[IC] RWBY: Chronicle of Vault.

"As of now, I pronounce the four of you as, team Jackal! (JAYC.)" Trendle announced to the group, with some polite applause for all of them. "And your leader shall be, Asher Brandt, for his tactics and excellent prowess in the exam. Congratulations."

"I look forward to working with all of you." Yasmin smiled pleasantly as she glanced up and down their group, whilst the Faunus now identified as Cedar just nodded and smiled in return

Once they were done, the final team was formed, composed of a purple haired girl in surprisingly simple clothing, almost akin to a school uniform, the man in the mask and the high hat, a dark skinned blonde in a waistcoat and trilby hat and a large black haired guy in a leather jacket. They were Violetta Gonichi, Stizza Hamelin, Pazice Gjaller and Raijan Onyx respectively, assigned to be Team VSPR, lead by Violetta. Once they sat back down, Trendle stood up to the podium once again.

"You've all earned your places, and as far as today is concerned, you've earned a well deserved rest. The cafeteria is now open for lunch and we've prepared an extra sized menu in celebration of tonight. Also, don't forget to pick up your room keys, miss Lariet will be handing them out by the door. You'll be living together in co-ed rooms with your teammates, just follow the signs and you'll find your rooms. Other than that, there's nothing else to say until tomorrow. All of you, on behalf of the staff, welcome to Lustre." and with that, the headmaster stepped down and the ceremonies ended for the evening. A door on their left was now open with miss Lariet holding a tray with the various room keys on them, each one already printed to one of the team names they had been assigned.

The hard part was over.

Julio looked at Asher and patted his back, "Congrats on getting the lead position." He then looked at the others and continued, "Looking forward to working with you too." Once the pleasantries were done, he would descend the stage with both hands in his pockets and then sitting down to wait for the ceremony to end. The next was where the fellow with the mask and tophat was. So his name was Stizza huh? Guy was pretty cool, especially with his semblance.

The orientation was finally done and they were released. He waited for the others in his team before proceeding outside and taking a key to the room. He'd at least spend some of his time with them for now, to at least get to know them better he would guess?

Asher couldn't help but smile a bit being handed the position, but at the same time he was part bit apathetic to the decision, and part thinking "what else was there to expect?". Regardless he seemed to take the decision in stride, as the grand master had described, he did have a good mind for tactics and was indeed quite confident in his combat capabilities, and he had the skills to show it. Question was whether or not he'd actually make a good leader, his only experience with this was when he kind of sort of led a gang of hoodlums, he didn't make any gang, they kind of just gravitated to his strength, as that was what mattered on the streets.

He turned to his team congratulating him and doing the usual pleasantries, so he thought he should too,

"Yeah, I guess that means we're all stuck together for a few years then?", he didn't look as thrilled as the others, but only time will tell how he fits into his position. When he thinks about 'working together', all he can think of is how everyone can contribute to the team, their skills and whatnot.

"Well, we should figure out our team... Dynamic, so to speak. Not now though, right now I'm hungry", that and, they needed to pick up the keys. He was probably going to take that... If there was anything new he learned being picked up by the Brandt family, it was that responsibility was an important thing, so he figured this was part of his responsibility as leader,

"After that, I'll pick up the keys and we can head to our dorm afterward".

The dining hall was just slightly larger than the main hall was, dotted with diamond shaped tables with two seats on each face of it, meaning eight total could sit to a table at a time. There was a queue forming at the kitchens themselves where the food was being served. A menu was being displayed on a series of screens above the serving stations. It was surprisingly diverse, no doubt trying to cater to as many tastes as possible, a little reward for them making it through their entrance exams.

"Sparing no expense... perhaps they're trying to impress us?" Yasmin snickered slightly as she looked over the fancy dining hall.

"Feel like i'm a party more than an academy." An awestruck Cedar mentioned, standing with his team. From the line, they could spot Lariah beckoning to them from the back. Chances were this place would fill up fast.

Julio looked at the fancy dining hall. This looked way better than the ones he saw back at Atlas. Was it to impress them or was this a one-time treat for them because of the entrance exam? Nevertheless, he figured he should enjoy as much food as he could. Then again, his tastes would be more suited to the fruits and vegetables thanks to his monkey heritage. Although he was more than glad to try out anything on the menu. The problem was, what was he going to pick?

He turned to Cedar. "I'm willing to bet this is like a party after the exams." He then looked back at everything before beckoning the three to hurry up. "We should really get to the line. I think we'd run out of food before we even get to the counter to get it if we wait any longer." It would seem that Asher would want some food too based from what he was saying earlier and how much he was looking forward to eating.

