Denim Fetish. You're a Veteran. Good for you. Have fun with that." she snapped, pushing past the older man. "C'mon, Asystole. Let's get that stupid Pokedex or whatever so we can move the hell on."

<...Oh dear.> Asystole hesitated, watching her trainer stalk towards the lab, fists shoved deep in her pockets. This wasn't a regular bad mood; normally, Monday would challenge anyone that so much as made eye contact. The harried little Duskull looked around for a source. 'Denim Fetish' could've triggered it; Monday hated Veteran trainers, but...

Ah. Asystole took one look at the trainer that'd been talking with the Snover's trainer and understood. She floated up to the elegant man and looked him up and down. Definitely a coordinator. Monday despised coordinators. With a rattling sigh, Asystole gave the man and his pokemon a polite bow before hurrying after her irritated human. She could only hope they didn't run into any more flashy annoyances.

@Light Lord@Zardoric@Leoven@void liege@Uccello@Experiment 249@Shiny Keldeo@Dynamo Frokane
At her new traveling partner's words, Celes did a rather excited fist-pump. "Wooo! Yup, let's go! Sorry if you wanted to battle and stuff. Once we get our dexy-thingies, I promise you can do whatever you want."

Trying once again to clamber on the Dragonite's back, Celes was unsuccessful as Ranulf took a step forward, causing her to slide off and fall clumsily. "Noooooo, really? You really won't let me...?"

Closing his eyes, the Dragonite let out a sigh, <If you're to become a Trainer, you must be able to do the most basic of things on your own. Did you not listen to what everyone in Blackthorn told you? Ask Devon; does he ride his Ampharos around when he's feeling lazy?>

A small smirk crossed Nasir's features who had been quietly listening in on most of the surrounding conversations, "I've never seen Devon ride on Shock's back, however I've carried him a few times."

With wide eyes, both Celes and Ranulf turned to face the silent man clad in black. A shrill chirp escaped the girl's lips and she ran over to Nasir and began to climb him. "OHMIGOSH YOU CAN UNDERSTAND RANULF TOO!?"

A small child was now wrapping herself around his waist, and Nasir wasn't entirely sure how to feel about it. With a soft chuckle, he tried to push her down, but Celes wasn't having it. "...Perhaps I can. Let's ah... head to that lab now, shall we? Devon...?"

Devon turned away from the group currently gathered near the Center and looked down at Celes to wave a dismissive hand and smile. "It's ok. Battles aren't everything when it comes to being a Trainer."

The teen put his arms behind his head as he strode past the Center, and spun back around at the mouth of the road to view the Celes and Ranulf both freaking out about Nasir's apparent ability to understand Pokémon. The energetic child also confirmed her own ability to understand the dragon. Devon hid a knowing grin by instead painting his face in a smirk. His hands firmly stuffed in his hoodie's pockets. "Let's just say you got your cool Dragons...." The teen's brown eye's drifted to the tall Dragonite, then to Nasir and winked at the black swordsman currently being glomped by the long coated girl. "....And I have Nasir. I'll tell ya about him later. But for now, let's get going."

[New Amber Town - Path towards Maple Pokémon lab]

The duo of teenage boy and small girl along with their Pokémon made their way down the dirt path. Away from the Pokémon Center and towards the edge of town where the lab was said to lie. (Making sure to stay very far behind the rude woman and her ghost) Devon whistled slightly as he tilted his head up to look at the sky. A flock of Starly glided through the air above them, chirping nosily in the light of the sunny day. "So, let me guess..."
His head panned a bit to his left to look over at Celes and Ranulf. "You're strutting around with a Dratini and a Dragonite, are you from Blackthorn City Celes? I hear the people up there are just as crazy about dragons as some of the people living in Celestic Town."

Celes Elwyn and Nasir the Zoroark
Celes' Party - Ranulf the Dragonite, Mist the Dratini
[New Amber Town - Path Towards Maple Pokémon Lab]

@Light Lord
At some point during the start of their 'long' trek towards the Pokémon Lab, Celes had climbed atop Nasir's shoulders, and was riding him as she would a Dragonite. The black-haired man was obviously less than pleased about the entire situation, but was tolerating it. Ranulf trailed behind the group, taking in the sights of New Amber Town.

