The Beginning of the End:

Newyork, a busy place where the streets were filled to the brim with people who were going to or from work, doing daily things or for those who were tourist came to see all the sites in Newyork. The Empire State Building, the Rockfella Center, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, etc. Today was no different than the other days that came and went, the weather was the same as well though a slight breeze was in the air today. Among the many people on the streets was an 18-year-old woman, a student who had a part-time job at one of the big clubs in NY. Though she was from the UK she chose to study for a year in Newyork, it was her favourite city in America, it had many wonderful things like London did back home. The shops had items of many kinds, many wonderful foods that were only found here in the US nd food found elsewhere as well. She was in her usual black t-shirt, her raven hair tied up in a ponytail though time to time had it free flowing which would reach beyond her shoulders.

She also wore tight leather trousers with a leather belt complete with buckle, the buckle itself was a cattle skull but it was glittery and shiny. Something she brought herself while here in the US, she also had a leather jacket, one that was similar to what a bike rider would wear but more slimming. Her jack was undone so her t-shirt was visible to everyone who walked by, her pale milky flesh glowed with radiance though her fatigue showed. Her eyes were heavy, her arms were somewhat lifeless, her legs taking steps of their own at their own pace. She had worked all night, luckily no classes were on until Monday. She could not serve the drinks because she was underage though that never stopped her trying. She was more of a general assistant at the club. She could see the world passing her by, the people brushing or dodging her the best they could on the packed walkway.

"I need some coffee, maybe an energy drink of some kind. I gotta hit those books before I can even think of sleeping" she said to herself. Her speech was a little sluggish. Eventually, she reached the end of the street and luckily the lights were red so she could walk across the road instead of waiting for it. A few blocks later she was at her local coffee shop, a small local business she had been going to since she found it. She was only inside the shop for no more than five minutes, the coffee shop at a relaxed vibe to it, wooden chairs, wooden tables, wood paneled walls and a wooden counter which were the main decoration. A glass case covering the food items the coffee shop had on sale. Cookies, chocolate cake, carrot cake, doughnuts and other goodies were just asking to be eaten. Toni was tempted but she only got a coffee, in the end, the tired young woman paid with some crumpled bills from her jacket pocket.

What seemed like a normal morning would not remain like that for very long, as Toni and everyone else in Newyork was about to find out.

The Smith Sisters

The traffic in New York City was probably the worse that anyone has ever seen, like any other major city the rush hour was always murder even in the summer months they were extremely brutal just waiting in your car if your AC wasn't working that is. On the Brooklyn Bridge there was a black Honda Pilot inside it there were two girls, they appeared to be sisters Maria younger looking woman around her mid twenties was at the wheel. They decided that they would take the time to go on a little vacation to New York City while school was out, Kristina a younger woman who was in her late teens was listening to music while talking with her sister.

Once they were in Manhattan they were actually very hungry and wanted to take a stop before they could actually do some sight seeing. "So what were you craving?" Maria asked her sister as they stopped at a red light, Kristina lightly tapped at her chin as she thought about it for a good few moments. "Hmm, I could go for something sweet." Kris answered her older sister, Maria smiled and gave her a nod. "Theres a coffee shop, we could do that?" Maria suggested Kristina smiled brightly and nodded. "Sounds great to me." Maria drove down the street a bit until they were in front of the café.

Both of the sisters got out of the car and stood by the sidewalk until there was an opening and both of the sisters quickly made their way across the street and made their way into the café where Kristina spotted a girl that looked to be around her age. She smiled slightly towards her and gave her a quick wave, Kris stood next to her older sister as she ordered her and her sister some coffee as well as a brownie and a doughnut and the two of them took a seat closest to the window watching as cars drove by.

The tired college student stood next to the counter where she was adding one or two small packets of sugar to her coffee. She liked her coffee black because it had a kick, milk and cream were nice to have sometimes. Using a wooden spoon that was next to the counter which had other wooden spoons, white sugar packets, brown sugar packets, small milk pots, small cream pots and a few other things. As Toni began to stir the sugar into her hot drink her eyes began to wander around the room. A lot of the people here were regulars, however, two people caught her eye. They looked like they were siblings, Toni had never seen them here before but then again she was not here all hours of the day.

The raven haired woman soon noticed one of the two siblings giving a smile before she waved. At first, Toni was not sure who she was waving at. Since it looked like no one else was doing anything the tired woman waved back at the one who waved at her first. It was nice to see a smile in this sea of frowns and man negative emotions. Toni's wave was a bit of a weird one, she only used three fingers to do it. She soon watched the pair order some food and drink before watching them take a sit somewhere. Things seemed normal enough today though that was all about to change. About five minutes passed, most of Toni's coffee was gone and she more awake now. Outside the window the scene changed, people seemed to have stopped walking, they were now mostly looking in one direction which was to the west. A gun shot followed getting the attention of everyone in the coffee shop.

Some of the people in the shop jumped from the shock, others wondered what it was and some just went on with their lives. Another shot soon followed making Toni wonder if a gun fight was happening. Her eyes watched the people she could see outside the shop, the people outside were still watching as a few more shots happened. Suddenly a blood-curdling scream could be heard and the people outside the shop suddenly began to disburse. "What the?" said the Raven haired woman. People began screaming louder than before, people were falling over, people were pushing and trampling each other. It was pure chaos outside, a young man, in his 30's soon entered the coffee shop. He wore a red tracksuit, branded red trainers, a red branded cap, and sunglasses. He was white as a ghost which was alarming to most and he seemed out of breath as well.

"Yo listen up, there is some weird shit going on outside. This drugged up guy bite a cop right in the hand, his gun did nothing to the suspect either. They were shot several times but they kept walking. Suddenly several more people were bitten and the people outside began to panic man. Oh man, I don't know what is going on but it is scary out there." The raven haired woman listened to what the person was saying but none of it made any sense, she did not question it as the outside became even more chaotic. The man in red was next to the window as things happened, he was freaking out as well. "Oh man, oh man, oh man. WHAT IS GOING ON?" Soon a figure that was stumbling about appeared outside, in fact, several of them appeared. Those unlucky were being bitten right now, the flesh was being torn from their bodies, blood was flying everywhere possible. Windows, vehicles, signs, pavements and other things began to run red with blood.

The number of infected started to grow in number, a number of them began to surround the shop. Banging on the window just so they could get the attention of the living. The man in red quickly began to block the only entrance to the building that could be seen from the main room. Several chairs were now in front of the entrance, the man in red had to wrestle and force object from those using them. He left the two siblings alone, though. Groaning sounds were being made, they certainly sounded like they were drugged up and they acted somewhat like that too but the biting was weird. "OK man, we should be safe in here man, we have some time I think."