"Well this academy is new, I guess it's natural they'd want us to like it as much as possible", he commented as they poured into the hall. He wasn't new to this kind of scene, he was always dragged to parties by his parents along with his sisters, they enjoyed it, he didn't, those were always so stiff, but this was a lot more his speed. No one here seemed to be pretending to be anything.

By the time Julio turned to speak to Asher about getting in line before the food ran out, Asher was already gone. He would turn and see Asher already in line with a plate. He was hungry, and packed his plate with loads of meats and fried foods, along with a small portion of vegetables of his choice.

Yasmin chose to eat lightly, taking just a few pieces of grilled chicken and a large addition of Ceasar salad. Cedar chose something a little more simple, mostly friend food and fries, though he did at least add a little salad. Most of the other teams had claimed tables for themselves and were already digging in, but JAYC managed to find a place to sit. Cedar eagerly dug in, lacking his manners in a few spots, whilst Yasmin ate with only the highest of table manners.

"So then." Yasmin began amidst a mouthful. "Tell me, how did you two pass the exam? I imagine you had to endure as much as we did."

"We had to deal with a Toadeye in a swamp." Cedar chirped up before Asher could get a word in. "What about you guys?"

Noticing that Asher was already at the line, he headed out too. His plate was almost filled with the different kinds of salad that was being served and then some meat on the side. It looked uncomfortable to eat, since it was so many, but Julio looked like he would be able to finish all of it. Which he will. After all, he just came from a battle and he was hungry. Surely, though, Asher was way hungrier than him.

He sat down beside Yasmin and then began eating, his table manners not being that bad but not as well-refined as Yasmin. He was going to be content on listening in to the conversation while eating his salad, a little faster now, eager to taste what they had in store. And admittedly, it was pretty darn good.

Looking at Cedar as he asked and then looking at Yasmin to see that she had no intention of replying, he decided to answer the question. "Toadeye huh? Right, swamp area." He then took another quick bite and swallowed it. "We fought a Flaming Taijitu, you know the King Taijitu whose body is covered in flames? That one." He didn't follow it up though and just kept on eating.

"Mhm, mhm, interesting", he wasn't listening, he was a bit too busy stuffing his face. He wasn't at the estate anymore so he was able to eat in whatever manner he wanted, which was not at all like what the son of a rich family should, albeit he is their adopted son, yet still they tried to teach him a more refined way... Which he is fully able to do, but he never liked it.

Based on what he was tasting, the cooks here knew what they were doing. Fairly simple flavors with a good kick. He possibly ate through his plate fastest.

"Man this is good, I wonder what dinner's gonna be like."

"Man, pardner can sure pack it away." chuckled a familiar voice as the familiar wearing stetson man from before sat to their table, one Isaac Carbon. "Don't suppose it'd be trouble if we sat here?"

The rest of the team didn't wait for an answer as soon Lariah and Sliver also took seats across from them. Cassidy was missing from their group.

"Nice to be schooling with you guys!" Lariah greeted them loudly. Yasmin offered only a polite nod whilst Cedar just looked a little intimidated.

Julio smiled at their leader's apparent train of thought. He wasn't listening to the conversation and was mainly focused on his food. It bothered the monkey faunus none. It wasn't like the conversation was going anywhere anyway. He then looked at Isaac as he approached the table, wondering if they could sit down with them. Before anyone could reply, however, the rest of the team sat down so Julio just shrugged and went back to his meal.

He did scan over the group. "Yeah." He was more distracted by the apparent lack of the fourth member. "Where's that other girl? The girl with the grin on her face?" Julio questioned. From what he observed earlier, almost everyone is eating with their groups so Cassidy should definitely be there as well.

"I guess since this academy is new, everyone here is a first year...? So meaning we don't have seniors, or juniors yet", he pondered, somewhat responding to Lariah about 'schooling' together. Although amidst this he was still stuffing his face so some of his words were repeated after finishing his bite. But he had a legitimate point, no seniors or juniors yet, they were the first gen. Unless some students decided to transfer here, they're not going to have anyone other than 'equals' for the time being.

"I think a nurse came to see her... something about her family." Lariah spoke up to Julio. "I'm sure everything's fine. Does concern us a bit... but hey, we still need to eat." She grinned as she dug into a plate of fried fish.

"Actually, friend." Isaac corrected Asher. "Lustre's been up fer 10 years now. We got upperclassmen, my guess is they just got a day off considerin' all the staff been dealin' with us."

"Yeah, that must be right. I mean Cinnamon is-" Cedar began to say but quietened down a bit. "...I mean, I know an upperclassman at this academy." He corrected himself.