Devon spoke up, and Celes wrapped her arms around Nasir's head in order to better look at the teen. "You guessed right! We're from Blackthorn City! Well, I don't think I was born there, or even really from there, but I'm from there now if that makes sense?" Pausing for a moment, the brown-haired girl tilted her head, "So... Celestic Town? Hehe, it sounds like it was named after me! Never heard of it though, it um... is like Blackthorn then?" Pounding a fist to her chest, and simultaneously throwing Nasir off balance, the small girl continued, "You're totally right though, Blackthorn is totally dedicated to dragons and stuff! You know Champion Lance toooootally is from there, right?"

Rolling his eyes, Ranulf groaned, <'Totally.'>

Devon looked back and the unimpressed Ranulf and gave him a sympathetic smile before looking back up at Celes still piggy backing Nasir. "Yep I know about the guy. I'm more in the know about Clair though. She never shuts up once she gets on that radio." His head turned back to the path, facing screwing up a bit as he tried to think. "If you weren't born in Blackthorn, you might be from Celestic based on the name. It's sort of like Blackthorn though. It's in the Sinnoh mountains, and that's where alot of old people live that know about the history of the region." Looking back up at the girl he raised a thoughtful finger. "There's said to be two Dragon-types that live in Sinnoh named Dialga and Palkia. They control time and space, so alot of people come to the town to try and learn more about those two. Cool huh?"

Shock was slowly trailing behind Devon, snickering at Nasir as he was forced to be a make-shift taxi. <Looks likes its all aboard the Foxy train. Kids just cling to you like a magnet don't they?>

Cyan hung back a bit, and tilted her face up towards the unimpressed Dragonite after his groan, a wondering stare on the Marill's visage. <What's the matter Ranulf? You look a little mad.>

The group around Leo was dispersing as all of the trainers new to Viore weer headed to go get their new pokedexes. One Leo already had, due to the fact he lived in Viore for a year or so now. He wanted oh so bad to follow them. The whole group seemed to have some strange aura that drew him toward them. He felt like they needed to be together, not romantically, but spiritually. He couldn't explain it, he just knew it was meant to be that they would all meet this day. He waved off to the trainers heading away, even the rude girl who whispered something, probably mean, into the boy with the accent's ear. "Have fun at the lab, you're gonna love it in Viore!" he called out

Now with everyone he had spoken too gone, he made his way to a black car with tinted winows and a man ina suit and sunglasses standing beside it. He waved to the man and put his hand behind his head in a fluent motion. [coor=mediumvioletred]"Uh, Nicholas, I don't know how to say this, but I think I'm going on an adventure. I just met this wonderful group of people and it just... It feels like destiny, y'know? I'm sure when you tell father he'll understand."[/color] he chuckled. A look of shock overtook the man's face

"You mean... I have to tell your father? You're not going to?"

"Of course! I'll be far too busy adventuring to call him now uh, I gotta go BYE!" Leo said, grabbing a pack from inside of the car's backseat and running. The man's sunglasses fell off of his face as he scrambled to try and stop the boy, but he was gone. "I'm so fired..." he grumbled and pulled out a cell phone. Leo was out of site by the time the call was being made.

Leo ran as fast as he could to the nearest pokemart, he needed to stock up on things. he grabbed 5 luxury balls, a few super potions and hyper potions and full heals. All name brand, of course. He paid with a black looking card before the price was even mentioned to him. He was out the door as fast as he could be. He saw the car he ran from again and crept out of sight of it, the man was in it but the car seemed to not be running anymore. Guess the phone call was going to be a long one. He had to make a stop at a boutique for some new clothes for the trip, considering his wardrobe was still at home in Longsand. He'd have to stop by sometime and trade some stuff out.

