Hi, so this is kind of a relapse into RPing for me. I used to RP a little a few years ago but I haven't really since. I also stopped writing for fun which is never good so hopefully this will kickstart me into doing something productive with my life...
By the time I'll actually be active, I'll have left college (I don't know what that is for the US but it's the stage before university for us in the UK) so that should give you an indication of my age.
Regarding setting, I prefer low-fantasy, or at least something which has a basis in reality. That's not to say I automatically dismiss the idea of elves and magic (if done well, it can really be done well) but I generally prefer gritty, well established and often reflective of the real world (if not actually set in the real world).
The characters I like (or would like to, if I had more skill) to RP are likeably imperfect. I don't really see myself, or my characters, as huge heroes leading the forefront into battle, more of a guy who sits on the side occasionally snarking and coming up with good ideas. However, since that's my norm I might try and go a little out of the box.
Plotlines, I quite like not knowing what's going to happen. Or at least, I like having to guess what is going to happen should I do X or Y and knowing that either could be right or wrong. Genre-wise, I quite like adventure and political stories.
Interests outside of RP (though I'd love to discuss) are politics, philosophy, drinking, history, drinking again and pretending that I know about the aforementioned items.