Julio listened intently to what Lariah said. Something concerning her family? Hopefully Lariah was right, that everything was fine on her part. It would be worrying if she had to drop out all of a sudden and leaving the other group blank. He only responded with a nod as he continued to eat his large amount of salad, which was now, surprisingly, almost finished.

When Asher piped up that this was the first year of Lustre Academy, Julio wanted to butt in that that information was false. But the others did it for him. Namely Isaac. So he kept quiet and just continued to eat. When Cedar said that he knew someone from here, it piqued Julio's interest. "Oh? You know someone here?" He then took another bite and swallowed it before continuing. "That's convenient. At least you already know someone."

"Could've fooled me, all I hear is how new this place is, nothing else. What're the students here been doing these past ten years then?", he responded. The prestige of this academy was still under fire in everyday conversation, what achievements did they have? Anyone who studied here worth knowing? In any case he had his own plans,

"Well, even if they haven't made anything of their time here, I'm sure as hell going to, make a name for myself", and he wasn't new to doing that. It might translate with greater effort from when he was on the streets, but he had some idea. Big jobs, big skills, and the Vytal festival too... The whole world will be watching those, and that was the perfect chance to show everyone you're worth something.

"Yeah... it sure is great." Cedar smiled wryly as his fox ears drooped slightly on his head, nose wrinkling slightly.

"Search me." Isaac shrugged, drumming his fingers on the table slightly. "Maybe take it up with one of the staff? Reckon' they'd know more than any tabloids on that."

"Oh i've heard some rumors." Yasmin flicked her fan across her mouth with a devious look in her eyes. "Supposedly, Lustre will make its mark in the Vytal Festival this year. Not only are they vying to get it held in Vault, they want to show off one of their third year teams as the crown jewel of the school."

Outside of the dining hall, through the square windows, the sun was sinking below the horizon and the darkness of the night encroached evermore. Some of the students were headed up to find their rooms.

Julio noticed that Cedar didn't like the fact that he knew someone in here... or at least, he didn't like that person he knew in there. Before he could inquire further about it, the others began to speak. Perhaps he'll have another chance later in the rooms. Or maybe he'd forget about it. He isn't sure. Whichever comes first.

He looked towards Yasmin. Well now, that was quite a rumor. "One of the third year teams as the crown jewel?" He looked towards Asher who seemed determined to, as he said, make a name for himself. Surely he'd want to enter the Vytal Festival and win said competition. Well now, this might be interesting. While he is caught in the middle, since he's part of Asher's team, he didn't mind.

Noticing that other students began standing up, he said, "You guys done? Looks like most of the students are heading up to the rooms."

"Forget it, if I don't hear about them by mere word of mouth then it's not enough", he snapped back. That said, based on the direction of the conversation, it seems Vault was on the low-profile until this year due to the Vytal festival to be the big payoff.

"Vytal festival as the payoff then I guess? Heh, perfect. We'll show them even the first years are worth looking at, we're not gonna let out seniors hog all the spotlight", mostly him and his team. He had a thing for fame, he always sought it, he wasn't sure why, but when he thought of the Vytal festival, he remembered his friends whom had moved to other nations upon being adopted. Maybe they'll show up at the festival. Though when they left, he was the only one in the group with zero aptitude to becoming a hunter, not even the minimal, but look at him now...

"Oh, right, yeah I'll go grab the keys then we'll head up", Asher had finished his meal minutes before the conversation on Vytal had ended, so afterwards he got up to go grab the keys off of Lariah. After which he met back up with his team as they were finishing their meal and headed off for the dorms.

"Yeah, we'll make team JAYC a name to fear and admire!" Cedar agreed wholeheartedly, finally pulling off a smile for once.

"I'm all done, lets go." Yasmin agreed as she and Cedar got up from their seats and followed him to collect their keys from Miss Lariet. After that, it was a short trek up the stairs to the first floor dorms, a single corridor dedicated to the first years. They found their room easily enough and were able to open it with their key.

Inside was a fairly large and spacious room, a white tiled floor spanning the entire room with a brown rug situated inbetween the large metal frame beds. They were simple enough, covering most of the floor's area, the bed covers already stretched over them. There were a few simple shelves for placing curative items and a television had even been provided for them, though god knows what kind of signals it actually got. There was an adjoining room with an en suite bathroom, complete with everything they'd need including a fresh set of toiletries. A single window dominated the wall across from the door. The entire room had the distinctive look of modern design.

Julio followed the group from behind, hands in his pocket like usual. He collected his own key last and then headed over to the rooms. The room wasn't all that magnificent but it wasn't bad either. It was spacious too, so that was pretty cool. His own room before he went to Vault could be akin to a storage room, so this was something nice for him. Not waiting for any one of them, he went over to the bed to the right close to the window. He then sat down on it.

"Pretty nice eh?"