Putting a finger to her lips, Celes contemplated Devon's words. "...Clair? She um, has a radio thing? Huh, didn't know that. I mean I guess it make sense since she's a Gym Leader and everything..." With a small frown, she remained quiet for a moment before perking back up, "I mean, my name is Celes, which sounds an awful lot like Celestic, but that's nowhere near Johto, right? Ranulf found me over by the Whirl Islands, so I'd be a bit surprised if I was from all the way in... Sin-oh?"

Leaning against Nasir's head, she pressed her face into his hair before replying once more, "I've never heard of Dialga and Palkia, but they sound really cool! Strong, too!"

Glancing over at Shock as best as he could manage with a small child clinging to his head, Nasir let out a soft sigh. "...so it would seem. That said, I've only had a few encounters with children, with the most notable being when I was a child myself. At least she is light."

At the tiny Marill's comment, the large Dragonite looked downward. <...mad is not the word I would use. Tired would be more accurate. I've flown the entire way here from Blackthorn City, and I just... I could use sleep, but I cannot simply retreat into a Pokéball as one normally would.> Looking to Celes for a moment, he then continued, <...my head is also pounding.>

Nasir would attempt to glance behind him with little success. "If your head is bothering you, I believe Devon has something that should help that."

Devon Lyton
Shock the Ampharos, Cyan the Marill, Quill the Monferno, Missy the Mismagius, Nasir the Zoroark
[New Amber Town - Path towards Maple Pokémon lab]

Devon shook his head once Celes questioned the location of his part-time home region. "Actually, Sinnoh is just to the north of Johto." Shrugging, the teen gave her a dopey smile. "So who knows, you could be a Sinnoite."

Shock continued to snicker a bit as Nasir looked back at him. The Ampharos trained his large brown eyes on the false human and smirked. <Whatever you say man. Just make sure she doesn't hitch a ride on me!>

Cyan looked between both Nasir and Devon, and let off a small hmpf sound as she jogged ahead and tugged at her Trainer's pant leg to get his attention.

When Nasir spoke his name, the casually dressed teen turned his head and gave him and odd look. "Someone need aspirin?" Cyan's pant grab caught Devon's attention as he looked down at her. "What's up Cyan?"

The little Marill nodded at the boy and pointed a small blue arm back at Ranulf.

Devon spun around and continued walking backwards as he looked to Cyan's point. It leading him to look up at the towering Dragonite and nod. "Oh it's Ranulf. I thought it was you since ya spoke up. One sec man."

The boy's hands went to the plastic black clip of his backpack's single strap. It released with a soft click as Devon pulled the bag around to his front for unzip one of the side pockets and dig around. Eventually coming up with a tiny white plastic bottle. Quickly the teen threw the bag back over his shoulder as he shook two tiny red pills from the bottle into his open palm.

The Trainer strolled back next to the large Dragon and stood on his tip toes to hold his open palm within arms reach of Ranulf. "Here you go. These should help with the head pains."

Brooks
[New Amber Town - Pokemon Center]

@Leoven
Well, he'd at least partially gotten his message across. The arguing had stopped, but he was concerned about a few of the trainers as they set off on their journeys, particularly the fresher ones, like the upstart brat with the oddly colored Duskull. She had no interest in making any kind of friend, it seemed. That could be dangerous, especially during such a troubling time in Viore... not that anyone realized this of course. To the naked eye, Viore was the usual PokeManiac Paradise. If only they could see what lay beneath...

He wouldn't dwell on it. He had other things to do, he'd gotten distracted as is. He turned to the uniform clad girl once more. "Please take what I tell you to heart. Only you can decide how your journey goes, how you and your Pokemon grow. There's no set path for a trainer to follow. If all else fails, just follow your heart." He closed his eyes and turned, calmly walking down the street. He could feel the battling spirit in one of his Pokeballs. "I know, maybe next time. We haven't gotten a good challenge in far too long..."

[Several Minutes Later...]

