@Ninian
Jinx had a scale for unexpected situations. He liked to call it the Inspector Jones scale.
This was a solid 'Inspector Jones was the statue the whole time' on that scale. About as high as the scale went, unless one counted the never-happened/never happening 'Inspector Jones just kissed me" category. Okay.
Seriously. There wasn't alot Jinx wouldn't do-but seriously what kind of utter **** did someone have to be to do that to a cripple?
Let alone one with a cane, nice locks, and a freaking stylish long coat. Probably a doc' or something by the looks of it. Normally a pretty inoffensive type. Expect when they were consulting with the cops. Then they were dangerous.
He didn't fight cripples. He didn't assault cripples. It just didn't end well-you won, and well, you just beat up a cripple you jerk. You lose, and you just lost to a cripple you sadsack. It was a no-profit venture.
Also left a bad taste in his mouth.
So his next actions were more or less automatic. Jinx was on his knees in a second, and leaning over the assaulted man in the next. "It's alright."
There was only a slight bit of his normal vinegar and spite accent in his voice when he spoke. "I can call the hospital if you want. Dunno how close they are, uh, the next closest thing is the Poke Center and I don't think they do people."
Jinx paused. Not sure what else to say. Comforting people wasn't his thing. Honing in on their weaknesses and needling them mercilessly, yes. Comfort? No.
He summed up the situation succiently.
"****."
