@rush99999@Eklispe@Dark Light

Alright guys, welcome too the OOC!

You have traveled from distant lands to make it to the great stone pillar before you. You know that beneath this pillar lies the Witch's Heart: a mythical object said to grant the first who should touch it a single wish before crumbling to dust. Many have lost their lives in the depths beneath in an attempt to secure this wish. You, travelers, are but the latest of those who venture towards the perils of the Labyrinth. Why do you seek the Heart, and what skill gives you the courage to risk your lives? Success or failure is yours to achieve.
Character Creation

This is your character sheet:

You have 15 points to spend on your character's stats. Each point represents one avoidance of disaster or the gaining of an advantage. Here are some examples of how you can spend points:

  • Dodge or block a blow
  • Get around or through an enemy's defenses
  • Avoid a trap
  • Push through a psychic attack
  • Use a special power or ability
  • Anything else that requires greater than normal effort. The OOC will be used to ask/say whether something qualifies for that or not.

Your ABILITY can be almost anything. I am trusting you to not game the system and come up with the most powerful thing you can think of. Transformation, energy bolts, a secret sword technique, or even the power to heal others are all fine abilities. The only real rule is that its named has to be three words or less. I'll leave its description to the first time you use it.

EDIT: Abilities can only refresh a single point, if that is their nature. Passive skills use a SPECIAL point every time they "activate". For example: a shield that automatically appears to block a blow or hardening skin would use up a point when struck.

EDIT:
COLOR CODE
  • BRAWN is RED
  • AGILITY is BLUE
  • WILL is GREEN
  • SPECIAL is YELLOW

Stat Recovery

Most stats completely refresh after a night's rest, but there are two exceptions: HP does not refresh except for by means of healing, and SPECIAL only recovers half of it's maximum rounded up. (eg. {-----} becomes {+++--})

Turn Order

For the sake of simplicity and everybody getting the chance to post, we will have a posting order. Nothing complicated, I pinky-swear. It will go like this:

  • GM (for the opening post)
  • Best AGILITY
  • Second best
  • Third best

Ties will be broken with me rolling a die on my desk here. So go ahead and create your characters and post them in the character section. I'll look over them, ask questions if need be, and when we have everybody we'll start the IC! If anything needs clarification, let me know.

@Smertless

Can our special ability be a passive ability or can it only be active?

What do you have in mind?

I was thinking a special ability that automatically refills an empty skill bar when its use is required at the cost of 1 special point.

Well, I'm afraid unless it were to only refresh a single point of that skill's bar, that would be pretty over-powered. Speaking of which, I forgot to include one of the rules from the interest check. Abilities can only refresh a single point, if that is their nature. It will be added in blue on the original post. Passive abilities would work, you would simply use a point of SPECIAL every time it is used.

So as long as your ability only refreshes a single point, it is certainly allowed.

@Eklispe

Well, I for some reason expected very descriptive names for abilities, and I didn't want you to describe how it looks, how you use it, etc... But in retrospect, it is probably a good idea if you could just give me the basic effect of your power. So, without spoiling too much, what does your power do?

EDIT: Oh, and your character other than that is perfect. I like his back-story, and his stats reflect it very well! I'm glad that things are working out well enough in that regard.

In essence I was thinking of it rejecting something that happens and making things as though it hadn't. For example if he got shot, then using this would restore him to normal, like it never happened. Rejecting an event occurring, though limited to more of single events kind thing. Like if he got put in jail he couldn't reject that, but if he got cuffs put on him he could. Also it'd have to be relatively quickly in terms of the event. Like if he got shot he couldn't wait a day to fix it, it'd have to be a decision more or less as soon as it happens. Possibly able to extend this others, though I'm okay with that not being a thing. That took a lot of text, hope its relatively clear :<

Hmm... I'm a little cautious about this, but I will allow it, as long as it only rejects a single instance each use. Like you said, being hit by a bullet or cuffs being slapped on him. Something that only takes a moment is reasonable.

Vallen

The Silent Monk,

Age: 28
Sex: M
Backstory: Vallen grew up a simple farm boy living in great poverty, his parents were good people who loved him muchly but understood they simply could not provide for him. He was sent into orphanage were he eventual was adopted by some nobles.
While childless, these nobles were not seeking a child but a servant.
Vallen watched the waste of food and the flaunting of money and grew angrier and more resentful by the day. Never forgetting the struggling life his parents were probably still suffering.
To the young man this was a great injustice, one day he stole all he could carry and began the month long journey home.
When he arrived his father was already dead and his mother dying.
He was too late...
He couldn't save her. If only he was a few weeks earlier.
After grieving he eventually gave away all he had, his charity was noticed by a passing monk who offered him shelter at the monastery. There Vallen stayed and trained until he believed himself worthy enough to change the world.
Wish: For the strength to topple kingdoms.

Alright, approved! That means we're only waiting on @rush99999 to finish his character! If you guys could post your characters in the characters section, I'll lift out the stats to put into the first post. That way when we need to keep track of points used, there will be a one-stop shop. I will also, when I have time tomorrow, edit the first post in order to color-code the stats. That way, when you are using a stat, we can color it rather than break prose.