He now overlooked New Amber Town, his stay had been brief. He'd heard of troubling news coming from the triangle of Riviera, Dorado, and Lilac as of late. Someting so close to home... he wouldn't have it. Events were beginning to unfold before him that had been prophesied since ancient days. Something he wished would never have come. "Well, it's a long road ahead of us, let's get moving." He clutched one of his Pokeballs in his hand, tossing it into the air revealing a massive hulking form, a Feraligatr. Around it's neck a special brace, within it was an odd gem. The Feraligatr began walking steadily alongside his trainer.

Brent Ignia and Lily Meadows
[New Amber Town - Maple Pokemon Lab]

@Ninian @Light Lord
It had been several minutes since the Professor had disappeared into the back room. Finally, he revealed himself carrying two miniature computer devices, one Orange one Green. "I had to find just the right colors to fit you two, but here you go. These are the Viore Model Pokedexes." He placed them in their respective hands, and they looked at the vital devices. They greatly resembled the Kalos Model Pokedex, but it didn't seem to open...

"If you're confused on how to use it, try scanning your Pokemon. Just point it at the Pokemon you want to scan and click the red button on the side there." Brent was the first to try it, scanning Lily's Chikorita. A hologram appeared above the Pokedex, showing a 3D model of the Pokemon and displaying it's typing and important info around it. "Chikorita, the Leaf Pokemon. Chikorita emits pleasant aromas from the leaves on their heads and they love to sunbathe. They are also one of the three starter Pokemon common in the Johto Region." The device said in a feminine voice.

"Wow, how neat. Let me try!" Said Lily, pointing the device at Brent's Cyndaquil. "Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokémon. Normally mild and even tempered, Cyndaquil will shoot a scorching flame out of its back when upset. It is also one of the three starter Pokemon common in the Johto Region." It replied in the same feminine voice.

"Now, these Pokedex's have more importance than just an encyclopedia, be it may it is it's primary function. It also serves as your Viore Region Trainer's ID, which you will need to register for the Viore League or Viore Grand Festival and begin collecting the necessary badges or ribbons for those." Professor Maple explained. He pulled out a Blue Pokegear, looking at the clock. "Ah, 2:48. If you'll excuse me, I have to prepare for our departure. Good luck on your journeys! If you have any more questions, my aids should be able to help you." The Professor waved goodbye, and returned to the back room, backpack in hand.

"Well... now what should we do?" Asked Lily, turning to Brent. "Well, that all depends. What are you planning to do here in Viore?" Lily turned and gave a wide grin. "I'm going to take on the Viore League! I don't know how far I'll get, but it'll be a lot of fun I know it!" Brent lit up a little hearing that. "Well, just so happens I am too! We could go together if you want, my brother Ryan always says journeys are much more fun with friends by your side." Lily thought about it for a bit. She had just met him, but she had to admit they had become fast friends. It just felt... right.

"Sure! It'll make the journey way more fun!" Well, that settled that. "Alright! Oh, by the way, I'm guessing you have a Pokegear, right? I mean, who doesn't these days?" Lily nodded, pulling out a Pink colored Pokegear. "Let's get each other's Phone Numbers then." The two exchanged Phone Numbers, then Lily tried pulling up a map of Viore. "Uh oh, I forgot, I still haven't updated my Pokegear with the Viore Region Map and such." Brent nodded and motioned to the door. "The Pokemon Center should be able to update that for you, let's head over there now. The crowds should be broken up by now too."

The two started outside, but halfway down the steps they looked down the road they had come down and saw the stream of trainers coming their way. The ones that stood out the most were what appeared to be a trio of trainers with a massive amount of Pokemon out. For some reason, instead of taking a different route, they waited. They couldn't explain it if they tried, but something told them to wait and meet these new trainers.

Celes Elwyn and Nasir the Zoroark
Celes' Party - Ranulf the Dragonite, Mist the Dratini
Zoroark Illusion Status: Human

[New Amber Town - Path Towards Maple Pokémon Lab]

@Light Lord@Shiny Keldeo
Contemplating Devon's words, Celes hung herself over Nasir. "To the north of Johto...? Really? Well, I mean I guess that means I could be from there. I wish I remembered, I was too young though..."

