The unused concept for it's notreligion system is here:
Passitare is a land void of religion, or at least an orthodox one. Instead, most of the place’s inhabitants follow the Leading Paths. The Leading Paths are promised to lead any of it’s followers to their deepest desires. In those Paths, there are no clear steps or actions to be taken, but rather a set of beliefs on how one should lead life. There is no real way to confirm that one has reached the end of it’s path besides one’s personal satisfaction with his accomplishments. There are three Paths to be followed:
Path of the Adventure: The Path which shall guide any adventurer, wanderer or free spirit to their desires. The beliefs promoted under this Path change vastly according to who is asked, but one of them is universal: The first is “Luck is like a muscle and needs to be trained, if one don’t forces oneself into situations where luck is needed, on shall never have real luck”. The followers of this Path tent to live life exposing themselves to high risk high reward situations, leading to either exceptional rewards or gruesome deaths.
Path of the Wealth: This Path, while followed as a secondary Path by some adventurers, is the Leading Path for tradesmen. The beliefs in this Path are shared through three core books: Get Rich or Die Trying, the favorite among adventurers teaching the usual ways to get rich as a traveler, such as scavenging, looting and selling, as well as the not so usual, as stealing, pick pocketing and killing. How to Get Rich teaches how to start up a business and which steps to follow. Lastly Business Etiquette that teaches the moral code (and sometimes the lack of them) that is involved in business. Those books contain not only financial advices, but also a set of personal philosophies to be followed by the aspiring businessman.
Path of the Soul: This Path is followed mostly by those aspiring to achieve great deeds in the fields of wizardry, spirituality or peace of mind, but anyone interested in harnessing power of it’s own self is likely to follow this Path. The followers of this Path believe that any belief without actions to back it up is void of meaning. The core beliefs of this Path are that meditation can bring one closer to it’s full potential and that Karma is not only real, but is the core principle of how one’s destiny is actually traced. Despite this last belief, not all of the followers of this Path try to harness good Karma, as studies on how to avoid the negative consequences of bad Karma are widely spread.
TO ANYONE WHO MIGHT CARE: Feel free to give ideas of what you would like to see done with it or, if you'd like, steal for yourself and do something interesting with it. As it is right now, it looks kinda cliche for me.
Just please make sure of announcing here if you are going to use it as a base for your development. We don't want two or three nations with an extremely similar set of beliefs.
Just posted the draft for Passitare's setting in the FE forum. Please let me know through PM if there is anything to change or edit.
I also have a small idea for the "religion" of the land. Not actually a religion, but whatever. I didn't even mentioned, as I got stuck to move the concept foward in any way.
