With the extra books they really added so much extra fun capability to Deathwatch.

I need to think of a chapter that would be big on heavy bolters, I think Space Wolves are more rocketty when they use heavy weapons for the longfansgs. Imperial Fists maybe but I am not sure. I just really like the heavy bolter on a devestator.

If you want chapters that are really big on using them. Again the Fists like them for siege warfare and defense because you can load with so so many different munition types.

Dark angels just like overwhelming firepower as a general tactic/philosophy. And the blood angels like devastators because they are the least likely to succumb to black rage or the red thirst so they encourage the use of ranged warfare to their marines.

All fo those chapters are big on heavy bolters. Ultramarines as well because Heavy bolters are the base and all purpose devastator weapon as dictated by the codex.

i keep thinking of the Imperial Fists but my hangup on them is they seem to be going downhill ever since they lost their primarch and a lot of their successors seem to be doing better. Plus I feel they look silly overall.

I am leaning mostly towards Dark Angels at the moment for a Devestator.

The fists are doing really well. If anything its their sucessors that are taking a beating. Save the Black Templars their most famous sucessors like the crimson fists took a pounding in recent years. And every other space marine chapter has lost their primarch and suffered for it.

its chapters like the blood angels and its sucessors that are really close to the edge. Nearly all of the chapters relating to sagnuinis are expected to become extinct or dam close to it within two thousand years simply from the black rage. If the constant warfare doesn't get to them first.

And I love the look of the fists. I find they look rather regal, The nick name Preatorians suits them well.

Personally I wish I could be a Blood Raven's librarian. But that would have to be homebrewed.

ya either a Storm Warden Psyker or maybe a raven Guard scout marine. A wolf scout is also an option I suppose.

I'm probably going to try to make an Iron Hands... something, not sure if I want to make a techpreist, since it seems I always wind up playing one

You could be an apothecary. that's about as far from techmarine as you can get

Personally I find Dark angels make the best apothecaries, but only when there are space wolves in the party.

Strange. I've always run Only War campaigns, but I was interested in trying out some deathwatch before I delved into that territory. Any more room in this?