Shock's commentary caused Nasir's lips to upturn, "I'll do what I can..."

Pausing in his tracks, Ranulf looked as the Trainer approached him with strange red pills. <...What are these?>

Glancing behind him, Nasir replied, "They're pills, normally for humans, however they work for Pokémon as well."

Tilting his head, the Dragonite accepted the red objects from Devon. Giving the boy a smile, he popped them into his mouth and swallowed. <They could certainly taste better, but I appreciate it, Devon. Thank you. Hopefully this helps.> With a slight, awkward bow, the Dragonite pressed onward.

Ahead of them, Nasir spotted what was likely the Lab. Two young Trainers made their way out of it; he wouldn't be surprised if they were starting their first Pokémon journey. It only took a moment for Celes to spot them too, and she began to kick at Nasir's side as if he were a proper mount. "Ooooh! There's kids, and they look my age, ish! Can we go say hi Mr. Black?"

Closing his eyes, a sigh escaped his lips before he took off in the direction of the two Trainers. Throwing a hand up, Celes began to shriek happily. It only took a moment for the pair to sprint up the steps towards where the young Trainers were. Holding onto Celes—who was still riding on his shoulders—Nasir stopped quickly in front of the pair, causing Celes to shriek and laugh. "Yaaaay, we made it before Devon!"

Letting out a sigh, the black-haired man shook his head, "...Indeed we did. Apologies for the sudden appearance. Miss Celes wished to say hello, since you both appear to be near her age."

"Hiiiii!"

Devon Lyton
Shock the Ampharos, Cyan the Marill, Quill the Monferno, Missy the Mismagius, Nasir the Zoroark
[New Amber Town - Path towards Maple Pokémon lab]

@Ninian@Shiny Keldeo
Devon smiled as Ranulf gave the awkward bow, and gave the Dragonite thumbs up. "No problem man. When you got a bunch of friends with sensitive ears, you tend to carry around alot of headache meds." As he said this, he gestured to Cyan, Shock, and Quill walking beside each other.

Shock used this as an opportune moment to make a cruddy joke. The Ampharos grinning and leaning his head back with eyes closed. <Good thing too. You should hear Quill snore. Guy's louder than a Snorlax! Can barely sleep near em.>

Quill snorted as his eyes remained on the path ahead of him. Though a slight smirk did spread across his muzzle as he spoke. <That's pretty rich coming from the guy that electrocutes us every morning at early hours. If it's really that bad Shock, maybe you should put some cups around those funny looking ears of your.>

Shock's oddly shaped ear's vibrated at the comment, causing his yellow face to turn red and his rubbery body to turn away from the taunting monkey. <H-Hey! I do NOT shock you guys EVERY morning! And my ears ain't funny looking! They're perfect just the way they are!>

Laughter could be heard from all who were able to even understand the sour Ampharos. The poking fun lost on the two humans of the group.

Then unexpectedly, Celes shouted and Nasir sped off towards the lap without a second thought. Dust being kicked up from the man's feet as he made his way up to the pair of Trainer's near the lab in a matter of seconds. The dust cloud being left for Devon and company to cough and sputter on. "Gack, h-hey! Celes! Nasir! Wait up!" Devon managed to choke out as his hands fanned the airborne dirt out of his face as he sprinted after the two. The rest of the parties Pokémon following behind him all except for Shock, who awkwardly stumble-jogged after everyone while flailing his flippers. <SERIOUSLY!? I LITERALLY CANNOT RUN! GUYS! COME ON!>

[New Amber Town - In front of Maple's lab]

Another few moments later and Devon and the rest of the Pokémon, (minus Shock who was still lagging behind) rejoined the girl and swordsman in front of the lab as they greeted the two other young Trainers that stood outside of the building. Devon had his hands on his knees panting a little bit as he raised a single hand and waved. "H....Hey. What's up? I'm uh...I'm Devon."
